It may depend on individual circumstances on that. I was charged

I know that TBM magazine have written an article on the T Ride, but I was wondering if anyone elxe has actually ridden one yet? TBM seem to think that whilst the T Ride is a capable trail bike, it won't be much use for trials.
I was hoping that it would be a little more trials orientated and therefore be a good Long Distance Trial machine. Like the Gas Gas Pampera but a fourstroke Yamaha.
Has anyone got one for LDT's? I'd like to hear how you find it.
-
I'm 13 stone and generally ride in muddy events.
IRC rear 4 psi
Michelin front 5 psi

Yes, especially when you answer the 'where can I go to practice' type questions.
Back to the current topic..... I have a slow Broadband package with Plus net (which is actually far better than the orange one it replaced) the front page takes about 13 seconds and the forums about seven seconds.
Andy, I'm perfectly happy with that, and I appreciate you providing this site.
-
Yes, if the '02 is in good condition it will be just as useful as a practice tool as a brand new bike. I'd keep the remainder of the money in the bank.

The yoke is the cast/machined blocks of metal through which the front fork tubes are located. The top and bottom yoke are joined together through the frame headstock and pivot in bearings.
If the pinch bolts are over tightened or the bike has a major impact they can fail. Apparently on a Scorpa this has happened causing the front forks to snap off completely.
It took me a while to find it but here is the link to the previous discussion on this very subject, unfortunately the picture is no longer available. Click Here

There was a good turn out of ladies at the Colmore last week. And they all put a number of good centre riders in their place. Well done
I missed Becky Cook and Maria Conway going over the logs at section 20 but here's Emma Bristow and Katy in action.
-
Yes, there was quite a lot of discussion on here plus a photo of the bike on the ground, but for the life of me I can't find the article now.
-
The front page always seems a little slow but nothing to complain about.
I've got a very low rated broadband connection, so I feel sure it's that which is slow and not the site.
Compared with the TBM site, TC is mega fast, almost every post on their forums has a long and complicated (often childish) footer/signature which takes time to appear! (And I get sick of seeing over and over again.) Looking on that site IS like waiting for paint to dry!
-
There was a posting a while back about this subject, including a photo of an SY with a broken yoke actually in a trial.
I will have a look for the post when I have time.
-
With the allen key in front or behind?
-
What a good find. That cuts out all the guessing, I'm going to keep a short cut to that web site in my favourites! Thanks.

When I had a Gas Gas I used to clean the filter after very trial as a rule. The carb every two or three events and the air box a couple of times a year.
The Scorpa carb doesn't get quite as dirty, so I do it less often but always clean the air box at the same time as it's off anyway.
Dust in the carb will block up the jets and cause the bike to run badly, (or not at all) it will also wear the moving parts and cause increased wear to the engine.
-
Mark, I thought that I had a shot of you at section 20 but I must have missed you. Here's one of Scott putting on the style!

If anyone needs the tel number for Top Farm please pm me and I will pass on the details.

Congratulations to Dan Thorpe for winning the 2008 Colmore on no marks lost!
And minding for Katy at the same time.

Buckland near Broadway, Worcs.
-
If you are in north Glos, you can ride at Top Farm, Buckland nr Broadway.
-
In the actual copy of the paper, there is also a picture of Dan Thorpe in '06 riding over the rock step at Top Farm.
(Bit naughty of the Journal pretending it was their article and picture though!)

Now this is starting to look a bit more encouraging. See copy of ACU RA below. Any chance of a training seminar on this?

PROFORMA FOR RISK MANAGEMENT AT
ACU PERMITTED TRIAL EVENTS.
2008.1
INTRODUCTION
The assessment of risks associated with the sporting element of Trial events has been undertaken by the ACU Trial & Enduro Committee, and is reviewed annually.
The steps required to be taken by event organisers are included in the ACU Handbook which is published annually.
This Risk Management Form is a simple proforma which allows organisers to check that they have put in place all of the necessary requirements, and to demonstrate to public bodies if required that a proper risk assessment for the event has been undertaken.
The only exception to this is at item 1, Start layout, where organisers are required to assess the risks associated with the location and layout of their own venue.
A blank space is provided at the end of this form to allow clubs to undertake their own risk assessment for items which are not covered by the ACU
