I hadn't ridden this for a few years and had forgotten how good it can be, particularly when the sun shines at Easter. Using the same venue, and rocks, as last years French world round was a shock for some of the English riders. Later the sections returned to the standard I remember - easier than all the other French trials, which is fine by me on the S3 route. Small things make the days easier - no real time limit, food and fuel supplied and an amostpheric arena style final section that turned out to be one of the trickiest on the top 3 routes too. Michael Brown was best expert and Ben Wibberley third in S1 class. Scarborough clubmen topped the S4 and Randonneurs cla…

  7. Just to clarify. This coming weekend is the third round of the Eastern Centre Expert, Inter, Youth A Championships, not Round 2 as advertised on the calender. 12th April, Trials Park, Corton, Lowestoft, NR32 5HX. Entries close on the 10th April so you've still just about got time to enter if you'd like to. Observers and helpers always very welcome.

  13. Cumberland County MCC host the 6th round of the Novogar series on Sunday 7th June at Newbiggin near Brampton Cumbria. The Alan Trophy trial is also a round of the National over 40 championship. 2009 will be the first time that a 50/50 route will be introduced aimed at increasing the entry numbers and should appeal to competent Clubman riders. The natural streams, rocks and banks which normally feature in the 2 x ten mile laps of 22 sections will now have an alternative route by-passing the biggest steps and waterfalls. It is also thre intention to run the trial without roadwork.( Subject to confirmation) Entries will remain open until Tuesday 2nd June so ring Event Secr…
