Yeah, would love to see Smadge over here and see what he can do.Good Idea:)
will he be on a 250?
Also, I will take you up on your bet
-
Thanks for that Rabie what would you suggest as being a fair system for all then ?
-
The tenner is insignificant as a proportion of the money we paid last year to the ACU, its only 0.5%. I'm not moaning either, I like doing the club stuff. Its just there seems to me there is an imbalance in the finances and I have proposed a way in which to address that.
By all means suggest another if you dont feel its appropriate?
-
Thats why I said in a post above that it could work on a sliding scale on the basis of how much revenue your club raises. More revenue, more rebate. But theres probally many ways on how it could work. Im very much a positive thinker, If the idea is right then I find a way to make it work.
You are so right, no-one forces us to do it so what is the motivation?. Why do you do it? Why does anyone do it? I would say that a significant number do it because they have sibling/s involved in the sport (now or at some point) and they do it for them.
-
Not exactly charge but indirectly yes I suppose (although it appears its not the same for all clubs) Damn good question.
-
After that trial yesterday I could with some . do you have any spare
-
-
as usual on these forums. Everyone wants to form a queue and knock ideas when put forward. Whether its a good idea or not, its an idea.. and ideas are sadly lacking in trials thats why its 10+ years behind civilisation. Or maybe thats how people like it and want to keep it that way.. ???
-
Affilation of a tenner? exactly, so if thats paid for out of the hundreds of pounds we provide as a club then thats sounds reasonable.
-
Im suggesting that a few of the senior officials. chairman, secretary, clerks of the course etc.. it could be done on how much revenue your club provides to the ACU. After the main officials then more would be eligible pro rata ?
-
How did that work then? I dont know anyone who got a free licence last year?
-

As a club organiser, we put on 5 trials a year and raise a decent sum in funds for the ACU. Ok, some goes in insurance but all of it dont.
Like most clubs, The Chairman & myself dont take any expenses and I was thinking that as we provide a source of funds to the ACU that wouldnt otherwise be there if we didnt organise trials, it would be good if we got something back in return.
I'm not asking for much and the yearly registration fee being paid would be rather nice I reckon for all senior officials of a club down to a certain level.
What do other organisers think?

In regards to the event itself. Alan and his team done an awesome job. We were there on behalf of TC taking pics and video and was overwhelmed by the speed the course was erected and layout. Top quality.
My independent view was that some of the sections were a little too hard so it didnt flow too well. However, some of the riders clearly liked being in the limelight and I remember Jake Briton doing a drop off from around 8ft off the stacked wood and it looked pretty awesome.(pic below). Sam Haslam(250) looked the biz and Alexz only just lost out although he was on a 125 of course.
If theres another one I would certainly be going all the way down there to watch it again. Theres nothing like it for the youths. I hope you get what you need down there to help out Alan.
you can see all the pics Here

Radical - I like radical
I personally like the fact my trials bike has a very low slung area where a seat could possibly go. As when my foot slips away on a rock or whatever , there is enough room for me to go down without squashing me nuts
The current bikes suit the type of trials we do but I can see a hybrid being more suitable for a trial like the Scott or SSDT.
All it needs is someone to design and build one

Crikey I thought I was being cheeky with the 17st But... You lose 1st 3lbs off your current weight and I bet you would notice.
Im 12st 6 lbs (excess from xmas) and will get back to my target weight of 12st by the end of next week . I certainly notice the extra weight gain
-
I can picture you saying that line whilst eating yer pie and chips
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
I think you will notice an extra 5kgs on the weight of the bike especially over the long haul. Thats approx 7% weight gain. If we take your weight Gaz ( 17st ) and add 7% then thats another 1st 3lbs - I think you would notice that dont you think.
-
Has your spelling capability improved or is it just the program checking your mistakes that you would otherwise have missed ?
-
I asked Andy at www.graffics.co.uk if he would kindly do them if you remember. Ross Danby had them on his forks at the IOW Youth Champ.
I offered to pay but he insisted that he done them FOC as it was for Trials Central Top Man
Im sure he will do you some if you want them.

Moving the petrol tank to the 'seat' area moving the mass towards the backwheel should have a positive effect especially on grip.
Interesting idea. Do you have any design concepts drawn up?
and who is Adam?
-
Are you being serious with this comment?
-
I wouldnt like to ride a bike without the rear fender! Dont fancy sliding off the back and having me nuts drawn into the gap between the airbox and the backwheel at some speed by the backwheel Mich Lin, Im interested to know how you propose lowering the CoG when you are adding weight to the upper section of the bike
-
How many countries besides the US have a need for the type of machine you have laid out.? I couldnt ever see modern WTC trials being in the position of riding one of these bikes. The ongoing obsession is to lose weight from the bike not add it dont you think? On another note, if you seriously believe there is a hole in the market for a machine of this type, start a business and make some!

Spelling is overated. The piont of the wrtiten word is to get the msesage across. Even thuogh some words are not spelt corerctly in this post, I bet you were still able to read it.
Something way way more important is mathematical ability. There is no wrong way of doing that and getting the correct answer. Whilst all or you berate the spelling in these forums, how many of you can pronounce that you are good at maths? ( Neonsurge exluded )

I agree on the 10K being way over the top. That could be repaired for around 1K.
and lots of love and attention by mother nature
