OSET Electric Trials Bikes

Looking to buy an electric bike for a 6 year old, just out of curiosity (and for spare parts excessibility where I live) - is the Gas Gas mini electric bikes an Oset or mecatecno OEM? Thanks

hya i purchased a oset 16 36v of a friend as a non runner. i got it home had a tinker with it and found a red wire hanging down it has a inline 240v fuse. one end went to another red wire with shrink tube and the other end wasnt connected. any light on this or can and body post a pic of where it goes to. any help would be great. il try and upload a photo

Hi All, Hoping for a little wisdom. My lads 20" stopped running the other day after riding with the rear brake dragging a little. Anyway, the current situation is, the keyswitch powers on the throttle LED's showing full power but the relay doesn't click. I've checked the switch feed to the relay and I don't see any voltage. The switch feed seems to originate from the controller, so my only thought is that the controller is goosed. I've also tried another set of batteries just in case they are on low charge. Hi, I'm after a bit of direction with a power issue on my sons 36v oset 16. Turned the key last night after cleaning it Sunday, throttle lights up but no power to motor. Controller clicks as it should when the key is turned. Potentiometer was looking rusty so unplugged the connetor, tried the throttle and the motor kicked but didn't run. Could it be a Potentiometer issue or more? The bike is a 16 with red frame, I've read online that these were released in 2010 and 2010 only but not too sure so don't know which Potentiometer to order! Any help would be much appreciated, Thanks, Lee.

Hi all, Ty rode his 12.5 about a week ago with no issues. Today we went to ride, and I found no lights on the throttle, and no power. I thought maybe the charger hadn't been fully seated, and reconnected it, but the charger remained green, and no power came to the throttle. Things I've done: Checked the main fuse above the battery which was good Checked voltage across both batteries (~12v) and the two together ~24 Tried to check resistance across the key switch,( which I was suspect of) I expected to find no current with switch off, and no resistance with switch on, but I couldn't get any current in either position. Hi, I have just purchased an oset bikes (small one), but i am having trouble trying to keep the bikes at very low speed, is this normal? i set the speed with the throttle right open and adjust t down to slow walking speed, my riders are still trying to get to grips with the brakes so don`t want it any faster, when it is turn off by the key then back on again after a minute or so, the speed increases (fast walking pace), also the speed adjust seem very very sensative, i`m worried that the speed could increase whilst the bike is in use, and as this little machine is so powerful it`s quite scary to think it could take off with my little one on board, any tips or advice??

I have seen video's of dads on the 16" bike. Has any dads busted this cool little bike? I'm trying to teach my 5y old trials riding, but my smallest bike is a ktm 250 xc. I'd hate to taco his wheels or break the frame. Any coments whould be helpful.

Hi new here looking for a bit of advice on a bike for the kids, one is four and one is six they are 41" and 44" tall and both ride pedal bikes, and both started on balance bikes. They currently ride islabikes pedal bikes the lad on the one that has a seat height the same as the 12.5 oset and the girl the bigger one with seat height same as the seat height as the 16 oset He Has his seat about an inch or so higher than stock and is confident standing and flying round and can get on his sisters bike balanced on one foot and would probably ride it given half a chance His sister rides the larger bike but not with as much confidence as him she was more confident on the smal…

hi guys, first posting but Ive recently purchased a 16'' 36v for my lad and Im considering fitting a foot brake - feel it would be more benificial for his future riding with a clutch. Anybody have any experience or suggestions on how to proceed with that? cheers Ben

Can anyone shed some light on what the 3rd pin on the Oset charger does. I see there is no voltage on the charger when unplugged but once plugged in, there must be some comms over that 3rd pin that enables the charger output. Any ideas?

hi guys , anyone who has any experience of oset electric trials bikes please let me know or point me in the direction of finding out. i am debating getting a 12.5 for my 3yr old son, i guess its a toss up between oset 12.5 or crf50(which will last forever etc but maybe better to start on oset , less intimidating and safer ) what do you's think?? thanks

I purchased the 16.5 for my grandson a few months ago and just rode it for the 1st time last week. I seemed fine an we rode around the back yard until the batteries started to weaken. I put it on the charger and when I got it out tonight it there was no power. It would barely carry my 50 lb. grandson around the yard. I put it back on the charger and when the light turned ""green" I tried again, same results. I get my voltmeter and 1 battery checked 12.98 volts and the other checked 13.12. I lost all the paper work during a recent move so I'm in the dark on further troubleshooting. So - does anyone have a scanned copy of the original owners manual and has anyone…

Hi all. I have just bought 2 sets of soft Renthall grips, 1 for the 12.5 and 1 for the 16. As a relative novice to this, what is the best way of removing the old standard grips? The main one that I am confused about is the throttle grip. Many thanks

Hi. I would like to change the original throttle from an Oset 20R 2017 to a Domino el- throttle. I do have the wiring chart for the Domino but not for the Oset original throttle. Does anyone have the wiring chart on the Oset original throttle they can share? The wiring have different colours, so I would need which colour goes where from the Domino to the Oset Throttle. Anyone done this modification and have any experience? Thanks

Just got a 16 24v and was suprised to read in the manual that the tyre pressures should be 30-40 PSI front and rear. Is that the right setup for trials? Many thanks in advance.

Hello, I was hoping someone might be able to write me a shopping list for what I need to install one of those controllers to enable smooth power delivery from a standstill. I will hopefully be getting someone else to install the controller as electrics really aren't my bag baby. Looking at my local bike shop, BVM or perhaps just an auto electrician at a push. Hi, Just bought two Oset 16 24v, one is a year old and one is two years old, someone pls explain this to me, charged the same battery same amount, the older bike got about battery 3 hours in the forest while next day the newer bike lasted 1 hour and half tops. Cheers Confused.com

Hi all, I'm looking at a 12.5 for my 3 year old son but could do with reducing the costs a little so looking for a used one. Has anyone seen any or know the best people to speak to? They dont apear to exist! Surely those with kids that have outgrown the 12.5 must want to flog them so they can upgrade Cheers.
