Its nice to see tha acu take on board problems and deal with them - NOT! Just been back home for dinner and had a quick read through the selected riders list, 17 on the british championship course, 5 or 6 on the masters, 29 on the expert route, 5 riders from youth. with 9 in priority order for the reserve list - Which includes riders such as Richard Timperley, Nathan Wrigglesworth etc - who both, i will admit are better riders than me! So how does the ACU board select these riders, is it on merit, previous results etc, because i find it hard to believe that Maria Conway can be accepted straight on to the expert championship list, and Richard Timperley can't, Th…

Re - Masters Class. We have not yet finalised the format. The T & E Committee meet on Nov 27th and will finalise dates/Championshi[ps etc - we usually then try to arrange a meeting with the Championship orgainisers and discuss things. I have to say the Masters class does at present look very doubtful. We had thought it was a good stepping stone - and sort of intermediate course for those who did not wish to tackle all the Championship sections - but wished to try some. Equally those Champ riders now getting older - or not wishing to tackle big steps etc because perhaps they do not ride/train/practice so often - would have a good class to drop down into. I actuall…

I'm thinking about going to watch the St David's British round. Anyone know exactly where the venue is? Is it far to walk round? Are the section accessible? Having been to see the Lochaber and Bradford rounds last, wouldn't mind a weekend away in Wales!

While I was up dropping the kids off at my parents, they threw a few old photos my way, and this was amongst them. I don't remember some of the names. Would be interesting to see if any of them are still riding today. I'd imagine some of their kids are. Guisborough Youth Presentation Not sure what year it is, maybe around 81 or 82? Our BC round starting off from the new Ice Factor complex. Sections completely different from last year. More traditional but don't let that fool you with some streams having numerous steps rangeing from 4 -15 in height. Trial more suitable for the present rules. Practise starts on Sat 4-6.Trial starts 9am the following morning. The B C still has to be decided so come along and see Steve Colley attempting to close the series as Champion or push current champion Graham Jarvis for an outright win on the day!Good spectating. Sect 9 has a cash prise of

The Colmore Cup Trial was abandoned today when the heavy rain that had been forcast for the Midlands turned to snow early in the event. Snow combined with freezing fog, forced the organisers to make the difficult descision to stop the trial after most of the riders had completed just ten sections. The conditions on the roads around the Cotswold Hills were not safe, visibility was down to a few metres in places along the five mile drive from Dovedale to Hancocks Wood. The Stratford-Upon-Avon Club would like to thank the riders for reacting so well to the descision and also give a huge vote of thanks to all the observers who stuck at their posts until the bitter end. Her…

Wrexham trial at the weekend was a bit of a strange one Some good sections (most if not all of them actually). I noticed on the web it said entries close an hour before the start, so I turned up just before 10 for an 11 o'clock start. The car park was already filling up, so I knew it was going to be a big entry. Queue for entries was massive, and start was delayed I think by about 45-50 minutes. Big queueing on the first lap - I didn't have my watch on, but seemed to be at least 2 and a half - 3 hours on first lap. I suppose we were a bit slower dragging round our two lads on Beta 50's. At about 3 the sun disappeared behind the hill, and almost immediately the ice c…

.....which ones best? Hello all. I'm on the hunt for a trial bike and I've come across a couple of gems I'd like your opinions on if possible. Now I know there are countless "which bike is best" threads, but as this is specific I thought it might warrant a post. First up is a Scorpa SY250, 2007 model that is road registered. Pretty good condition except for a few scratches to the plastics. Recent service and has carbon covers and renthal fat bars. This one is about 90min from me and is up for

After the British Championship Organisers meeting held in Rugby last Saturday I can confirm the following. For the 7 British Championship rounds - the current F.I.M marking system will be used. There will be a time limit on each Section - but this has not been set yet - but will be the same for each round - each section. It is only these 7 rounds that will see this experimental change in 2006 - and the situation will be closely monitored. Another change next year is that the best 6 rounds will count toward final classification - ie rider can drop 1 round. Entry fee's etc remain same. Obviously this change wil cause controversy - and there was much debate in the meet…

I ride at clubmen level trials and wwas considering entering the scott trial but im not very sure whether isd be able to manage the sections? Ive watched the trial at places like bridge end, surrender, fremmington edge, underbanks and didnt think these sections were very diificult ( hard yes but not impossible for a clubman) are all the sections very similar or are these just the easier ones? any advice would be good.
