I'm looking for a recommendation on what brand and type of oil to use in my 99 Techno 250. At someones advice I just used a Spectro full synthetic product (SX 10-30 wgt). The clutch binds after just sitting for a minute or so with the engine off and I had to rock it back and forth, clutch pulled and bike in 3rd to free it up. Any advice?? My manual (as sparce as it is) recommends 500cc! Is this correct? Thanks!!

I'm about to replace the standard kill/lights switch block on my bike with a Yamaha-type 2-wire kill switch, but can't for the life of me remember how to wire it up (apart from the earth connection!). I'm a bit of an electrical disaster area so the last time I did this I wrote everything down and drew diagrams etc.... predicatably, I've lost that piece of paper now. I'd like to remove all of the superfluous lighting gubbins while I'm at it so if anyone can remind me what needs to be disconnected where and what needs to be wired to what, I'd appreciate it. BTW, I eventually managed to get that nasty standard switch unit working semi-reliably by disassembling it, enlarging…

I bought my daughter an 04 Beta rev'n'go 2yrs ago but she has only ridden it half a dozen times. Used in fields, never seen a rock, no scratches etc. She's simply not interested in it and my 4yr lad old is too small for it yet. Should I sell it and build one of these buggers? http://www.reallifetoys.co.uk/Real%20Life%...ys/complete.htm My lad wants the green one So, what would a 'like new' Beta 50 fetch these days?

Hi < can anyone answer this? I have a 2000 rev 3 which has a back tyre with tube .I have been told that I should be using a tubeless tyre . I have just gone through 2 inner tubes in a week. The wheel has spun ripping the valve cleen off both times. I think the rims are original. Before I go and buy a new tyre or tube I could use some advice thanks Leggins

When the Rev-50 is in gear, with the clutch pulled in, the kickstart will not engage. Does anybody know what needs to be done to remove this restriction? My son now finds it very annoying having to always select neutral in order to start the bike. He can at times kick it over with the clutch out and then quickly pull the clutch in as it starts, but this is not always convenient according to the predicament. At the moment we have removed the clutch-side sidecover off the engine, but cannot see anything apparent. On another topic, I saw reference in the past to a 75cc kit for the Rev-50. Can anyone point me to some info on this? Thanks, Jim

I seem to be going through a plug a day at the moment. It always happens after about an hour and when accelerating away in 4th or 5th gear. I'd spend most the time in 2nd or 3rd then go onto a road or track in 4th or 5th, accelerate away, at which point it dies. The plugs always look black and slightly suity. I can't figure out what it could be... Anybody know what could be the problem? The engine always seems fine up until the point it dies.

Often on here we are commonly reading comments by people about service and products they are unhappy with. Occassionaly we are able to pass on our positive experiences with people and companies, and this is just such a letter! I just wanted to take a minute to thank Beta USA not only for their top notch service but the knowledge about Beta that they have passed on now for some 20yrs. I know that many people in North America share the experiences I have had too. I am just so pleased that my son is able to ride such a great bike for him and that Beta themselves offer such a wide variety of machines to suit kid's of all ages!!! We just received our 06 Rev80 which much to…

I've been told there's a new carb option in town...it allegedly has mythical qualities-improves fuel consumption- (by not watering the land with petrol), improves power and obliterates choking. Before forking out 180 of your English Pounds, does it improve performance? Now I seem to remember someons stateside posting that someone had a Rev3 ona dyno with Dell'Orto carb and significantly improved power. But I'm told this is a flat-side carb- was the one ref to in the prev post such a carb or different model? I understood flat-side Kehilin carbs are temperamental, but great when working well- would the same apply to the Dell'Orto? I have NO knowledge of the murky world …
