Does the motor sound ok? no noisy bearings etc?
I would drop/change the oil asap, see if there is any water in it.
If so, run it again, ride a trial then when cleaning check the oil viewer before, sometimes water gets in via the breather pipe. See what happens.
-
Trials bikes are TOYS,(as are 99% Of bikes) so the NEC is an ideal place to show them off to the road users and I forgot M X ers!
More sales!!!!!!!
-
Went to the NEC sunday, couldn't get my head around the fact there was M X ers galor, KTM, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kwak etc on show and just ONE trials bike on the motul stand, a 300 gasser, oh and a 125 scorpa.
Come on this is a National show, why not trials bikes?
Went to the dirt bike show last year and I was ready to come home after 20 mins?
Shirty had the best stand, Not ALL the importers were there!!!!!!!!!!
It was also like a Car Boot sale........... A waste of time !!
Come on lets see 06 have a good turn out at the NEC.
-
Glad you got a GASGAS, what do you think of it? The 300 is very power full!
-
Hey,
We're off to California xmas, are there any Trials in the Anahiem area? (south of LA)
-
-
Yes, mine does the same. I found if you kick it over without using the throttle, if usually starts but if it doesn't fire then it takes a few kicks for it to go.It must be the pilot jet or something to do with the carb.Anyone know what Munch did to retify?
-
Gasser for me , look at the results, the 125 GG is the best, reliable and cheap to run. Had 2 125's, on our 7th now (06 250)
-
Anyone seen the 06 model............. YAK........ seems like they have run out of things to do, a BLACK FRAME ! on a trials bike, how unpractical is that! Lets see a new model, as for the 4 stroke, what a shed!
-
SORRY LADS I DON'T AGREE I had a 99, but after 6 trials and 4 months it blew a gasket out from above the reed valve, warranty???????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! no one wanted to know, an ex british champ who works on them said it wasn't put together properly?! It cost me
-
Don't 4 get to loosen off the tank, so it can move up and down to assist the location of the 4 screws.
-
Tooo Technical for my liking, keep it simple and A1, Buy a GASGAS
-
Try a new sparky?? fresh petrol at 50:1. You may of already done the petrol.
Good luck!
-
Just a thought, anyone off to the 'old mine' tomorrow?
Should be tricky after the rain to day!
-
I restored a TY80 a few years ago and used smooth red hammerite, you can touch this up easy and its not too expensive. Depends on your budget and taste.
-
Got a 250 pro 2006, great bike, more than enough power there for all.
Gas Gas, indoor/outdoor champs 'nuf said'
-
OK you lot, I will have to get on it and find out myself!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Just got 06 pro, not been on it yet, Has anyone used the switch on the handle bars and found it works?
For those who aren't sure what it is (like me) , GG have put a switch on the bars by the throttle with 2 settings. One with the sun shining and the other with rain falling from a cloud.
How does it work ?
Does it retard the ignition ?
I must say it sounds lovely, lets hope it performs like all the others we've had.........PERFECT
-
I've had a 2-3 year break from riding in competition. We used to love riding Mid Centre events, one route.I've just bought a GG 250 06 and wonder does anyone ride the Group Trials,What are they like?
-
Just got back from hols, we had a free show from the master at Longleat 'RED BULL' air race.
Did anyone else see his 30min demo?
Then a chat and auto's/pics.
Andy - post fixed - cheers
-
Sounds like this geezer doesn't ride proper trials, just wheelies everywhere holding his notebook !!!!!!!!!!
Try it , see what happens???
-
4th gear, lift at the same time you rev and slip the clutch, feet on pegs(of course)bum in seat area????? well, where it should be, once up feel the best postion slipping clutch or using the throttle.
Try it, but don't blame me if you flip it!!!
Practice makes perfect,
Gassers are easy to do anything on.
-
Harley's sound and look fantastic, they are MOTORCYCLES.
You can't say that about steetbikes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Don't know which to go for, had 280 but felt too much at high revs, like 250 pro 2006. Don't like other makes, Mont too much. Rode RTL back in the late 80's.
Had a 93 250 and loved it.
-
Just got back from Hawkstone, a fantastic day and result in all classes.
Anyone know what fuel the HRC team use in the 4T? cus it's NOT neat petrol, you can smell some sort of additive.
