Calling all EVO owners, and those in the know. Can anybody shed any light on the ignition mapping selection switch and exactly what it is for/supposed to do? I can't tell any difference between the two settings and I have heard that it is difficult for the top boys to do so as well so can anybody offer any more information on this? Currently I practice at two different sites so the mapping selection is used for that!!...ha,ha

Hi, Does anybody know the correct adjustment for the mixture screw? Beta Techno 98, like a "dork" stripped the carb of a recently acquired 98 beta techno 250cc and didn't pay any attention to the position of said screw. HELP.

my pals 07 rev 3 250 overheated yesterday under strange circumstances. any help on the causes will be appreciated. a small amount of white emulsion - ie spoonfull came out of one of the crankcase breathers. thought nothing of it as it has sat for a long time and presumed it would be a little condesated water and oil. soon after it started to knock in fuel starved type way. rad was not blocked, fan was working (that we can remember) and it should have never have got hot enough to overheat in that time. the outside of the cylinder has very slighty disclooured and it has got very hot in about 1 mile of unavoidable riding. it has not seized. it has not been stripped down yet …

I have a 2008 rev 3 250 and could do with changing both front and rear brake pads ,what ones do i want? what do you guys use? i have seen EBC sintered Gold fren sintered( i think ) has enyone tried these

I'm thinking I may have a problem with my radiator fan and wondering if anyone can verify my testing procedure. I noticed it hasn't kicked on since I got the bike put back together. Actually the bike is new to me and I'm not sure it worked before. It's been hot here and I have been plonking around in the back yard with it, so I'd think it would have come one. I assumed I either have a bad temp switch or the fan is bad, so I started testing by starting the bike and shorting the leads (2 blue wires) from the temp switch, but the fan didn't start up. Next I wired the fan directly to 12vdc and it ran fine, so I know the fan is good. I see the blue leads from the temp switch r…

I went to my first trial yesterday and several people commented on how loud my bike was. I didn't notice it until then but now it is rather loud compared to all the other trials bikes there. I Was told it would be a good idea to pack the exhaust tighter, i did this a few months ago but still took it all out and did it tighter. I managed to fit a lot more packing in doing it as compact as i could. Its still just as loud after doing this though. Any suggestions on what i could to to quieten it? Thanks

Hi just bought my first trials bike a 2005 Beta rev 3 270 but do not have a manual. Could anyone tell me what type of Transmission oil to use or better still post a link for somewhere to buy it on the net. Anyones help is much appreciated Cheers Jamie

Hi all! Just noticed tonight when i removed spark plug to check condition of spark plug there is a steel insert in cyl head is this for plug to screw into or a cyl head insert to alter compression i have seen s3 inserts on steve saunders sxs site?

hi wonder if someone can help me,i have a 1995 beta techno 125,but the exhaust is not origanal,so ive been looking for some pictures of a 125,manual,tech specs but not found anything,but i have the chance to buy a 250 exhaust off a techno,just wondered if anyone knew is there any difference in the 125 to 250 techno engine,ifso what is it,bore to barrel ect,Thanks.

The arrow systems are re-packable, but only the rear half or so. Does anyone know whats in the front half? I'm assuming a wire wool type material? I ask because my system has gone quite noisy, and re-packing has made little difference. I'm thinking of cutting it open and repacking the front half as I think this is the problem. I can weld titanium, so this isnt a problem, I would just rather know what I'm getting into first, before i set to a £800 exhaust with a grinder !! If anyone has seen the inside of one, or knows what's in there, I would appreciate your input! Thanks

hi my beta rev3 has a betor gas rear shock... am i right in saying its not the correct shock for my bike? i have been strugling to get grip in the wet, i was thinking my rear shock might be the problem. has anyone tried the bosi rear shock, was thinking about replacing the betor for the bosi. any help or advice, would be appreciated cheers gary.

I'm trying to decide between the 2014 evo 300 4T and the new Montesa 4RT260. For you 4t owners out there, would you buy the beta again or would you go for the Montesa if you could? Thanks for your input.

Just recieved my long range seat/tank combo. As everyone has said the seat is just foam. Has anyone tried any Mods like covering it? I was wondering if it would be possible to cover it and secure it with just adhesive since there is no frame on it. If anyone has tried this or has any ideas it would be much appreciated. The seat is pretty flimsy as is. Grumpy

There is fuel coming out of the breather pipes on my keihin carb on my sons beta evo 125. Can anybody tell me why this is happening ? Cheers

Hi all please help me I'm going round the bend here. Why does my clutch lever get more resistance the more times I pull it in till I just can't pull it in? Lay bike on its side taken cover off and if push in the centre the rod thingy goes back and lever becomes normal to operate, why is it sticking should there be a spring to push it back?

One of my linkage bearings is damaged along with the bushing. Although the other bearings look ok, I'd like to replace them all while I'm at it. Having searched online it looks like Sherco and Gas Gas bearing packages are available, but I can't find any for Beta. Can someone point me in the right direction? Bike is a 2013 250 Evo. Thanks

So i bought this 2009 Evo in the knowledge that i knew about the problems and that i would be able to get them sorted still. When i viewed it i saw the below and thought it could jsut be normal or dirt. Lampkins said they will only replace the frame if its leaking fuel, is this the common consensus? I checked the swingarm and found that on the underside underside the cups there was some silicone sealing one of the welds. I didnt want to pick it off to look for cracks as i had a trial the next day. Is this norm or should i rip it out to look? Cheers Jon

Afer about 1 hour of wheelie training, the front brake lever becomes very soft (like it's free play increased twice). So you I have to press lever very hard to apply the break. The brake disc and pads are not hot at this time. If I left the bike for a few hours - front brake starts working in a regular way. Does anybody experience the same problem?

Hi having trouble with a Techno's electrics, chasing a CDI second hand working or OEM new part, I'm in Australia and they are as rare as hens teeth here. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Pics for identification. Cheers John K

Help required. I've just finshed cleaning the carb on my 04 rev3 by removing it and cleaning with carb cleaner/blowing jets etc. On replacing it into the frame petrol leaks from the carb body where the float bowl joins with the main carb body (it does'nt leak from the atmospheric tubes/over flow). I presume the gasket needs replacing. Could there be any other reason? I've taken the carb apart twice before (without changing the gasket and i've had the bike from new). Do the gaskets normally need replacing this oftern? If it is the gasket does anyone know where they can be bought (in time to ride on the weekend! Otherwise as a last resort for one trial only could anyth…
