Well the 2011/2012 season is well and truly behind us and the 2012/2013 Club Championship is about to commence. This Sunday 26th February sees the ever popular venue of Dudwood Farm, Elton, Derbyshire hold round 1 which will take in the testing stream sections and rocky woods that this venue is so famous for. The presentation of last years awards takes place after the event at the Miners Standard Pub nearby so a great day out in the fabulous Derbyshire Peak District is assured. There will be classes for British Bikes, Twinshock, Pre95 Air …

The first round of the Scottish youth/over 40's championship at Milnathort has been cancelled due to the land being waterlogged. The club had a phone call from the landowner today to say because of the snow earlier in the week now melted the land is sodden. So unfortunately the club has no choice but to cancel. The club trial scheduled for Saturday 3rd is also cancelled.

I've been on the enduro and rally scene for a good few years, but the above will be my first trial. What should I expect, and is there anything different that I won't be expecting?

The Eboracum Motor Cycle Club will run an East Yorks Centre Championship Twin Shock Trial on Sunday-June 18 at Coates Hill, Rosedale, starting at 11.00am. The venue is legendary as it was the final section group of the late lamented Colonial Trial and the centre piece was a giant oak tree which was right alongside the final climb. Many great names have leant against the old oak while weighing up a section line. Rod Drake is the man in charge on the day.

Anyone know if the Eboracum CR trial on the 27th is the Kay Trophy event? Is it at Ouseburn as in previous years? The club's web site doesn't seem to have been updated recently.

The popular Edinburgh St George Plaza trial takes place on Sunday March 12th near Lauder in the Scottish borders - its a good regular trial - approx 3mile lap and no silly stuff - 'A' route is laid out for non experts but will still challenge experts - and we cater for all classes down to B youths on the easier 'B' route - As we give out no silly plastic awards, the proceeds from the trial go to a local good cause - last year the local village primary school got a cheque for
