  1. Brilliant TY site and Forum, seem a friendly bunch, just wish my O Level French was better.......!!
  2. Try David Silver Honda Spares in East Anglia Do a web search. Won't be cheap and pretty much obsolete or try Ebay, especially the Red/Orange ones..... I do have a new pair of Genuine Honda TLR ones, but not for sale...I'm afraid!!
  3. 1979 As a schoolboy rider, my dad bought me my first new bike a 'red speedblock tanked' Yamaha TY175 - FTT328V where are you now?? Dead and Buried?? I knew nothing about it until walking out of the schoolgates at 3.50pm........there she was, on the back of the trailer - a beauty. How lucky and proud was I........chuffed to bits, couldn't sum it up Trials as a Schoolboy, growing up in Devon was a big thing. At least 20 of us from school did it and instead of Rugby/Football for annual House competitions, we set up a Trial and got the other kids in our year to observe it and mark us. True.........how cool was that - Trials as part of the general school curriculum. OK in early 80's - never would be allowed in the 'nanny state' PC, post Y2K world we now find ourselves living in Life was way better then!!!
  4. Roll on the TBM YOU HAVE USED WORDS OR A PHRASE WHICH ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THIS WEBSITE. PLEASE DELETE YOUR POST/TOPIC. DO NOT TRY TO CIRCUMVENT THE FILTERS IN PLACE ON THIS WEBSITE version..............far better IMHO as a mag and the trials features each month in TBM are superb.Mike Rapley writes it. Tells it, like it is.............bar non.......no poncing to the Importers Trialsworld...........bought it once and thought it was complete rubbish.....totally lacking in editorial style - just like MX News every week. Read the Gasser 2T enduro test last week and it was complete tosh...........no comparisons to any other bikes in same cc class eg KTM/Husky/TM..........just a load of blah........blah Why do we keep buying T&MX?????????
  5. Sure did, The guards were for a restoration and because they were scarce.........they wanted them TY250 stuff in USA is worth big bucks........whereas we can't see any use for the stuff! The book was rare and the Rothmans series is very collectable - his wife bought it for a birthday present........
  6. I've found Ebay ace for selling and have recently sold my......... a)1986 Honda TLR200 Reflex (Trail Model) for
  7. Oh dear.............didn't you ring Clarkes Motorcycles??? Learn by watching somebody who knows on simple stuff first.........otherwise you'll break it. At least get a Workshop Manual........pls........because you're scaring me!
  8. Seems to be true the 'Manx Mountain' David Knight will ride 199 Know doubt he may be setting 'Standard Time' then.........maybe the normal form may be upset?????? What do you reckon?

Take it to Dave Clark at Clarkes M/cycles in Eaglescliffe 01642 784595......he's a good trials spannerman and his rates are usually very reasonable. Judging by your lack of mechanical knowledge..........you may end doing more harm than good
  10. This is mine and was made in Jan 1982 (confirmed by John Shirt in dating letter) I think frame is nickel plated, rather than chromed Obviously some mods have been made from original spec (wheel rims and tank has been repainted & red graphics added) but it's mainly stock
  11. A TLR200 Owner's Handbook I listed, has just sold for
  12. John Lampkin is the UK Beta Importer, so he gets it from Beta and is the best source of Beta info in UK He is not Dougie Lampkin's dad..........he's Dougie's cousin <mention of this company is not permitted on Trials Central> are a Trials dealer in Royston near Barnsley...........very good to boot. Look out their contact details in T&MX (Trials and Motocross News)
  13. Looks like they have had a significant amount of 2005 bikes that remain unsold and they've had to 'tart' them up to shift, before the 2006 bikes come on-stream. Typical Honda..........Honda UK have crates of 2002/2003/2004 unsold Sportsbikes in their warehouses, due to overproduction and ordering, in relation to market trends..... Until they 'build to order' like BMW it will hit their loyal customers, with poor residuals

  15. Italian electrics have always been suspect.............you should try running a Ducati, Guzzi or Laverda.........if you thought Betas had probs!!
  16. Here's a spy shot of Gas Gas's secret 4 stroke bike. Prototype still needs finishing.........!! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...ssPageName=WDVW
  17. No Legal requirement for mirrors. Same for indicators, because a Trials bike is single seater, primarily designed for off-road use and doesn't have a pillion seat, pillion pegs and thus isn't capable of carrying a pillion However it must have a speedo, electric continuous horn and rear reflector. This is the minimum for the bike to obtain a 'daytime' MOT. Tyres should be road legal and if you use it in poor weather or after dark, the bike must have a glass (not plastic) front light, with high and low beam, plus a rear light, which is both a tail and stoplight. The stoplight must be able to be activated by both the front brake lever and rear brake pedal

Get your Thyroid levels checked out, Woody. A friend had same symptoms and couldn't ride his bike and went to the Docs, who couldn't explain it. Whilst having tests with Practice Nurse, he mentioned his problem and she said she'd do a test of his Thyroid levels and when they came back, he shouldn't have been able to walk and was called straight in. Took the Tablets and was much better in 2 weeks. He then was able to ride to Morrocco and the Sahara on his 1150GS BMW I'm not a Doctor or medically trained, but you never know where the best tips come from. Hope you get better soon.

Can't upload the pic but i will as soon as i can, it said that i can not upload this kind of doc Yes stole it off ebay How good a steal was it???? Usually dear on Ebay
  20. The welding on the Godden frame, may not be the prettiest, but the frame is functional and strong, plus it's resistant to flex, which the TY175 suffered from
  21. As said this tank is alloy original, so guess that's where they put the fuel cap and a quick way to tell the difference between alloy and fibreglass tanks from a distance or in a picture
  22. Just to confuse things more............ This is a Godden chrome framed Majesty with a 175 engine. Date of Manufacture was Jan 1982 and it's not a Mini Majesty 175, but a full size one. Godden framed Mini Majesty's had straight down tubes and full size frames had a 'dog leg' at the bottom where the bash plate attaches (you can pick it out in the photo) This bike is very original and came as a 175 from new (not a 200) and has the Majesty altered engine cases (oil pump cover and flywheel cover) It has an alloy full-size Majesty tank and Majesty seat, plus Majesty chain guard and front and rear brake torque arms (which were machined and made lighter) Originally when I bought it - it had Gas Girlings .............however I've put Falcons on it Manufacture date has been confirmed by John Shirt Snr
