Somehow the AMA NATC Rules have an error that is hereby being corrected: In section 6.B.9, definition of Failures, the words "without forward motion" are to be removed. The effect is that no rider can push a stalled bike out a section without receiving a five.

A US National (actually two) happened this weeekend and our prime organizations dropped the ball again. Where was the press release, where are the results? Doesn't all these members of the NATC who have a financial stake in the sport know how to promote their riders? Nothing from Gas Gas, nothing from Sherco, nothing from Beta, nothing from Montesa, nothing from Scorpa. Nothing from Trials Comp. All these busineses make money from riders selling stuff, yet nothing.

While Chris Florin and Keith Wineland were the national tv pioneers a few years ago, tonight on America's Got Talent, the Smage Bros. try to impress Sharon Osborn, Howie Mandel and that windbag, Piers Morgan, in New York. Any predictions?

One comment that was heard spoken about our best riders was they don't. They don't know when to go fast and when to go slow, they are always riding the wrong speed. That was overheard by one American spectator in Deluth, the father of an up and coming US riding star. Learning the correct rhythm is perhaps the hardest thing to pick up, unless your riding with riders who have it already. When you don't ride with the best, chances are you never will learn it. By the way, I was not in Deluth!

My Team Full Monty [idaho sydicate] member, MikeOD, made an excellent point in another post and I want to expand on it. We have a number of American riders entering the World round this weekend and they deserve much more respect and encouragement than I think a lot of you realize. I'm a freaking club level rider and not a very good one at that but the encouragement and support I got from the crowd at El Trial was absolutely one of the most inspiring things I've ever felt. It was so incredible that I chose to take a line on the second loop that a couple of the other riders who are light years ahead of me wouldn't [of course my own lack of fear plays a detrimental part i…

We're pleased to announce the first American Trials Training Camp for our teenage up and coming American Trials stars, sponsored by TTC and RYP. During the week starting July 5 immediately after the Youth Nationals, the Trials Training Center will host a training camp for our top young riders age 15-19, to spend a week riding, practicing, pushing each other and generally hammering the rocks & hills at TTC. Cody Webb, Bruce LeRiche, Stevie Darrow, Louise Forseley and possible some additional Pro riders will be there (stay tuned for further announcements) to train with lots of the top young invited riders from the High School and Expert classes. We won't be pushing them…

Take the 2 top US Trials Riders, Pat and Cody and at their current ability with their current bikes. How many years back would we have to go (and everything else being the same in that era, bikes, riders, etc.) for them to be top 5 World Riders? Or better yet, World Champ?

  11. Here is a quate from another post, and demonstrates (IN MY OPINION) part of the problem with Trials in the US. "In my opinion, it is folly to assume that we should atrtact as many youngsters as we can to trials, because, taking my local scene into account: - we already have 100 plus riders per trial. Queues at sections are long enough! - the more people who latch onto trials, the more who take it into their own hands to use ground for illegal practice, endangering continuation of the sport. Sure, we need to ensure the sport continues, but its current popularity doesn't threaten this." Again, in my opinion this shows that some people/clubs are content with the status …

This thread is dedicated to Andrew Oldar, one of the finest young talents out there. This gentleman has worked diligently to progress to where he is today ON TOP of the 125 class with tremendous guidence from another Southern California legend, Mark Oldar [You know, the first guy to build and ride a 4 stroke in modern competition, well before Honda!!!] CONGRATULATIONS ANDREW!!! It's time to come on over to the TFM pits and partake in a well deserved beverage of adult caliber. Disclaimer: Of course EVERYBODY knows that we are talking about a NON- alcoholic beverage.....RIGHT?!?!? Yeah that's it. Dabnabit, you just make sure Mark doesn't catch wind of this.

Nutty as it is, I'm spending another beautiful weekend glued to Trials Central. Not totally glued, but stuck enough to return every couple of hours for information about the USA Indoor, the AMA Youth Nationals, the European and World championships. The question of the day. For friends and family or a rabid fan, if you can't make it to the event for some reason or another, how important is it to get timely information about the event? a) Very important Somewhat important c) Not important at all

  17. Hi guys, Knowing that our US (and Canadian) counterparts tend to use their bikes for longer trips, I was hoping a post here might generate some useful replies! Basically, I managed to get hold of the Beta long range tanks/seat unit for my '07 Rev 3 4T - but no fitting instructions. If anyone has fitted such a thing to their bike, or even better has the fitting instructions, a walkthrough of how it goes on would be much appreciated. The Beta factory is closed for the whole of August, so I'm left a bit stumped for now. Thanks

  18. Just wondering if someone who was at section 12 might have snapped a shot of the $7000 Sherco sucking septage into its entirety. As the section I would vote as the worst one ever laid out at a real trials I would like access to a pic for humors sake. I am puzzled why in a ranch with over 1000 acres of incredible rocks the organizers decide to use a natural cesspool of black slime to send everyones high $ rides through. It turns out the only way the Pro line could be ridden forced the bikes down a log end to end and over parts of th Expert and Pro split cards ,:very mickey mouse. Coming in a close second for poor section layout was the opener for the final day that took …
