Putting the Rev-3 out to pasture... I picked up this '06 2.9 last weekend at the Rock Creek National in Tishomingo, OK. The Beta has been a solid reliable machine, but my brain thinks I'm ready for a change. This new machine is very snappy and it actually turns quite well now that Sherco is using the Beta fork. Gents, This will probably sounds a silly question but I'd like to understand how people use their bike's range of gears. What I mean is: I've recently bought a rev3 250cc and took part in a couple of trials events, one was on dry conditions while the other in the wet, in both occasions I drove most of the stages in 1st and hardly used 2nd, is this correct? Do any of you use 3rd and 4th gear? And if so, when? What are the advantages in using higher gears?

Hi, Need some help with the wiring with my 1994 Beta Techno. I bought the bike and the lighting was removed. They also removed the cooling fan. I have been trying to get everything back together but the only way I can get the fan to start is if I give it a push. The lights are dim on the bike also. I think it may be the voltage regulator but not sure how to test. Thanks in advance for the help. KMS

changing plastics on a techno ? are trials bikes like other mx bikes in that you can get different color plastics etc to really change the way your bike looks? if so are there aftermarket cataloges for such things and other parts. im sorry if its a dumn question just used to the way offroad bikes have alot of stuff you can change around to make the bike more your own. thanks. mines a 97 techno if that matters

Hi All, my brother recently baught a 2006 rev 3 250cc from a UK beta dealer. He was told on delivery that the bike has running in jets in the carb. He was told to ride it 5 or 6 times then return it to the dealer to have the jets changed. Since day one the bike has run smokey on choke, even when warmed up (off choke) it feels choked (not crisp) and he has to change gear a lot as it fluffs out when revved. He has now used it 5 times without improvement and it is due to go back to the dealer. He was also told to run the fuel at 50:1 but the book states 66:1 ? Hi I have an 2006 rev3 250 and i feel that first gear is too slow and second is too fast for some sections. Is there any way i could make first gear to be half way between standard first and second?? Different sprockets - what size? Your help appreciated, Thanks Basher.

where can I get carbonfibre type fork leg protectors. my 06 betas forks are just asking to be scratched. I see miller has some on ebay but not to keen on them . picture on page 52 tmx this week looks okay.

I am contemplating a rev3 as my 1 and only modern bike! just to see what i am missing using an old honda/fantic..... i am looking at say 2000year up to a 2003 .any pros or cons from this narrow span? what about 250 versus 270 ??? anything else i should know or be aware of? thanks S.M.

I think I've posted about this before (sorry) but I've tried everything suggested and I'm still having problems - just wondered if anyone has any more advice they can offer! It's an '03 250 and takes 10-20 good solid kicks from cold before it'll start. When it finally fires up, it runs very rough and spluttery for a few seconds (as though it's flooded) but clears quickly and from then on runs perfectly all day long. Once warm, it starts first kick every time. I've checked the spark (fine) and disassembled and cleaned the carb several times (including checking and resetting the float height). After spending a year in the BMCA riding pre-65 i deciced to get something that stops(working brakes), bounces(suspension that moves) and weighs less than 100kg. I bought a Beta 270 from BVM Moto, yes i was getting the 200... . After 2 hours of continous riding i got a loud piston knock at top of travel. 2 Betas i was riding with had no problem. I am using super unleaded and Castrol TTS 50:1. Have not tried since to see if it happens when cold. Will try today. Where do i start?? Thanks

Dear Beta people, Can you help please.. I am trying to remove the petrol tank on my 06 REV3 250cc (just got it today). I am struggling to get it off..is there a special tool or technique I need to use. Any replies welcome

Anyone know if a 1998 Techno front mudguard will fit a 04 Rev3?

Is there an obvious external way of telling apart a 250 from a 270 engine? apart from the owners word! Maybe serial# or markings? cheers S.M.

I have a techno 95 which overheats after about 10 mins of on road trialling.i have got the fan running all the time but still boils over out of expansion cap. any ideas as to why as i am stumped???!!
