I would concur with faussy, 9 / 48 is the way to go on a 125 GasGas
-
The selector drum slides over the gear change shaft indicated by the red line
The two rollers indicated by the two blue arrows are located on the internal profile
of the selector drum indicated by the 3rd blue arrow.
The single roller hi-lighted by green arrow locates on the outer profile of the selector drum
And it locates in a small concave cut-out indicated by the other green arrow.
This gives the correct position of the selector drum.
Hope this makes sense, It’s a little fiddly.
I would put the drum on the shaft first then fit the shaft to the gearbox.

Never had an issue with getting parts ,
apart from consumables i've never really had to order any parts [ So far ]
it has been very reliable never let me down
As for an issue with the fames , i know there was an issue a long time ago with the early Pro models
but not not with the frames they have been using over the last decade or more.
Can fault the braktec brakes i find them very efficient
the 2021 GasGas will have an Ohlin shock 2015 to 2019 had Rigers in both more than capable of coping with
anything right up to BTC level of sections.
maintenance is essential with all suspension set up's if you do your maintenance it will work as intended.
and will extend the life of the components.

The old question 4 stroke v 2 stroke
it will be down to personal preference and what you feel most comfortable riding
if you have a chance to spend an afternoon on both that may sway your decision one way or the other.
i personally prefer 2 stroke and currently have a 2021 GasGas 300 , [ So i am a bit bias ]
But looking to swap it for a Vertigo Nitro having rode one a few times lately and felt very comfortable on it.
the Montesa is a lovely bike excellent build quality, I do think GasGas isn't to far behind in regards to build quality
I don't know what level you compete at but you may wish to fit a flywheel weight and slow action throttle to the
GasGas just to smooth out the power delivery.
Sorry that i can't be more helpful

Generally the first rider away is at 9:30

I had a 92 Beta 260 Zero and the spokes in the rear hub are different lengths on the sprocket side than they are on the disc side of the hub.
160mm & 166mm are the spoke lengths , but I can’t remember which goes in which side , And believe it or not I have 4 off of each in stock.
-
Well there are few parts that's been changed, starting from the front
effectively its a GasGas front end :-
40mm Marzocchi Aluminium forks , GasGas Head-stock , Front wheel & Braktec Caliper
Fitted a Raga Reed block and Carbon Tech Reeds & 28mm keihin carburetor,
Stainless Steel front pipe,
The tail pipe is carbon fibre [ my own design ] using the longer straight baffle tube
[ 8 layers of Prepreg Carbon fibre layed up in a split mould ] using the original end caps ]
the rear shock has been replaced with a GG18330 Gold Ohlins shock & CSP Suspension Plates
and most of the fixings has been replaced with Titanium Fixings.
There's probably more things that have been done, but these are the highlights.
-
Looks like a tidy clean example of a 315
There good solid bikes , very easy to upgrade some of the original parts for some modern ones
-
Also I think you will find there’s about a 4mm offset difference in position of the disc on hub relative to the position of the centre line of calliper
-
As far as I'm aware no one manufactures them in Titanium , but there's been a few manufactured in Stainless/Steel they do look smart
-
I had a similar issue with a 2011, 300 Raga
turned out to be the CDI unit breaking down
i borrowed one off a mates GasGas to try
plugged it in and it started first kick
unfortunately there not cheap.
