No Starty ?
2012 250 Carb out and cleaned, getting a spark, disconnected kill switch, fuel in tank, carb getting fuel, started and ran fine last time out at weekend, but no starty now....

Ossa Reliability Issues?
Isn't this section the wrong place to ask ? A bit like asking in, say the sherco section, are sherco's good bikes.

Strange Noise On Kick!?!?
You are releasing the kickstart after kicked....yes ?

Which One To Buy?
I have heard of the issues, and mine was one fo the first bikes released with these brakes. If it still has formula brakes on it after 2 years of use, I would hazard a guess it'll be fine.

Newbie Wanting To Know What Bike Is Best For Me
4 grand on your first trials bike Seriously dude, that's a lot oh cash to be paying for your first bike in trials, and don't for one second think cause you've raced you'll be good at trials from the off, so my advice is don't be spending that amount of cash right away, unless of course you're loaded, then in that case, crack on.

Which One To Buy?
I have a 2012 sherco from new with formula brakes with no issues whatsoever.

Magnetic Kill Switches ?
Their is a few wobblers got them now. Was speaking to a guy at Lochlane with one, seen his face but don't know his name, good rider to, he had one, says it's the business, though he doesn't actually wear the lanyard itself, just pulls it off (oh err missus) when he stops.

Magnetic Kill Switches ?
Looking to buy one but seems there are various prices on these. Apico and Jitsie seem to be the most common, but is there anyone that is better than the other ?

Not Starting.
Doing a few jobs on the gasser today, linkage etc so thought I'd as well clean the carb as well. Bike was running fine before I did any of this. Stripped carb, cleaned jets, replaced carb and it hasn't started since. Carb is deffo getting fuel, bike has fuel in it, changed the plug in case it was that. Have sinced checked to see if bike is getting a spark, and it isn't ? Disconnected the kill switch and still not getting spark ?

New To The Scene And Bikes!
I've had shercos for the last 3 years now and never noticed a single bit of difference. I was told that that only the top riders can tell the difference and that was only in the higher gears at full revs, so take from that what you may.

Did he put oil in his fuel ?

Is This Too Tight
Your snail cam should be up against the lug of swinging arm as pointed out above ^^^^^^

Valuation
I wouldn't say it was a newbie mistake, it probably was only worth around £900 when you bought it, but spending £550 on it, doesn't suddenly make it worth £1400 I'm afraid.
-
Valuation
Surely that would depend on what you paid for it ? I would say ball park £1000 resale value, it is, afterall, an 11 year old bike.
-
Valuation
You recently bought it but are now asking an honest asking price ?

Queuing At Sections
I thank them every time they punch my card and thank them for giving up their day on my last lap.

Cooked Engine
I agree, if the new owner has shown total disregard and blatantly abused the bike then yes, tough titties, however, does the previous owner know that for sure, as by his posting there seems to have been some kind of misunderstanding some way along the line.

Cooked Engine
At our trial yesterday an older chap managed two sections before his bike broke, something to do with the cylinder head. He only just bought the bike that week from someone local or relatively local. Now I don't know if the old fella has been back to the seller, but I personally think it's pretty bad form that a new owners bike "blows" up first time out and the previous owner just shruggs his shoulders and say tough titties, which is pretty much what most in this topic are suggesting.

Plenty Of Choice, But......
I would say the scorpa was the better bike but is over priced IMO. I bought on 07 scorpa three years ago for £1700, I sure as hell wouldn't pay that for one now.
