  1. I would agree with you, if we are to do one , then it needs to be done properly and there are lots of areas that I could think of that would need looking at. This is no 5 minute paper excercise! However, I would be confident that I could produce a suitable Risk Assessemnt of all risks/hazards for any given trial, I just dont know if I would be willing to donate that much time to it as it will take a long time!! This is a concern, I really dont think they realise the impact this will have on the sport if we have to do this correctly.
  2. I, the same as HRC2002 am qualified in H&S (Nebosh) and can/do do risk assessment. The Assessment is the easy thing, you need to look at all possible risks and then quantify them in relation to the perceived hazard. Thats quite straigthforward to do and I would say most CoC's would be able to do this however, the problem arises if you identify a specific hazard, do nothing about it then someone gets injured by that hazard. An example would be in one of our venues we have randomly located mine shafts that are fenced off but netherless still pose a hazard. If we did not identify them with suitable warnings and explain/document that we have told the riders to avoid these hazards, then someone goes down one and gets seriously hurt, as the event organisers, we would failed in the eyes of a court and would be open to prosecution. If Risk Assessments are going to be required then we need to have much more information on what we are accepting liabilty for to do this properly!. Without this, Clubs will get scared off by the risk that they will be having to shoulder and not bother running trials anymore. None of our clubs could defend a lawsuit from a rider or his family in this example! With my knowledge of how the system works in the business world, I assume this would be the same. ACU - More information and guidance is urgently required please!!

well for guys like you who can hop then the old fashioned full lock turn is something you would never use but for me, its the only option
  4. On Ross Danby's site, (I have just built and opening soon), we are trying something new There is a forum where you can talk to Ross and a seperate forum where you can talk to his Dad,(Mick) and ask questions how his '06 125 Gasser is tuned amongst other things. So watch this space http://www.rossdanby.net
  5. That side hop is pretty impressive - Never seen that done before I'll ask Ross to see if he can do it

Just picked mine up and agree with the dabster - Its much smoother than the 04 I use to have earlier in the year. The big noticable difference is in the suspension. Once I have had a few outings on it I'll write up a bit more on it .
  7. I havent got a clue who you are so you can say what you want. I like a bit of banter Get HondaRS back too I say!
  8. I believe theres a place for partial subscription on a site like this. Take the site as it is and thats what you get free. Add special content like rider profiles & interviews/tech updates from the suppliers/ tech forums with recognised bike engineers contributing and the like e-mag once a month etc etc.... and this could be subscription. This could be for around 50p/week or so. Comments?
  9. Yeah, mine was on that lorry
  10. I couldn’t disagree more. I don’t buy TMX but bought Trialsworld in the hope it would have what I wanted. Everything I need to know about trials is on this site except the stuff I would really like to know... You need a magazine that is a cross between the Times and the Sun!This sport has such a diverse level of intellect involved in it, that if its going to be one magazine, it needs to cater for us all. Trialsworld to me was more like the Sun. Lots of big pictures and weak on in-depth editorial content. However, I can appreciate the work you guys put into it on top of your current workloads. Seems to me that they couldnt have been serious about it anyway If they didnt plan to resource it fully from the beginning However, I did like the editorial on Ross and the comment from Eddy Lejeune in this month’s TWM. Eddy on Raga : He’s a good rider but has nothing up top!!! I do hope someone else picks up the mantle and this isn’t the end of a dedicated YOU HAVE USED WORDS OR A PHRASE WHICH ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THIS WEBSITE. PLEASE DELETE YOUR POST/TOPIC. DO NOT TRY TO CIRCUMVENT THE FILTERS IN PLACE ON THIS WEBSITE forever.
  11. Because currently, there is not a viable alternative but that may change. you never know!
  12. You have a point! The missus has one though
  13. Warm the hub with a hairdryer or hot air blower and use an expandable drift from the other side, or use a bearing puller. The Hub is not very strong and can easily get damaged if the bearing isnt drifted squarely. When replacing them if you warm the Hub again and put the bearing in the fridge the bearing should virtually fall in when fitted. Leave it for a few minutes after you have put it in to climatize.
  14. Hardly suprising. The trials community are great bunch in general but without doubt, the most tight fisted peeps I ever met Isnt that right Marky G

  16. Ditto Happy Birthday Alexz. 2006 should be a very exciting year. cant wait
  17. Fresh air dont weigh very much
  18. Thats it !! I cant wait no longer - Mines on order
  19. And will it be worth waiting all that time for in your opinion? Firefox ( and Opera which I actually prefer better) will probally have a strong hold by then. Do you think MS can pull it back?
  20. Code the videos like below and they will work in any browser. By clicking the image, the user will be given the option to download to their computer or open and view automatically. In IE, it will open up your player and run the video. Substitue the URL's in this example as required. <center> <img src="../images/videos_blue.gif" width="380" height="32"> <p> <a href="http://212.219.116.40/~sbird/movies/aprillia.wmv"><img'>http://212.219.116.40/~sbird/movies/aprillia.wmv"><img width="360" height="288" border="0" src="http://212.219.116.40/~sbird/movies/aprillia.wmv" ></a> </p> </center> Hope that helps. If you want the vids to play in a page like you have it now, then thats possible but will need a bit more coding Regards Ian
  21. When you buy a car, you expect it to have a suitable security system to stop people getting in and stealing anything dont you ? Well, IE is like having a car with no doors left in the town centre car park all day with your wallet on the front seat (amongst other things)!! (which Im sure you know however it might be of use to others who dont know) I agree
  22. This picture taken by Lee Johnson at the recent round at Alan Stays IOW
  23. Because Internet Explorer is a security risk. Its well documented with respect to its vunerablities. Particular problems arise in the way it controls the application of ActiveX scripts. Firefox on the other hand is well know for its security features and is therefore first choice for the business world and for most other people who keep up with the times. It has a variety of plug-ins providing enhanced features. A myriad of different themes and also has the feature of Tabbed Browsing. And all this for free ( that made you lot sit up !!! ) GET IT BELOW AND RID THE WORLD OF MICROSOFT PHISH CODING http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/
  24. Dabster you perve like the way your thinking tho
