Why don't Montesa HRC market the 4RT as a Repsol replica, as featured in T & MX on 18 Feb 05. With the Repsol graphics and orange rims the bike looks excellent. This could even tempt me to get one. Mind you I've a sneaking suspicion that someone might already be looking into creating one.

just openened my letter re the bolt to be changed in kickstart system, probably what stopped production. high tensile bolt to be fitted

Has anybody removed all the ristrictors in the exhaust yet. Had my bike since November and left all the ristictors in place. After experimenting with removing the spark arrestor, i now have removed collar A front pipe and collar B middle box and the rear spark arrestor. Have to say the bike is transformed. Bottom end is as before but power feels increased and comes in with no delay. The bike also starts first time when warm. unlike before. I think this is how the bike is supposed to be but comes fully ristictored due to noise level under load. Note:- no middle box gaskets yet so have to use CR mx

At our local trial today and I had the chance to check out one of the last 315R monts (white rear guard one), great bike, top quality, and well sorted (as it should be) why the hell did Montesa just stop making it? It seems like they have a fully sorted bike in the 315, the closer I looked the more quality bits and bobs I saw...just seems a waste to just stop making it....any thoughts?

Anybody know what they rev to??

Have they remedied the problem yet? I am "impatiently" waiting for one!!!

I've got a 2001 Montesa 315r and the rear brake seals are leaking. I can't seem to find a rebuild kit, and new callipers are around $170.00 bucks. Am I stuck buying a new calliper?

Hi all, does anyone have jetting settings for an 03 Mont. It has the new needle in it (standard clip position), if that makes any difference, and i believe the main is 110. The bike keeps stalling at low revs,even with the tickover wound up leading me to suspect the pilot. It may just need the jets blown out with compressed air but it would be interesting to find out if anyone has tried alternative settings (which work better). i am located at sea level. Any help appreciated!

Have just tried first machine to arrive in W.A and find it hard to ride with slow running set at 1700rpm, am used to TLR that runs reliably at 800rpm. Initial factory setting was 3200!!! What are U.K riders setting machine at?

can anyone tell me the best way to bleed the rear breaks of a 315r.?

Picked up my 4rt yesterday and had my first ride on it today...made my first crash today too I found it a little bit difficult to drive slow on 1 gear, since the tick over is relativly high... has anyone tested the bike with the 43 rear sprocket on? is it better? otherwise the bike is great and drive almost anywere with 1 gear (standard sprocket on), would be shame to loose that

Montesa-Honda halt production of 4RT and command dealers to stop selling units. Dealers in Spain received on thursday the order to stop selling 4RT. The communication relates also that the production of units has been halted. It does not explain the reason but insist to remember to all clients on the obligated starting with throttle completly closed and waiting two minutes at idle before going. In few days they will communicate the countermeasures. As a 4RT owner I feel quite worry about this. I know that the delay of october was due to a change in the kickstarter (it touched on chassis and was re-molded), but this new seems to be more important. I do not imagine w…

Hi all... bear with me on this one..'cause i dont really know what Im talking about!! My year 2000 Montesa 315 has quite a noticeable rattle to the engine note..(gets slightly less when warm). A few people here told me its probably the crank? bearing??..and they reckon it is common on these bikes. I also mentioned to a mate that I guess its difficult to replace (for someone crap with spanners such as I)...but he reckoned there might be a shop in the UK that would kind of do you a swap. i.e ..instead of changing the bearing, I would send me crank....they keep mine, and they send me another with a new bearing already in it. If anyone has any advice..I'd really appreciat…

Does anyone know what the roller bearing numbers are for the linkage on a 315. I dont mean the part numbers as I have those. I am trying to obtain the bearing numbers/type of these bearings in order to purchase the equivilents from a bearing dealer, if this is feasible? thanks

HI all... a mate of mine has just got his 4RT here in Hong KOng. Its the only one. He reckons it feels a bit flat...so just wondered...are there any restrictors on it??...and better still could anyone tell him where they are/can they be removed. Cheers in advance for any help.

Can anyone tell me how to fix a dented exhaust pipe that is about 2 inches in diameter and pushed in about 50 % of the pipe? thanks

Anybody know where to get the larger gas tank for the Montesa? The US distributors seem to be clueless when or if they will be available. Thanks, Bill.
