  1. Just picking up on the Novogar idea (and certainly not wishing to get into the Classic championship debate in any way, as I haven't ridden in the series) If I understand the idea correctly, we are talking about twinshocks riding in the Novogars rounds with their own class but on the same route? Having organised a number of Novogar events, I agree that there is a small number of riders who would get a twin shock round. But I don't believe there would be many, our Novogar sections although suitable for clubmen, certainly aren't set out with twin shock bikes in mind! Wouldn't this idea simply kill of the twin shock championship completely rather than encourage it?
  2. Well done, although I'm amazed that you didn't set fire to the whole lot!
  3. You will have to wait until a bit later in the year for Wrighty to confirm next years show dates. I can pm his land line number if you need it, but there's no point in asking just yet as I expect he hasn't a clue himself at the moment. .
  4. Before you take anything apart, make sure that the crank case isn't flooded! Turn off the fuel, put in a nice dry spark plug, kick it over a couple of times and see if it now comes out wet. If it does, you may have flooded the bottom end. Get the fuel out but be careful that you don't set fire to the bike when you do it. When you can put the plug back in and kick it over and it comes back out dry. Then and only then turn the fuel back on and expect it to start.
  5. My lad had a 2001 TXT 200 a couple of years back and it had more than enough power to do anything he wanted. I think it was actually 163cc, it needed a lot less revs than the 125 of that era, which would probably make it more suitable for a begginer. It was a lot easier to start than the 250 but ofcourse, they weight the same. Here it is going over a log with a mate on board.
  6. :chairfall:I checked out the cost of a new three bike trailer a while back and decided that I could build one cheaper myself.
  7. Now there's a damn good point! It makes you wonder; if a motorcycle dealer is 'trying it on' like this for a meagre
  8. The dealer accepted the contract when they took your money, unless there is a claus allowing for exchange rate fluctuation, they are being unfair to you.
  9. Unless you do lots of road trials a year then the cost of the ACU's road insurance isn't exactly excessive at

    rev3 no spark

The CDi on the '04 is different from the '03 model, the 250 is also different from the 200, I know as I tried swapping the two when mine went. (Not sure if that was the first time or the second time it went though?)
  11. I had an '02 Scorpa which was fitted with half a link from new but the '05 must have different size sprockets as it's got an even number. No idea why they would do that, I can't believe one more or one less tooth on the rear sprocket would have made that much difference.
  12. Only my view as somone who has been involved with a number of road racing teams in the past. If you are riding at a high engough level, for a team and all things are equal, (Bonuses, support, team set up etc) then the only thing you need to think about is "which bike will I loose the least marks on?" I really like the Scorpa SY250 but I would suggest (and this is only my opinion) that it may cost you a few places in an event compared with a Sherco. Finishing places are important as a proffessional rider and I would choose the Sherco. Now, if you have to buy your own bike and run it for a season, that's a different scenario, the Scorpa may cost you less money. As a clubman myself (and not a very good one at that,) where it doesn't really matter if I finish in 15th or 20th, I would choose the SY It's a close thing. Try asking the Sherco team for a better deal to make your descision an equal one.

    rev3 no spark

If you have an 04 Rev3, there is a huge (dare I say 99.9%) chance that the stator or cdi will pack in. Then once you've changed it for a new one, there's the same chance it will go again..... mine did. It might be worth spending the extra and buying a full after market ignition system. Apparently, this gives a permanent cure. Try contacting a well known trials dealer in Stroud. I believe they may stock such an item.
  14. We were up there 12-18 months ago and a copper on a white XR250 pulled up and checked the registration details of my car and trials bike, but had no problem with us being there.
  15. I bought a pair of mild steel footrest mounting brakets from a well known trials dealer in Stroud a few years back. I think they were only about
  16. That's just what my other half says that I think. Now you've gone and given her some ammo! The posts on the TC forums are certainly the best moderated and sensible out of the forums that I've read, some of the drivel that posters write (bash out with gauntlets on) is complete rubbish. I think this is a good idea. We are now reminded of the implications of posting something which is against the spirit of the site.
  17. Just to clarify the situation (and I think the idea's a good one) what type of thing would cause a square to light up? And, do different crimes carry different penalties?
  18. Four little red squares. Does that mean four strikes and you're out?
