Has anyone got any advice on getting a 4rt shock rebuilt in the uk? I'm a reasonable mechanic so is it something I could do myself? I've heard that nitrogen is needed so that may be a stumbling block. Any specialists anyone can recommend? I'll do some ringing around tomorrow but always helpful if someone's been there and done it already. Thanks.

My front fork adjusting knob (right side) broke off. The cost is about the same as new car to replace! I'm wondering if anyone has found a source for odd parts? They only sell an entire cartridge when all I need is the damper rod that extends the whole length of the right fork. Also, are Montesa's known for being soft on suspension? I couldn't seem to get any bounce out of if but might just be my lack of skill. Thanks mates

Thinking of swapping the old PHBH for a PHBL on my 315. Am I right in saying that the PHBL airbox and inlet manifold rubbers are different sizes to the PHBH? If so do they need replacing or can the PHBL be made to fit the existing rubbers?

Hello everyone, i want to make my Cota 200 road legal so i can actually ride it (because there's no where off road to ride it these days) Basically it's going to be on a daytime MOT for the time being, but i need a brake light, and a magic lever which makes the light turn on when i brake. Anybody know where i can find this sort of stuff? will it be an easy fit? and will it run off the flywheel's power because the bike doesn't have a battery. It's got a horn, and number plate already, and it's been registered on the road before so i'm halfway there. And eventually i'll be wanting front and rear lights for it also, anybody know where i can find those? Please Help! …

Can anybody please explain how the chain plastic/rubber tubes fit at the front end. I can see how they fit over the rear wheel sprocket using the alloy T bracket, but at the front the top run just rests on the swinging arm, and the lower run just rests on the frame. Is there supposed to be some bracket ? I have not fitted the chain yet, but even with that fitted, it looks like they will just rest on the chain. Any clues?

Just bought a 2007 4RT It's in totally standard form, when I purchased it. Having had a 2005 and 2006 4RT, can anyone tell me the definitive differences between the earlier 4RT's and the later 2007 bikes Silencer looks different and it's definitely quieter I've read that the clutch is better, is this true? It feels good, but my earlier 4RT's both had the larger 315 clutch master cyinder and I found them ok Any other significant differences? I've heard the 2007 bike had a different cam Anyone with a 2007 4RT - Do you like it??

  16. I'm about to buy an early '80s Montesa Cota and the only negative I have heard about the bike(s) is that the kick starter gear or shaft/assembly is prone to breaking with very few sources for replacement parts. Does anyone know where to obtain these, the cost or if it is possible to have whatever it is that's breaking made? Thanks!

I"m brand new to trials and got a 2006 Montesa 4t. It was ridden pretty hard for 5 years before I bought it. I've noticed I have a lot of front fork bottom-out on small jumps. The rear seems really soft but not near as bad as front. Simple front tire bouncing takes a ton of knees and it barely moves. I see videos of so many riders who seems to flick the front tire around with easy hopping. I've tried all adjustments. Question is, how long does the suspension on a cota 4t last before springs are giving out and losing life? I had the fork oil changed recently by a tech and he said it hadn't ever been done. Does anyone know what it takes to "re-build" the front susp…

I want to fit a kill switch to my 348. The only wire being used is the black wire from stator to the coil(low tention circuit). Any suggestions on how to set it the kill switch up? One more question I have a mikuni carb fitted but on the air filter side rubber there is a gap, is there an adaptor which fits to the carb and fills the gap to the air filter rubber?

Hey guys... I'm new here and new to trials bikes. I bought a 99 Montesa Cota 315r and it is over heating. I tested the fan (shorting the plug and starting the bike) and the fan spins fine. I tested the thermo switch and it's fine too. What else should I check??? Any ideas of what could be wrong??? Last time I rode it I THINK I noticed the fan spinning kind of slower when it overheated but I shut it off fast so Im not really sure. I'm using regular 50/50 coolant mix. Please help... I wanna go and play!
