Can anyone tell me what weight Marzocchi 3.8 engler fork oil is/or was when new? Also does anyone know how much oil the OE shocks on my 83 240 pro are supposed hold? They don't seem to be leaking , but have a definite lack of dampening! Thanks for any info... Glenn

I have a '92 with upside down forks. Is there a way to drain the oil without pulling the forks? They appear to have no drain plug so I would have to pull them off and dump the oil.

After reading about Fantic Motor entering the 250GP road racing class and also running enduro machines in the Italian Enduro Championship I wondered if they were going to produce a new trials bike so I sent them an e-mail to find out. This is there reply..... "Hi sir, yes, we will show a prototipe of the 2006 year model Trial ( not only a specialist bike , but also for a non professional use ) in the next EICMA EXIBITION of MILANO in Autumn. Hold on, a new FANTIC TRIAL IS COMING ! BEST REGARDS FANTIC MOTOR ITALY" Good news and I for one cant wait to see what they come up with

Hmmm it seems Fantic are having a tough time on the 250 GP circuit at the mo! Im sure more time is needed for them to sort the bike fully tho and become more competetive. I wonder however if they will turn their attention to trials again soon as they may find it easier to compete? Whadaya think?

Well hello all!! I just bought a 83 240w/ a spare parts bike. I was told the bike had ign. problems and it finaly died! I replaced the coil/trigger plate behind the flywheel and rewired the whole thing.(lots of solder and heatshrink!)... Anyway I was actualy riding her for real for the first time,I hadn't been on a trials bike in close to 28 years, and was impressed with it. As I turned back to my shop and reached for the kill switch I added, it died... no spark! So I pulled the seat&tank off to inspect and found the coil leaking oil So to make a long story short... Does anyone know where I can get ignition parts for this old girl????? or how to update wh…

I have a 1993 clubman 80 (air cooled) that is new to me. Does anyone know what type of power to expect from this bike? It does have some pull down low that lets it chug at very low rpm on relatively flat ground. It also has some top end pull when it "gets on the pipe". However, the mid range is pretty flat and opening the throttle can just make it bog. I'm wondering if this is normal or if some improved jetting may help. It is intended for a new 100 lb rider and the lumpy powerband will make it more difficult.

I've posted this here before with no luck. I would love to get my hands on a set of Brema/Fantic pants circa 82-83, hopefully new, but nice set of used ones would be great too. Looking for size 32 waist, but willing to grow into any size bigger! Cheers, Steve

I have some kick starter slipping on a 1993 Fantic 80. One gear mounts to the clutch cover and one is mounted on the cases behind the clutch. Is there a standard clearance that should be maintained?. (too much may be causeing my problem.)

I have recently acquired a 240 fantic and have found that it has a tendency to find neutral from both 1st and 2nd gear.(slipping out of gear) This is getting to be Bl*%$y annoying. any ides what the cause and remedy may be. I have the engine out of the frame at the moment and am about to start twinling the old spanners. Also does anyone know of a disc braked front end which will fit without too many skinned knuckles and sweary words. (The brakes on it are as effective as putting my feet down , and i have narrowly avoided a few trees with my kamikaze techniques on steep down hills) Thanks in advance for any help!!

Just had these back from a pal of mine who machined them out for me, yet to try the bike out, any thoughts? My first reaction was how much more 'in' the bike you feel rather than perched on top of it.

Hi just wondering if anyone out there knows the model number/details of the rear wheel bearings for this Fantic? (White with Blue/Yellow tank) I am hoping to source the wheel bearings locally if possible! I also need other parts such as sprockets, but I am going to contact Bill Pye for those as he was able to supply them for my old 303 Fantic. The other issue I have is with the clutch, it doesn't seem to fully disengage (don't know if that's the correct term, but the wheel rotates when the clutch lever is fully against the handlebar) Someone suggested taking the clutch apart and cleaning burs? Does this sound correct? I am not a mechanic, but want to sort this out if…
