Might wander across, I was going to Thirsk, but found out earlier it was cancelled :-(
-
Is everything cancelled, tomorrow?
-
I rode it too and did the Easy 'Yellow' Route
Haven't ridden the bike (4RT) since July (too busy riding the roadbike and foreign touring) and I found the route challenging with some very tight bits
I used to ride a lot as a youngster and in my 20's, but only returned to trials in the last couple of years and haven't ridden much (family and other bikes )
I really enjoyed the Trial though and had a mixed result, I would expect - 1st lap was poor (getting used to the bike again), 2nd and 3rd laps were really good and 4th lap, I dropped off in the last couple of sections due to fatigue
It was a big entry and great to see
Although challenging...............if you don't do harder stuff, you never get better and I saw nothing silly or dangerous
-
Seems a lot of work, just to save 2kg's
-
Any tips on which map, for someone returning to the sport?
Something to get me started
I've got a 2007 Repsol, with the leads and stuff, plus a PTB about to be fitted
-
Stick to private land with the landowners permission and you'll be fine then
-
Google TRF and seek out the Derbyshire lot.................they have all the route info for legal trails and byways - bike & you must be legal, if you're riding on a proper highway though
-
Don't think so, but I could be wrong
-
Just your opinion then and not everyones....................some like them and others don't, same with all bikes
-
Very sorry to hear that...................John and Sonia are lovely people
Get well soon, Sonia
-
Depends on your point of view.......................a van is always a van
Never going to be be a high performance sports car with similar road holding, is it
There may be better vans to drive...................but personally I can't see the point of 175bhp in a van, with the aerodynamics of a shopping trolley
I couldn't be doing with a rusty Vito/Sprinter or a T5 with DMF/clutch or electrical gremlins
If Toyota is reliable enough for the Taliban.....................then it'll do for me
-
Me too.............................Toyota are best vans built
-
It's gone a bit off topic........................all this talk of GG 300's
-
I have a 4RT....................there are better (competitive) bikes for sure, but for a clubman mount they are ok
I love the engineering quality and technology from Honda HRC
-
Well..................judging by the slowness of s/hand bike sales at present......................this recession is getting tougher
Tried selling a bike lately
-
Majority of people ride 2 strokes...................lighter,cheaper, easier to fix and the mainstream
I ride a 4RT and like it...................it suits me but may not suit you
-
-
Drawn a blank, though
Not many Camper Conversions of Hiaces......................so not much info
VW T4 and T5 have stuff in abundance
-
Can anyone recommend a (wind-out) Side Awning for my Hiace?
Do Fiamma make a suitable one?
I've seen the Thule ones, that attach to roofbars - but they are   expensive
My problem is the Hiace has a low roof and the side door comes out of the roof profile
Anyone seen a wind out awning system fitted to a Hiace?
Help
-
Yep.......................still got the XChallenge
Here's the Repsol
A 315 or 4RT will suit you as a playbike
-
Hi Stuart, it is me
You won't go far wrong with a Montesa as a playbike.................it'll will be fine to start on and mess about with.............whilst you get to know things
Monts are about up to 10kgs heavier than a GasGas or Sherco, but unless you're competing week in/week out.................I wouldn't worry worry
The Mont will be well built and have longevity............it's a Honda
2 stroke/4 stroke?
Personal choice......................I love my Repsol 4RT, sure there are far better/lighter bikes for a clubman 'joe' like me, but it makes me smile when I ride it
Betas are good bikes, but have some glitchy quirks
If Trials bikes are cheaper & more plentiful in numbers in UK, buy one here and take it to Spain.......................doesn't have to be registered for your own land
-
So do I..................same colour and i'm the same, crap on a 4RT
-
Ehhhhhhhhhh???
The mudguards?
-
If you want reliability ......................buy the Hiace...................all are built to a very high standard in Japan
Runs like a 4RT
Drives like a car
Between now and your test drive, keep your eyes open and lookout for all the Hiaces, knocking about
Look at the 96/97/98 Powervans driving about...................can you see rust, nope - not like Vito or Sprinters/Transits.................paint will still be fresh and mechanically they will be A1
They run twin batteries, so start like a Swiss watch
-
I have a couple of friends that are Airline Pilots (long and shorthaul) and if the planes aren't flying by this Weds.................then aircrews/pilots and groundcrew will start to be laid off...............it is serious
Whether it's a short term layoff or permanent...............they don't know
Govt. bail out...................we're broke
