Sad to hear of Donald's passing. He was one of the huge influences in getting me into sidecars many moons ago. A true Yorkshire gentleman! Sid & Dick's sidecars are just a good memory now. I hope you find a good passenger where ever you are now. RIP. Trev.

Calling all sidecar crews! The Norfolk & Suffolk group are again running the popular East of England charity trial on the 21st June 2015. But this time will be including sidecars on two routes. The venue is The Trials Park, Corton, Suffolk, NR32 5LE. Situated between the seaside towns of Gt Yarmouth and Lowestoft. Camping is available at the venue over the hole weekend. We have a small but strong sidecar following within the Eastern Centre. But would love to see a good entry of crews to show off the skills of sidecar trials to a new group of trials enthusiasts.

I seem to have landed myself with the job of co-ordinating the offroad display area of the Festival of Sidecars! This year, we would like to have a good display and demos of all types of competition sidecars, and I am working on plans to allow members of the public to be able to try passengering (and possibly driving where drivers are willing to allow this). Currently it looks viable to have this for sidecarcross and enduro outfits on the motocross track, and I am hoping that there is enough land that would be suitable to set up a few trials sections. It also seems likely that club stands will be encouraged. We are still at the very early planning stages, so there are …

Hi All - I am getting married this June down in Frome, Somerset and I am looking to surprise my dad. I would like to reach out and see if anyone lives in the area and would be willing to help make my dream come true and loan their bike for an afternoon.... Date: Friday 26th June Location: Frome, Sommerset I have attached the photo to hopefully pull on some heart strings out there! Please contact me on anitakinrade@hotmail.com Fing…

As I mentioned in my previous post I am in the process of attaching an old trials sidecar to my even older Suzuki SP400 with a view to Green Lanes and possibly a long distance trial or two such as the Ilkley Classic Trial Before I start getting carried away with the MIG welder I need to know how the side car should be set up. As it is the sidecar lines up with the sidecar axle about 9 1/2 inches ahead of the bike's rear axle when there is a slight toe in. I understand this is about right, please let me know if I’m wrong. My biggest concern is lean out or not. I understand that most road outfits have a couple of degrees lean out. I am not sure if this is to overcome roa…

How the hell do you ride these things!!!!! This morning I set off to the MOT station on my Suzuki SP400 and trials chair, along with two bags of sand as ballast. I now know that you can't brake and turn left at the same time. Anyway now road legal so off this afternoon with my newly press-ganged monkey in the chair and we soon come to terms with left and right turns on tarmac. I presume that the set up is something like as it goes in a straight line, but on right hand turns it under-steers and the front wheel hops sideways. On really tight right turns it feels as if the back end slides sideways under power. When we got the thing off road the fun really started! I do…

It is with great regret that the Lakes MTA have today taken the decision to cancel The Lakes Sidecar Trial and the Twin Shock Team Trial scheduled for this weekend ( 23rd and 24th July). The lack of entries in the support classes have made this difficult decision necesary. THe clash with the Reeth 3 Day was always going to be difficult but this combined with the Barbon Hill Climb and other events taking place in the area have left us with no man power to run an event up to the required standard. All entry fees will be returned or shredded. The Lakes MTA apologieses for any inconvienience caused
