  1. How do you judge the wear and if a replacement is neeeded on the duplex primary chain fitted to a Sherpa.
  2. trialsrfun

Anyone know why GJ did not ride Sherco in the SSDT having close connections with the marque?
  3. Cheap flights just follow the link,
  4. For the forks try, http://www.dynasurf.co.uk/ Paul Jackson for the wheels, http://www.yorksclassictrials.co.uk/#/classified-adverts/4543674651 Have used both with good result.
  5. Pleased to learn that you will ride it. I am currently working my way through a Model 124 which as you will know is almost the same as your bike, it too has the Homerlite tank fitted.
  6. Gorgeous restoration well done I hope you ride the bike.
  7. Not sure about a source for Sachs spares, the RTX well only if it cost very little to do, I would not spend too much there.
  8. The Sprite will be from later 69 to 71ish, I beleive the earlier 125 Sprite's had the Sachs motor the later version had a Zundapp. There was also a big fin version of the Sachs model painted all over gold! Forks and hubs will be REH (http://www.shaneengines.co.uk/)I think Lambretta brake shoes fit the hubs. When restored it should be a useful bike for twinshock trials. There was a Sachs engined one at the big Stafford Show in April. Good luck with the rebuild.
  9. Hi Myson, Paul Jackson is your man for the brake drum repairs, I have sent you a message with his contact details.

    SWM TL 320 1982

Very nicely rebuilt, good bikes the SWM.
  11. Congrats on your Bulto purchase. If you search here http://cemoto.tripod.com/bultaco.htm you should find your bike. Many people I have spoken to who ride Bultaco claim the best replacement carb is the Mikuni. Good luck with the restoration. Exhaust pipes seem to appear on the sale site so keep looking.
  12. I really hope that the new Greeves makes it into production and has some success. Beta aside every other trials bike seems to be made in Spain so a bit of variety would be good for our sport. Being unable to make it to this years SSDT (I really missed the trip) I was curious as to how they performed over six days. Maybe the experience gained in Scotland will enable Richard Deal to iron out the overheating problem and lead to a production run.
  13. I am considering one of these for my Triumph Cub, http://www.armac-design.com/Armac_Design/Clutch_Lightener.html Has anyone tried one, what was it like to fit, has it brought about an improvement to the clutch operation.
  14. Thank you for the info we now know what became of the Greeves entries in the SSDT. Perhaps one or two bikes entered in one day events may speed developement the SSDT is a biggie for a new machine.
  15. I quite agree Woody why has much more not been made of the Greeves SSDT entries it should be headline news.
  16. How did the Greeves entries fare in the SSDT
  17. Great rebuild well done. Keep it, ride it, enjoy it, should you sell the next owner probably would ride the bike. Once they are sorted a stripdown/tidy up is never so bad. ? What make are the fork legs & front hub? methinks not Yam.
  18. Brake lining material comes in different thicknesses, possibly the new shoes are fitted with thicker linings and need to be reduced (thinned down) to fit in the drums. You could chamfer the leading and trailing edges to begin with then if they still do not fit remove a little material from the whole surface area with a rasp or sandpaper, not very easy though to keep the shape.
  19. Thank you Bigfoot for an excellent video, what were you riding & how many miles is it from Kinlochleven to Fort William over the Mamore road?
  20. Hi RobF, Congratulations on getting the Bulto you wanted. In August last year I bought a Model 124 original, complete but a little untidy, it had also been dry stored for about 15yrs. After a good check over/service to ensure that it was safe to start/ride, check for a spark...YES, clean the carb and it was away 2nd kick and ran well. Since then I have trialled it sorting out a few issues along the way, the chrome on the forks is good but were it not I would use http://www.dynasurf.co.uk/ they have done forks for me in the past and made a very nice job. The chrome in the front hub was showing signs but the rear was rather poor so I had those repaired with cast iron liners, this gives a new braking surface. My suggestion is get it going, ride it and square it up as you are able, then when it is sorted mechanically you might think about paintwork etc good luck with the bike. TRF
  21. Any of the new Greeves in the SSDT or is the proposed team entered?
  22. The lads & lasses that work tremendously hard all year round organising the world class events that are the P65 & SSDT deserve all the praise and no criticism. Surely though when bikes are built from restored, recycled & replica parts it does not matter what carb or fork yokes are fitted or if the engine oil is in a tank or the frame. The riders and spectators are not bothered and the better riders will always triumph so why make a fuss?
  23. When riders of genuine classic pre65 bikes are not handicapped by section severity then and only then will modifications cease to be of importance to the outcome of the competition.
