I've just purchased a Beta rev3 06. Before I went on my first practice session I noticed that one of the bolts which clamp the spindle on the right fork has snapped. How common is this problem? All info welcome!

Fitting a new rear brake hose today, removed the old one, fitted new one, got it bled, Job Done! Went over to the rear wheel to put it back in't bike and thought 'Might as well tighten the disc bolts'. What a stupid mistake!! Tighten first one...fine, tighten second one...fine, tighten third one...CRACK In my defence it wasn't like I were swinging on the spanner, just a slight turn but nevertheless I now have half a bolt stuck in the hub and an old brake hose likely to go round my neck if I don't get it sorted before my Dad finds out I read this thread about the snapped fork bolt and wonder if I drill the bolt out and there isn't much left of the thread, can yo…

My 06 270 has developed a recent problem where it will take many many kicks to get the engine to fire up. Prior to this problem, it has been a 1 to 2 kick starter always. It almost seems to light up a second AFTER you've kicked the bike through it's full stroke, which is sort of wierd, cuz you think you didn't start the bike after you kick, then KA-POP.. and it lights up.. very strange. Some technical details: I have the lean jetting in place. climate is unchanged (sea level) Float height has been checked and appears to be the right height (7/16ths from the base) Fuel type and mixture is unchanged (100:1 premix, 100% race fuel). I didn't see any debris in the pilot …

Couple of mates have wider bars on the Beta's not much about 1 inch each side and I found the riding seemed more balanced and controlled, I am using stock Renthals at the moment any one using wider bars?and what type/make, could do with slighlty more lift on them as well

Just learning how to do this, always been impressed how the top lads do it so easily and how much of an advantage it can give you if you can master it. Ralph is like a f****ng kangeroo at it and will always go up the last 10-20 foot of any climb hopping even if it means giving away a dab at the top. One of those skills that will take ages to get good at and really hard on the arms and legs but great fun to do.

Hi, I bent the rear caliper bracket on my '01 Rev3 250, pictured on the left of the attached picture. I ordered a new one, part # 28-94550, and got the one pictured on the right. The new one cannot be made to fit. Does anyone know if I got the wrong part number or if they changed the bracket and the older one is no longer available? Thanks, Greg

My rev 250 has been causing me unwanted headaches. The last couple of times out I have had a hell of a job getting it started from cold. When it dose start it coughs and pops like a good un. The plug has been oiled up when removed. I am using a mix of 100 cc to 5L is this too rich ? When I replace the plug with a new one it seems to do the trick for a short while then its back to square one . My main concern is when the bike is ticking over it pops constantly unlike other rev 3s Ive listened too...... Any ideas ? p.s I have done the carb mods on r2w ,s site

Using NGK BPR 5ES in the rev 3 270, have done 3 plugs in the past three weeks now, is it the heat? or something else. Bike is running superb now and plug chops show nice colours and does nt seem to be running lean or rich. Did hear the Resistor type plugs have a tendancy to go bang often so i am trying the non resistor type for the next few weeks. Anyone else been popping plugs lately?
