I have not seen a Wassell Bantam before how many were made any idea?
-
Std primary sprocket setup then 13/62 or 13/64 on the rear. Simon Bateman (Nametab Engineering) now produces a 520 gearbox sprocket for the Villiers 37a and Talon will provide a suitable rear for your hub.
-
The studs you have are to the iron barrel motor

Will the SSDT parc ferme be in the car park as usual or somewhere else?

What needs to be done to convert a B40 army type frame to trials spec please.
-
As a first time visitor to the P65 & SSDT which sections are the better ones to watch the action and whereabouts are they, what time do you need to be there, what are the must do things etc?
Thank you in advance.

Love the bike, certainly brought a smile to my face. Good luck at Red Marley hope to see you there.

Dave was a brilliant rider as well as a nice guy who loved his trials riding, he sadly died at a young age. The Dave Rowland Trophy Trial is of course named after him.

The main jet currently fitted is the std 240, have been recommended to use a 200 has anyone tried the 200?
-
What is the best jet choice for a Yamaha TY175 carb. Same with the slide is there an improvement to be gained by changing from the standard carb settings which at the moment are as in the Haynes manual.
It is run on pre-mix, there is no oil pump.
-
Thank you for the info, it must be the TY250A model because the oil would shoot out to the side if the plugs were removed. I understand what you mean about the individual setup though and will use the quantities suggested as a guide.
-
The drain plugs are situated on the outside of each fork leg, above & behind the line of the wheel spindle.
-
Can anyone please tell me the correct amount of oil & grade required for the forks on a Yamaha TY250 twinshock. These are the straight leg forks with 34mm diameter stanchions.
-
Search here on TC there is some info on the RTX.
-
Thank you both for your replies regarding the brake anchor point.
-
When using the Norton Roadholder lower fork legs how are you anchoring the brake plate. Are you using a brake plate with a lug that engages in the slot between the raised alloy bars on the fork leg or a bolted on metal strip, presumably to the two bolts that secure the mudguard stay.
If using a brake plate with a raised lug to engage in the fork leg, which hub/brake plate is most suitable.

Had the 349 got more ooomph than a 350 (325cc) Bultaco?
-
Yes I do recall that one had two tubes underneath the engine and another a bolted on bash plate. Do they all have the same number of gears & how many is that. 20ibs is a lot of extra weight, is that a definite figure or just a guess because the bike has a weightier feel?
thank you all for the info, please keep it coming.

A good buy and an interesting renovation project, take your time, ask questions, use this forum and good luck.

Can any one please tell me the differences between the Cota model 348 & 349. Was the engine basically the same, what was the actual capacity of each one. I seem to recall the drive chain was on different sides but then again I may be thinking of a different model Montesa altogether. Did they have electronic ignition, timeline of production, the good the bad and the b awful that sort of thing.

Any one know if the taper roller bearings from the TY175 Majesty are a straight fit onto the TY250 steering stem or are modifications reqd?
-
Am considering fitting a pair of TY250 air cooled forks to our TY175 Majesty which has the nickel plated Godden frame. I understand that the fork yokes are the same on both bikes but bored out to 34mm to accept the stronger legs in the case of the 250, but the Majesty has taper roller head bearings whereas the TY250 forks are loose ball bearings, does the taper roller bearing simply fit onto and in place of the ball race on tyhe TY250 steering stem?
thank you for your help

Could it possibly have been made by Keith Horsman from Silsden Yorks. Keith made frames for all the Spanish bikes at one time or another.
