The oil i used to run the bike in was the stuff that was in it when i bought it.. ! Dont know what it was.

What i have done since yesterday is before i loaded the bike up to take it home, I ran it for about 20 secs with the tap off. Loaded it up, left it for about an hour or so, drove home, took the bike off, turned on the tap and tried to start it like I said before and started no problems So the fix is really to make sure the tap is turned off when transporting it! Seems like good practice anyway Thanks for your help, well appreciated In relation to the carb, I noticed the 4T at Hawkstone had a Kehin carb fitted with upgraded needles and jets (the rider told me but didnt say what they were).. But there was a time when he went to start it and couldnt and a few other peeps had a go and couldnt either So im not 100% convinced changing the carb will help too much .

You are onto something here I noticed a flooded airbox when i got it home and I didnt turn off the fuel Tap. That would explain why i can start it ok in the garage as the thing hasnt moved from one day to the next.!! thanks for that advice

when the bike is on level ground and been stopped for 10 mins or so, the eye glass is showing the oil at the correct level? Im assuming that because i was riding the bike flat out, the oil was being thrown into the camshaft compartment by the chain at such a rate of knots that it pressurised and came out the breather? No problem when running at low speeds. ?
  8. Great video JB Gotta get one of those bikes to have a go at that

When i start it in my garage, i turn on the choke , give it one kick, turn off the choke and kick it and it starts .. I can do this every night after work and it will start every time.. I took it to the venue our trial will be this weekend and it wouldnt start Also, the venue is quite big so when i got it going, after i had been riding it a while, I gave it a blast in 5th flat out for about 20 secs and oil p****d out the breather and splattered everything. smoke was billowing from it coz it went all over the exhaust. looked like something out of a carry on film! When riding it I love it to bits.. but these little niggly things are starting to p*** me right off
  10. You will need some DivX Codecs for this. Get them at this link http://www.download.com/3000-2139-10062728.html?tag=real this will work in real player and in Windows Media player 10 (although the quality is poor) or just use the DivX player that comes with it.

yeah, i heard some talk at hawkstone about the 125 being 'all new' too and is expected to be far superior than the gasser ?
  12. atomant replied to dixie's topic in Four-Stroke
Mine starts ok when its hot without the mod.. but is a bitch to start when its cold.. what do you do to start it when its cold? Oh and by the way, I wouldnt recommend anyone buying an 05 model of this bike until this problem is sorted.. I even heard that the 4T at Hawkstone had problems starting

I like the look of that Any more info ?
  14. I have been thinking of doing this for a while but on the back of the excellent ride from Ross Danby at Hawkstone, Im going to build him a website to help with his promotion. I was wondering if anyone who went to hawkstone, took any decent pics of Ross or has some decent video footage that I could use on this new site? If you have and wouldnt mind letting me use them, could you drop me a mail to webmaster@breiddenhillsmcc.org Many thanks Ian Edit: The site when its built will be www.rossdanby.net . Its going to take some time as I want it to be pretty damn cool.
  15. I learnt that Raga throws his dummy out the pram farther than I throw mine! I learnt some new swear words in Polish & Spanish ( but none in Japanese all credit to Fujinami ) I learnt that we need to take a re-look at Sir Issac Newton's laws of gravity as Im sure hes got it wrong! I learnt that I need double glazing for the tent if I expect to get any sleep in a field with 2000 campers. Man there was some serious snoring going on!
  16. Have to agree with that.. Certainly someone to watch for the future..
  17. I thought the time given for a section was a bit on the low side. Instead of making the sections shorter, I say give them more time. Section 12 was missed by the riders completely because is was deemed too technical to complete in the allotted time. All that work that went into it too After all, I like most peeps waited 3 1/2 hours or so at section 7, to see Dougie and Co. come through.. and it was all over in a flash.. another 30 seconds wouldnt hurt surely.. On another note.. For their first attempt, L&M done a damn good job of organising this event. Its been provisionally put back in for next year so they must of done something right in the eyes of the FIM
  18. Yes, Caby did well looked to me like Raga doesn't like that sort of terrain. I know he was complaining about the level of difficulty before the event.. Put him on some rocks and hes majestic .. slippery damp earthen banks/rocks not his cup of tea it appears.
  19. With reference to observing, I too saw numerous missed or incorrectly apportioned points being awarded. In many cases, it was merely too difficult for the observer to see from the position he/she was in. When you got a 1000 or so pairs of supporters eyes around a section, all dabs will be spotted. Even the commentator on section 15 spotted a dab and announced it over the tanoy only to find the observer/s hadn't and therefore the rider went through clean. On the rules, as Dougie has already asked for, the ACU must adopt the FIM rules to be consistent in Europe. If the ACU have a valid case to keep it as it is.. I would like to hear it.
  20. Dougie Lee has some great photos so I will produce a gallery and put them on the site sometime this week ..
  21. Adam Raga
  22. Some pics courtesy of Lee Johnson ( best adjust the resolution on your screen to see them in their full glory ) Marc Freixa
  23. I agree.. Looked awesome to me.. also, the talent of team Repsol Montesa HRC may have had something to do with it Certainly a good advert for 4 strokes.. Hope Caby rides the 4T next year! Great event and was a good laugh at the Trialscentral's tent Nice to have met you all Note for Andy , Talking about Raga's a***, the missus was transfixed by the polish rider Blazusiak's a*** as he was wearing a G string! ( so she says ) Made her day that did Also, Thanks to the 4 lads who gave me a push to start my car on sunday as left the door ajar and the battery went flat
  24. Those 4RT's certainly did the business. Dont know what they done to them but they are certainly in a different league to the ones I have seen so far.. Also, love that bark they make too They also seemed to be more suited to the terrain as I'm sure they were flying up them banks with more punch than the 2 strokes. Dont know if anyone else noted that??? I was stood at section 7 for the first round and when Fujinami went through it looked awesome. Good advert for 4 strokes that was
  25. In my humble opinion, that is the most important comment I have read in this thread and the one that needs urgently addressing. Just out of interest, I went round my 28 employees and asked them if they knew who Dougie Lampkin was. Only 3 out of the 28 (less than 10%) did and that was because they are motorbike enthusiasts, I asked them, if they knew who Juan Pablo Montoya was and 22 of them did ( 76%). He’s only won half a dozen or so races in the last few years, not 12 World Titles!!! Just look at this website for formula one http://www.formula1.com/ look at archives etc ... its all there and extremely well presented.. Now compare the difference with my centres ACU site http://www.midwalesacu.co.uk/index.htm Now this is in no way an attempt to put down the ACU site but the difference is obvious. Formula 1 has huge amounts of Dosh, Trials doesn't and the difference is in the marketing of each sport! Trials needs a Bernie Ecclestone. IMHO
