Sidecar Trials

South Birmingham MC are organising the ACU British Sidecar Supreme Trial on Sunday 13th December near Cleobury Mortimer,Shropshire. There will be four classes, Expert & Clubman on modern machines and seperate classes for Twinshocks & pre 70 British machines. The course will be completely off road and will consist of 3 laps of 12 sections. Prize money will be awarded to the first 3 in each class. Contact John Wells email johnwells.sbmc@virgin.net

Wow! took place in my first chair event a few weeks ago. Whilst waiting for my chair to be fitted to my Beamish, someone else in the club had fitted one to a TY Pinky. Neither of us had ridden sidecar before and the start was not clever or pretty but the more we rode, the more we improved and at the end I was hooked, so much that I am not sure if I want to ride or go in the chair (which was where I ended up) !!! The fact that two people now have outfits has resulted in the club having a white route sidecar class for next year where the venue suits it and we hope that more people will come on board... HI Guys, Is the sidecar only Trial still being held at Canada Heights run by Sidcup MCC? I went to spectate a few years ago Had a really good day out.

Calling all sidecar crews! The Norfolk & Suffolk group are again running the popular East of England charity trial on the 21st June 2015. But this time will be including sidecars on two routes. The venue is The Trials Park, Corton, Suffolk, NR32 5LE. Situated between the seaside towns of Gt Yarmouth and Lowestoft. Camping is available at the venue over the hole weekend. We have a small but strong sidecar following within the Eastern Centre. But would love to see a good entry of crews to show off the skills of sidecar trials to a new group of trials enthusiasts.

Hi Guys , We would like a few, if possible, Trials outfit's used in the sixties, to come along to the Classic Trials Show, to go on show, or the owner could even ride it in the Sidecar class if they wish, there would be a prize for a bike that was built and used in the Sixties. Hi Have just managed to break my collar bone falling off my outfit. Was on a bike high camber and the outfit flipped, and rolled down the hill. I was thrown off and the bike landed on me on it's first roll. Clearly I need to improve my technique! I have seen photos of people riding across a camber with the sidecar wheel off the ground. However. I have not been able to replicate this. Can anyone advise? Stu

Does anybody have any experiance of what modern kids bikes are capable of pulling a chair, i've seen a couple of TY80 outfits in the dim and distant past but i've no idea of what a modern bike would be like with a chair attached. Thanks Giles

Sidecar trials are hard to find we have discovered. Sidecar trials for beginner are even harder! Normandy Club (part of the Thames Valley Trials Combine - TVTC) have said they will lay out a few trials catering for sidecars if they can get at least 3 outfits interested. A kind offer indeed I think. It is with great regret that the Lakes MTA have today taken the decision to cancel The Lakes Sidecar Trial and the Twin Shock Team Trial scheduled for this weekend ( 23rd and 24th July). The lack of entries in the support classes have made this difficult decision necesary. THe clash with the Reeth 3 Day was always going to be difficult but this combined with the Barbon Hill Climb and other events taking place in the area have left us with no man power to run an event up to the required standard. The Eboracum Motorcycle Club of York is holding a two day charity trial on the 17 and 18 April. For the first time in many years the event will include a sidecar class. I will be there on my JCM outfit for it's first competitive outing. Would be great to have some competition so we can judge just how poor we are!
