Well the half way point of the season approaches and Rd 6 of the Peak Classic Trials Club Championship comes to Bracken Rocks, Holloway near Matlock, Derbyshire this Sunday and with fine weather forcast for the day there will hopefully be a good turnout of riders to contest the Championship places up for grabs. As always there will be classes for British Bikes, Pre85 Twinshocks and Pre95 Air cooled monos. Routes for Expert, Classic Expert, Intermediate, Classic Intermediate and Clubman so whatever your level of ability there is something for you. To be Held at Emmotts just outside of Silsden on Sunday the 22nd of July. Three Courses for all classes Adult and Youth along with the usual Conducted course for Small wheel and Electric Bikes. Start time is 11am and the weather is looking good for the Weekend!

Luscombe Suzuki Leeds British ACU Solo Youth A & B Trials Championship Rounds 3 & 4 - Franklin’s Trophy Trial Scarlett, Isle of Man. 21st -22nd July 2012 Preview The Isle of Man Youth Trials Club will be hosting the Franklin’s Trophy Trial, rounds 3 and 4 of the Luscombe Suzuki Leeds British ACU Solo Youth A & B Trials Championship on the volcanic coastline of Scarlett this weekend. A good entry of 40 youth riders, consisting of 26 B Class riders and 14 A Class riders, will be travelling across the Irish Sea to tackle the 2 days of picturesque riding along the rugged, southern coastline of the Isle of Man. The Trials to be run at Ian's Rocks will start at 12 noon for the Small Wheels and Electric Bikes followed by the Main Trial at 2pm. Ian's Rocks is off the A59 Harrogate to Skipton road at Blubberhouses. From the A59 take the Hardisty Hill turnoff opposite the Fewston Reservoir and continue up the Hill until you come to Menwith Hill Road. Turn and follow flags from there.

Who is stopping where ? We will be in the Rugby field at the bottom of Sardent village.Easy access into town,300 yards from start, shower block and Spa shop.Wonder if that ancient crusty museum of a bar will be open this year.

Anyone know what time this trial starts on Saturday ? TC says 12am but TMX says 2pm ? I have tried to call but the contact number in TC is wrong.

With England of late having a bit of a monsoon season it was touch and go whether last Sundays trial would go ahead or not but the Clerk of the Course at Peak Classic Trials Club was determined to follow the old adage “the show must go on” and managed to lay out a course of 10 sections to be ridden 4 times finding the dryer patches in the woods at Carsons farm and it was most heartening to hear all the congratulations from the riders at the end of their days sport. Peter Carson on home turf rode up a class this weekend riding his rigid BSA Bantam to victory in the Expert British Bike class with a stunning ride to lose just 2 marks which was by far and away the best ride …

After two days setting out and 400 rolls off kitchen towels to dry it out the course for Sundays trial is in fine fettle. Surprisingly after the torrential downpours of late the ground has soaked it up very well and we have 10 sections ready and waiting for you tomorrow. Obviously due to the recent weather we have laid out the sections to be wide and flowing with loads of lines available so no reason to oil that hinge in your bike just Classic style flowing sections perfect for Classic bikes. What more could you ask for? Well the brolly dollies are all busy elsewhere but feel free to bring your own or preferably an observer who will be made very welcome. Start time 11.0…

This weekend the 23rd & 24th June will see the Earl Shilton Trials Club run their popular 2-day trial and this year we are supporting British Forces Charities and limbless soldiers who have been selected to go on a tour of Route 66 as pillion riders. The trial will start at 1530hrs on the Saturday and 1030hrs on the Sunday. D Day Landings … Wednesday the 6th June. D Day !!! (D for Darren perhaps…?) Also round two of the Wrigglesworth Building Services Summer Series for Beginners, in association with Colin Appleyard Motorcycles. Fatherhood obviously suits Nathan Wrigglesworth as he set out a superb trial. Congratulations Wriggy. Round two took place at Lumb Falls, Cowling (ish). A fabulous venue offering a good variety of terrain, stream, steep climbs and rocks. Aided and abetted by a deluge of rain for an hour before the start, it provided a progressively more and more slippery set of sections enjoyed by a good entry of 44 riders. The East Neuk Wobblers and Montrose MCC are jointly running a Two day event on the 16/17 June. Based in Glen Esk the course will be 4/5 miles with 2 routes of an easy and moderate severity. Ideal for older machines and the casual/fun rider. (Sunday Observed, Sat self Observed) Free Camping on site,Toilets provided by club. Big thank's to Ian Middleton and his team for all there hard work. Saturday loop must be the best run round anywhere with 50/60 miles of fantastic hill terrain. Absolute bargain even by us Scot's standard of £35 for the weekend and a free mug if you finish. One route and very non-stop as the style of sections dictate this,but great not to look for section markers all weekend. Well attended by "forigners" but us Scots are gie thin on the ground especially youngsters. Will be back next year, hopefully with a bigger posse from the Wobbler's. Well done to everyone involved.

Just a quick impression in case anyone is interested. This was the second edition of this trial which starts at Colombier le vieux in the Ardeche it is the home of trialclub.com run by the trial de Burle it comprised of Sat.85 k & 20 sections Sun 95 K & 20 sections Monday 50 K & 18 sections. All sections have 4 routes catering for all abilities (Janet came in 11th on s4 out of 80 in the class). The interzone is mostly mountain tracks and trails through woods etc. Each day has a lunchstop with sit down restaurant service including 3 courses & wine you get an hour to eat if you arrive early you get that time as well ( I should point out that you get a time…

TMX has the Novice Beginners at Emmotts on the 26th May as starting at 11am. This is incorrect. The Small Wheels Electric Series will start at 12 Midday as usual with the Novice Beginners at 2PM

Milton Buzzard will be hosting their Bob Hilder Trial at just off the A10 near Puckeridge in Herts on Sunday 25th. This is one of the best bits of ground available to the club, with a hard bottomed stream (rare round here), plenty of climbs, logs and other natural obstacles. About a 2 mile lap as well so a good ride round. Venue has plenty of parking, with no entry limit entries are avalable on the day. Come along and make the most of the decent weather!!

In addition to the twinshocks, the event will also incorporate two additional classes. Following the cancellation of the Pre70 team trial in Cornwall, a class has been added for club entered teams for Pre70 British solo bikes and there will also be a class for modern sidecar teams. Anyone can submit a team, so it is an ideal opportunity to get together with a bunch of mates and have yourself a ride in some excellent trials country. The Peak Classic Trials Club held round 4 of their club championship at Dudwood Farm, Elton nr Matlock Derbyshire last Sunday 20th May and were blessed with an excellent turnout of 48 riders but sadly only 2 observers but this didn’t deter the riders from enjoying a great days sport in the beautiful Derbyshire Peak district as they all pulled together and observed each other.
