OSET Electric Trials Bikes

Hi All, Looking for some simple help and guidance on a Lipo Conversion. My son is very small, so I'm looking to save weight and increase range! Does anybody have a list of exactly what bits I'll need to oder from Hobbyking, to do the conversion? Understand that I'll need a balance charger and monitor/alarm system on the battery pack itself. But, what will we need in terms of connectors and the batteries themselves? Many thanks in advance! Scott

I have seen video's of dads on the 16" bike. Has any dads busted this cool little bike? I'm trying to teach my 5y old trials riding, but my smallest bike is a ktm 250 xc. I'd hate to taco his wheels or break the frame. Any coments whould be helpful.

Hello, I am after a seat and rear mudguard unit for my sons Oset 16 2013 I think… It’s the old version so one panel… Can’t get new anywhere, has anyone got a used one they would sell or any ideas of something I could modify to fit that looks fit for purpose? Thanks in advance! Mark

Hi can anyone help me to understand which bearings would fit the rear of a circa 2010 Oset 16 24v. The rear bearings have just fallen out and they were the semi encased push bike type ones - shot to pieces now. Fell out when i replaced the sprocket and chain. But i would like to know if the current size bearings for a 16 would fit or does anyone know a hack or suitable replacement for the 24v 16. Keen to get the bike running again. Hi,can anybody shed some light on where I should start with my sons 07 24v 16 oset, it dos'nt seem to have the same power as his 12.5. I fitted a new set of batteries and this has made a great difference to the length of time he can ride but the actual power the motor puts out for him getting up climbs etc seems to be lacking. Ive tried disconnecting the limiter but this makes no difference, I'm now thinking,new brushesin the motor or a new motor? Can anybody point me in the right direction or had a similar problem? THANKS

My sons oset just stopped moving all of a sudden. All lights are on the handlebars, but it just isn't moving. I've checked the wires and they all seem to be connected properly.. do i suspect the worst in that the motor is broken or could it be something simple?

Hi All, Im looking for help for Oset 16 Lithium battery options. In Australia I am having a very difficult time getting my hands on a lithium battery for the Oset16. I have spoken to the Oset importer (under triumph now) and they had no idea what I was talking about which is a little concerning. But I have seen several posts of people wiring 18v drill batteries in series and having great success. I thought I would reach out to this forum and see if anyone can give advice about this being successful or not and what sort of range to expect. Hi all, I've just bought an non running Oset 16 36v 2012 model I think. I got it to work for about 5 seconds, but now nothing. When I turn the key switch on the relay clicks and soon after the controller clicks. I'm fairly sure the batteries are good and I have three red lights on the handlebar. As soon as I turn the throttle the motor will clunk a bit and then nothing. All the connections seem ok, I've read loads of stuff about measuring voltage on the relay and controller but my relay is all sealed and not really sure what I'm doing anyway. The motor seems quite clunky when I rotate it from turning the wheel, is this normal? guessing I will ne…

hya i purchased a oset 16 36v of a friend as a non runner. i got it home had a tinker with it and found a red wire hanging down it has a inline 240v fuse. one end went to another red wire with shrink tube and the other end wasnt connected. any light on this or can and body post a pic of where it goes to. any help would be great. il try and upload a photo

Well folks, I bought an old oset off a friend without doing any research, what can I say, it was before Christmas and I was panicking! Anyway, it's the 24v 500 Oset 16 Spider but I bought a 36v Boost bike battery which certainly peps it up a little (a lot). Pretty quick top end, actually quicker than my 24r to be fair, the 24r is carrying me tho, and I'm definitely at the top end of 90kgs. After breaking small 9mm chain earlier today (I'm pretty sure it was fairly old) I was thinking of upgrading to a heavy duty sprocket and chain set (9T front and 68T rear) but I'm not sure if the sprocket will fit the front motor as it doesn't had the D shaped fitting. We just picked up an OSET 16, and an OSET 20 yesterday. OSET 16 24V needs new batteries. Anyone have a good battery recommendation? Amazon has a bunch of 12v/14ah batteries or should I go through OSET? Charger was also having issues so I got a new one on order from Amazon, specs all match OEM charger.

Have just fitted some shimano slx hydraulic brakes to a 2015 16.0R. Well worth the purchase. When your buying try to get a 1000mm left hand lever. This will fit perfect on the back. Shortening the front pipe is then simple and can be done without the need to fully bleed them if your careful. Chain reaction cycles and bike-discount.de are about the cheapest. Also fitted a boost battery lithium battery. Easy to fit with all connectors and 7.2 kg lighter.

Hello everyone. My boy has had his oset 16 since he was 3 and rides it well. We went to take it out the other day and noticed no power, quickly located to the fuse carrier had a loose connection but on reinstalling everything I snapped one of the potentiometers for the speed, I have installed a new one and it all tests out fine ie 20k ohms for full turn and 0 ohms when in the lowest position. The potentiometer seems to work fine but will only allow 13v output to the motor not the full 36v it should be. Does anyone have any ideas or have experienced the same issues? Many thanks

Hello, I am curious about your experiences with LiPo packs. Recently my daughter moved to 16" Oset. I made 13.5A S8 LiPo pack for her 12", it was good enough for half a day riding G class competition. The main battery drop was actually happening between stages on the crossings. What is your experience with 16" Oset and LiPo-s, what amperage you have and how long and what distance it can cover?

I've been researching various lithium (LiPo4) battery solutions for the Oset 16. A cheap alternative I found has been this Eco-Worthy brand which are 12v 10Ah. They are the same size as the stock batteries so I will wire in series to get 36v 10Ah. - On the Eco-Worthy datasheet, what values should I be looking at to ensure the Oset can draw the power required from the batteries? Looking at a total of $189 plus a charger. - Can I use the standard Oset charger designed for lead acid on the Eco-Worthy lithium as it has a BMS installed? This is the data sheet on the Century PS 12100 lead acid battery I'm also considering which is very similar to the stock batte…

Hi, i have bought a second hand oset 16 36v spider for my daughter for Christmas. Taken her out on it and it seems really slow. On full throttle with the speed adjuster all the way up it goes walking pace. The guy I bought it from said the batteries were about 1.5 years old and it had been stood for about a year. They are lucas 12v 10ah batteries, i have tested the voltage in each battery after being fully charged and are showing to be 12.7v each. Tested the voltage just before motor on full throttle and its showing 37v. I've also taken the motor apart and tested for any signs of damage to the bearings and brushes. All seems fine. Hey, I am looking to update my kid’s 12.5 Oset to the next (16) size. I hope this is an okay subforum to post this question. Anyway, I initially was looking for the Oset 16 bikes, but then I noticed there are some alternatives. Beta has their minitrail, Mecatechno has something. Maybe some more alternatives. My question is, how do they compare to each other? Here, where I live Oset is for sure the most popular, but a few hundred more expensive than Beta is (new), Mecatechno not sure is available locally. As far as I understand all still come with acid batteries, or are there any that are already with the LiPo available out of the store?
