The Vale of Evesham trial is going ahead, apparently Ross Danby has entered the Expert route. They are putting on a road trial with two routes plus an off road trial with three routes (using the first 9 sections of the road trial) and they will accept entries on the day.
The off road part of the event is in a quarry, so the weather shouldn't make it too bad. The road trial heads off to Dovedale wood used inthe Colmore and that WILL be a little slippy!

Looking at his score of 23, it does make you realise how hard the 'mere' club team event turned out.
Ross only lost 17 in the Vic Britain!!

Leamington Victory Group Trial 13th Jan.
The home team convincingly won the first round of the 2008 Midland Centre Group trials series with 1031 points to reigning champions Stratford's 1016 with Dudley third on 991.
The much expected heavy rain which had been forecast all week, did it's best to make the trial a particularly tough one and indeed scores were on the high side with Ross Danby taking the win on with 23 marks lost from Richard Allen on 28 and Buster Reagan on 32.
Mark Hicken was fourth and the best Stratford rider loosing 33 marks from Andy Paxton on 38 and John Cowley next on a high 43 marks lost.
In an event which really benefited early numbers, the home team riders made the most of their early starting positions with Ali Haigh taking the 'easy' B route honours on 26 marks lost from Phil Ducker on 28.
The wet muddy conditions were at their worst at the Dobbo's bank sections where the majority of the B route fived the first section. Leamington's Kirby Bennett riding number two, was by far the best here loosing just a solitary mark which was a superb ride in the ever worsening conditions.
With the river crossing far too deep the fourth Group of sections near Alvechurch had to be abandoned, but quick thinking by the organisers saw riders tackle two laps of Rowney Green instead of one, before heading to Mockley Wood to complete the event.
Ross Danby showed why he was runner up in both the World Youth Championship and the European 125 championship runner by cleaning the muddy climbs and cambers of Mockley Wood, the only A route rider to do so to finish on 23 marks lost.
The next round of the series will be at Kinlet on 27th January.

I've tried most bikes and I'm sticking with Scorpa... but then I'm rubbish. It's just that the Scorpa makes me seem slightly less rubbish
-
Then they tried the XBR 500 thing. Ohh dear.

We've all heard the old 'it's only done one trial' turns out to be the Scott!

Welcome to TC. Try the STOURBRIDGE Club trial on 23 rd Feb. tel Jeff Wells 0121 5586191

Wheel bearings, cooling fan working, rear suspension bushes and leaking fork seals.
If the motor knocks.. walk away.
-
Ref the fan, have you tried joing the two wires together that go to the sender on top of the engine? It might just be the sender that is faulty.
Please don't ride your bike if the fan is broken, the engine won't stand being cooked too many times before it is damaged badly and then you will have a big bill.

ExLax
and save your self a fortune!
My be a bit weak at the end of the day though!
-
My 2t Scorpa has a small level bolt and I don't find this a problem. Obvioulsy you could strip the threads, but if you're worried about doing that, use a torque wrench.
-
I take it you still have a spark, then it sounds as if the engine is flooded.
Try turning off the fuel, tipping the bike over until the carb drains out, then remove the plug and give it a good clean. Kick it over with the plug removed taking care to keep a soft rag close to the plug hole to catch any fuel spray and the plug lead/plug away from the spray to prevent fire.
Put the plug back in and kick it over on full throttle with the fuel still off. Remove the plug again and check to see if it is still wet, if so repeat until it comes out dry. Then try starting as normal.

If it's not GJ himself, it's a bit misleading as this seller has an ebay shop.
There's been a recent change of user name too.
However, if you check out the past sales, they have a very good record and also seem to have genuine items for sale. How many normal ebay sellers have TDN shirts?

By '99, the TXT's had been in production for a few years and they were very good providing the owner kept on top of the maintenance.
I had one new and it was faultless. The rear suspension bushes were dry from new, so I stripped and greased them before the first trial and sealed the air box as best I could to stop water getting in.
Like any trials bike that is eight years old, it might have been abused but a good one will be reliable and competitive.
-
The motor may well have a different tune to the trials bike giving it more top end power.
Remember, a trials bike requires torque at low revs so as to provide grip. But a WR250 has far more power at the top of the rev range, making it a much faster machine.
I really wanted a T-ride but not at

I use rachet straps (not the hook type) and tie them around the front wheel spindles and tighten them onto the lashing eyes at approx 45degs. This means that the front forks are not compressed at all, only the tyre.
At the rear, I go from the frame behind the foot rests down to the lashing eyes, this does compress the rear suspension slightly, just enough to keep the tyres pulled down onto the channel.
-
I wouldn't even get into that suit, never mind get up those cliffs!
-
-
Can you try the spark plug in another bike, just to eliminate that?

Here's a comparison review which you may find interesting.

I got a cheap one from HEREwhich works just fine. I wash it every other trial (or every trial in the summer) and keep it slightly oily.
