OSET Electric Trials Bikes

Just interested in how old people's kids are when they start riding an oset 12.5?? I'm forward planning ( saving money ) for my boys 2nd birthday ( next year ). Just thought I'd enquire the average age of kids getting started and does anyone use stabilisers to start them off?? He's on a balance bike already at 14 months and loves watching me on my 4rt and trials DVDs, so I would like to get him started as soon as I can.

Can anybody tell me what year my sons Oset is ?, just taken some pics to sell it and me and the other half are having a BIG dispute over how old it is ?, bought in new, the missus reckons we have had it 7 years and im saying 5 years.... What year is it please . Thanks

Hi guys, is the 3" tyre sold by Oset still the only option, or is there a better / grippier alternative, same for the front as well?

I'm not willing to risk with LiPo and don't really want to geek out on stuff or have some super fancy setup. Any problem with just buying 3 of these and running in a 3s setup and then either charging as 3s or having a separate connector to charge them individually? We purchased a second hand oset 12.5 for my 3 year old son. It has subsequently developed an issue where is cuts out and we have to turn it off and on to reset the motor when he accelerates hard from a stand still. The bike will not cut out if we hold the back wheel up and accelerate hard so it seems to be a load issue. If we help him accelerate at half throttle the bike runs fine and there is no issue. We have looked at all the wiring and replaced all the fuses on the bike that we can see but the issue persists. Has anyone encountered this issue?

I've been following trials central for a while but have only just joined the forums, which have been of great use over the past couple of years. We have been using Oset's, first a 12 inch and for the last 12 months a 16 inch 36 volt bike for my 5 year old. The Oset was second hand when we got it and we just decided to buy him a new bike now he's been competing for a few months. After looking at Oset and Gas Gas versions we opted for the Gas Gas, which was quite a bit cheaper at £900 (36 volt). I was sceptical as everybody else seems to favour the Oset! So I'm looking to ride some local mountain bike trails and workout my working line German shepherd. Just discovered electric trials bikes today, and been looking at osets 20/24s. Would these bikes work for this purpose? I may try some light trialing, but what attracted me to these is they look like mountain bikes. There's no laws against electric bikes here on trails here in Kansas. but between the dog and the bike, I'm just not trying to attract to much attention so that people will complain. people generally don't care bout that kinda stuff around here anyways. Any advice is appreciated!

Hi all, I am looking for a little help with my daughters 2007 16. 24v. I recently purchased a new throttle assemble for the bike from the UK as we don't have the dealer network here in New Zealand. The original throttle. The new assembly. The dealer sent me the newer version assembly with a different connector but also the corresponding connector half to replace the one on the bike. After fitting the new part I found that the bike runs fine but the LED display on the throttle is not illuminated. Has anyone come across this before? Hi all, I've recently bought a 2nd hand 20 racing, I believe 2016, when you open the throttle there is a very slight hesitation, its all the way through the range and adjusting the response doesn't seem to get rid of it, is this normal? my son doesn't seem notice it but it is there and must be hindering his riding. Also how to people wash their bikes? I've been told a jet wash isn't the thing to do. thanks for any help Wayne

My son is almost 3, and rides an oset 12.5, he's going really well on it. I want to get him some proper kit now, but he's quite small so struggling to find stuff small enough. He currently uses a bmx style helmet, but after a full face helmet? Can any of you recommended anywhere were I can buy the really small stuff? And can anyone recommend a decent helmet? Hi, I am using the motor from a Oset 20R for a project bike (started as a kart but after getting the motor it is too perfect for the bike project). I need to reverse the rotation of the shaft, which is easy enough but throws off the timing. Does anyone have info about timing these motors? Thanks

Hi all, got one of these second hand for the kids, im having a bit of a problem with the power, it seems to only give full power for about 30 seconds then gradualy gets slower and slower until it wont move all this in the space of maybe a minite and half, then i turn the key off and back on again and it repeats this. Any ideas on what it could be ?

Anyone know where I can get a workshop manual or exploded views for a 12.5?

Hi all. Another question............. As I have both the 16 36v and the 12.5 (both 2010 models), can anyone suggest a battery that will increase the running time on the 12.5. Do I need to look for a larger amp hours battery? The 12.5 appears to lose power after about 1hr of on/off running, but still work (albeit slowly) the 16 on the other hand is still rocketing off. Also another quick question. Will the 600w motor from the 16 fit the 12.5 (with a change of batteries)? Sorry for these questions, but the smaller of the 2 children gets a bit frustrated at his brother roaring (albeit silently) off into the distance. Many thanks Andy

Hi, I've installed a kelly controller onto my sons Oset 20 which is running a genuine oset lithium battery pack. I've followed the wiring diagram from kelly and also from an article by Mxoset on here. The controller powers on and I can configure it with the laptop but I'm not managing to get it working the motor. Any help/advice appreciated.

Hi All I have a new 16 36V Oset and im not sure about the batteries... On full charge they last for about 40 minutes to an hour then the light drops from 3 to 2 and the power reduces considerably. My son rode it yesterday at trials practise and thats when we noticed the power drop after 40 minutes although he was riding in the wet mud. The same happened today but he was running mainly on tarmac hence the 60 minutes before drop out. I charged it up fully overnight last night and it seems to have lasted a bit longer, we will have another go tomorrow. Is the sudden drop in power normal...? Nick

Hi I have a 16.0 24v oset will a 36v motor and swinging arm fit. From what i can see the frames for the 24v and 36v are the same, but the swinging arm seems to be 3mm to wide. Thanks DAZ
