  1. Hi Bieze, another Belgian joined recently called luct4 (look up "What bike to buy", in "General Trials Talk") been asking questions about the Beta Rev4, and the Belgian trials scene. Welcome aboard, or should that be 'how do you do', gotta excuse me, Welsh see. Regards GaffaMont.
  2. Just voted old school myself, the word 'race' is being used more and more often in trials, and if we keep seeing "improvements" that are being forced onto trials, then they might as well give up with televised trials, put use out of our misery and call it "Indoor Enduro". Actually, most of the riders in that series are/ex trials riders arn't they. Also, on the 'old school' format, then maybe in the case of a tie, then those riders should ride a pre-elected section and ride on Time and Observation, as i believe it used to be. Lastly, from what i have seen at Sheffield nobody, the riders, organisers, fans and especially people i know who do not actually ride trials (ie, road bikers and work collegues) liked or understood what was going on, so who do they keep 'improving' the rules for ? That's better, thanks thespikeyone, when you leave the RAF, have you considered being a psychologist ? Regards GaffaMont.
  3. I'm sure that someone makes the small decals that go into the recess either side of the fuel tank, try at www.classicbikedecals.co.uk , or angliavinylart don't know if he has a web site, but he often advertises/sells on ebay, find him via 'montesa 200 decals', he made up some decals for an Armstrong Trial 320 and an Armstrong 240TA-mono that i had restored a few years ago. Otherwise, erm, nice, at least it's not yellow ! GaffaMont
  4. I will check my lottery numbers, and let you know
  5. Hi Mike J, try " www.motorbiketrials.com " and/or google " nktc " this is the North Kent Trials Combine web site. Also, clubs such as Bexleyheath and Owls usually have a club trial per month. And yep, not many rocks, but lots of mud, especially this time of year ! Regards GaffaMont
  6. Hi andrewb, Happy New Year. Just returned to trialscentral myself after a couple of years sabbatical. I have a old twin shock Montesa myself, a Cota 200 from 1982, wasn't realy interested in buying another old bike after all the money i had thrown at other projects (Armstong 320, Armstong Mono 240, Honda RTL etc etc), but saw the 200 on ebay in good original unabused condition, which was identical to the bike i started on before i had discovered slow-peds, and, it's now sitting in my shed waiting ? Regards GaffaMont.
  7. Happy New Year everybody, hope you all have a blinding 2010. Me heads a-thumping like a 4RT, bout time a got a more quiet bike All the best Regards GaffaMont.
  8. Aye what's this about frames breaking !!! "flames out" ? That's one of the things i like about the 4RT, the power is there from tick-over (i do not have a programmable throttle body, don't need it, just get on and ride the flaming thing, though i do need stableizers ). But the Rev4 would grip for ever, i would say that it has got to be the best bike for grip, but i found that i really had to throttle it sometimes to get up and over things, where the 4RT would do it just above tick-over. That's what i am getting at i suppose, i want an Evo 300 (just like the look of it) IF the engine is comparble to the 4RT. Regards GaffaMont.
  9. Sorry, i'm sure this has most probably been on here before, but i want to know peoples veiws on the Beta Evo 4T 300, against a standard Montesa 4RT. I'm on my second 4RT now and had a 08 Beta Rev4 in between, as much as i liked the Rev4, i found that the 250 engine just somewhat under-power. So what's your actual experiences, (experiance please, now't with this armchair expert stuff . Regards GaffaMont.
  10. Hi Plunger, if you just want to go out and play there is also a place just of the M25 Riegate area, look up www.theoldquarry.co.uk , and if it floats your boat, you can do a spot of fishing as well. Also, just to add to what Rabie has said, the Bexleyheath and Owls clubs have a club trial virtually every month, that have usually at least four routs for beginer to expert. All the best. GaffaMont.
  11. Oh i'm fluent in that alright. Cheers GaffaMont.
  12. Hi mcharchuk, the problem that Sawtooth has is that the bracket bolts do-up towards the wheel rim, rather than downwards towards the spindle, as all Rev3's from 2004 onwards. But there is a kit available that lifts the front mudguard via a couple of extra brackets, as is also suggested by Mudhugger. GaffaMont.
  13. Hi Sawtooth, i had a 2002 Beta Rev3 which came with add-in brackets that fitted between the lugs on the forks and the mudguards brace mounting brackets. Pesonally, i would have a chat with Lampkins on (01535) 655970, and also i am sure early Montesa 315's 1997-99 had the same Paioli forks, give Sandifords a shout on (01282) 428383. Regards GaffaMont.
  14. Hiya, just thought i would stop here first and say "hello". Although i have visited this site on and off, i have not been posting so starting afresh as GaffaMont. So hi, hope to be chatting amongst you lot soon. Regards GaffaMont
