Must have been one of the best MotoGP races of all time to date. For those who missed the dice in the final laps of Yamaha team mates Rossi and Lorenzo was something I havent seen since 500 GP days. To see these guy swap the lead corner after corner in the final lap was simply amazing, and it could have ended in tears if one rider took the other out, real heart in the mouth stuff. The skill level went up a notch watching this, super-human skill pushing the bikes to the limits in 40degC something heat. Whats more is Rossi, Lorenzo and Stoner are on 106 points each in the championship, some competitive racing to come for the next 7 rounds! Who's your money one for this …

By the looks of it, Stoner is making this look easy, but watching the interviews it is just as much as a battle for setup and tyre choice as any other team. So for getting it right more times than the others and off pole, good on him. Also the best part is no one had previous track data for the change of track direction, which shows the win was even sweeter to skill with team input and not ass or familiarity from previous experience. Blimey Rossi in second place...thats rare now. He had been languishing in the mid pack last season but now he seems to have got a new mojo. High track temperatures meant most riders had tyre trouble with degradation and slip which caused at least 5-6 biggies and at least one stretcher case. In the end Rossi failed to make it a win, but it is good to see him out with the front runners.

I was just getting to the stage where i could start to give him a bit more credit ( other than his natural talent) and he goes and confirms what i always thought of him! He always used to laugh it off when he was "firm" against other riders but he can't handle it when he's on the receiving end can he? Lin Jarvis said in his statement that Valentino's not a dirty rider.......i suspect Sete Gibernau would disagree. When Jorge started beating him on the Yamaha we had the nonsense of the split garage and engineers not sharing data,then he said they couldn't both be in the same team so he ran away to Ducati, now he's threatening that he might not ride in valencia ( boo hoo)...…

Didnt see any comment about Shanghai. But for the record: Top effort by Aussie Casey Stoner to win from Rossi for a hard fought victory. Ducati certainly had the legs on the straights.

I can't be the only one who thinks Hondas offer to build ( and sell ) "production" versions of the RCV is a great idea.Apparently HRC say they could build as many as were needed whether it was 10,20 or 30!.Teams could buy them for about a million including spares backup and would have a bike faster than any of the CRT teams without having to spend on development.Some people are worried that Honda would have too much influence on Dorna given that they supply the Moto2 engines and about 75% of the Moto3 ones.I would suggest that it might spur Yamaha to do the same and perhaps it would help Suzuki if they knew they could generate income which they could put back into develop…

I have to admit, I've only been following MotoGP for 5 or 6 years, and I dont know what went down much earlier than that, however, what i've seen happening this season between Yamaha and Ben Spies, has been awfully suspicious. First off, I want to say thanks to all of you guys who gave me a super explanation of why Dovi went (is going) to Ducati. With Ben Spies, it seems since he announced his departure with Yamaha at the end of this season, he's had nothing but bad luck and mechanical failures. The broken shock bolt at Laguna, the blown motor... The slipping clutch? Does this seem a little suspicious to you by a major manufacturer?

There has been much speculation this week over who will be the replacement for Ben Spies on the factory Yamaha team. I have my own thoughts of why he is leaving the team to begin with, however, should Dovi be given the chance he has been working towards with no less than 4 podiums this year? or, Is Yamaha trying to lure Valentino back as 9 time world champion to make a competetive bid along side Jorge Lorenzo for the World Championship?

In front of a passionate 138,000 crowd in perfect racing conditions, this race was never quite as close as the tight-fought qualifying session promised it might be.
