  1. Richer meaning fuel to air or oil to fuel?
  2. Carefully prise the brake pads apart, this will give you a bit of free play with the disc. (But remember to pump the pedal before riding!)
  3. I hope you don't mind me stating the obvious, but the fan's not stuck on is it?
  4. The Stratford club will have a stand specifically concerning the Colmore Cup trial which is the oldest trial in the current calendar. The club would welcome any information relating to the Colmore, especially old programmes or news paper clippings. If anyone has anything of interest, please bring it along to the show, if you have something which you want to keep, the club would appreciate the chance to take a look and maybe make a copy. There is some debate as to the number of Colmores which have been run. The trial is approaching it's 100th aniversary but due to wars, f&m and other cancellations, it's believed that there have actually only been 80 or so events, so any information which would confirm this would be really appreciated. Finally, there will be some excellent Colmore machines and trophies on show, but one is missing. It's the Cranmore Cup awarded to the runner up in the Colmore. It's disapeared fairly recently, so if anyone has it please bring that one along to the show and make Wrighty a very happy man! I hope to see you there. Missing- The Cranmore Cup.
  5. Thanks for that link. Anyone know if Jarvis was riding a standard Trials bike? The Press release obvioulsy came from a KTM source and doesn't say much about the other makes.

    Buying Advice

All the parts for this bike a currently available as it's effectively the same model that is still in production now. Without seeing the bike in the 'flesh' it's impossible to judge the condition, however a good condition bike of this age will be worth
  7. If you're setting out sections for a trial, you will need at least 10 gates per section (I always end up using rather more than that) so with ten sections it will be a minimum of 100 of each colour. When you've got three routes, that's were it starts to get expensive.
  8. Trials bike engines aren't really designed for this type of use, so obviously it is going to wear everything out sooner than if you just used it for trials. That said, if you keep the coolant level topped up and the gear box oil and air filter clean, it will be a big help. You could also get a 'one up' front sprocket and put that on for your trail rides, this will raise the gearing and your top speed a litttle and help to stop the engine from over revving so much.
  9. Funny you should mention this. I suddenly noticed that I was riding up the big hill climb last week with one finger covering the front brake! Second lap I tried to hold on to the lever with all my fingers and it felt really weird... never noticed me doing that before!
  10. You could always buy a staple gun and some coloured card. Cut the card into squares and staple them to any old bits of stick/branches that you find lying around at the venue. Or for something more permanent, buy some tomato canes from your local garden centre and staple the card to those. You could have; very hard - hard - clubman and easy routes.
  11. What a good letter. You could add that you hope this will not effect your future plans to build a wind farm on the land!
  12. What is the bike and how old is it? It may not be worth spending too much on it.
  13. Got it. Click Here for John Collins reply.
  14. The Chairman of the Trials & Enduro committee clarified this for us some time ago. I'll have a look for the post when I have time. If you are 16, you can elect to enter as an adult and therefore you can ride a 250. However, you will still need a parent or guardian to sign your entry form as you are under 18. If you wish to ride in a youth class, you will have to ride a 125.
  15. It's a good idea to do this little mod anyway.
  16. I genuinely feel that the Scorpa flatters my very limited ability, and I've owned at least one of all the others over the years. But then again.... I'm rubbish. So perhaps in my case the Scorpa only helps a bad rider look slightly less bad?
  17. I think Andy is still working on FAQ's, so perhaps this subject will qualify for one of those. Along with... 'how do I upload photos?', 'is my Rev3 stator broken?' and 'which are the best boots?' (I'm guilty of asking two of those myself
  18. Hey Just, keep on topic! They're talking about bikes
  19. Couldn't agree more. After owning a couple of Beta Technos from new without a single problem, I thought the Rev3 was the way to go and bought a new 250 in 2004. Yes, they changed the stator free of charge when it went; and yes they supplied an identical replacment; and yes.... that went too! Chopped it in for a Scorpa after just five trials and TWO stators! It's beyond belief that people are still having the same problem!
  20. Top Farm near Broadway Worcs, but let it dry out a bit first as it's a very steep venue and is right on the top of the Cotswolds, so when it's wet it's very wet.
  21. I would say that it's a Gas Gas contact dating from around '96. The odd shape silencer was fitted to the 350 model.
  22. If the club breaks even (over 12 months) at
  23. They charged you for having your bike stolen! That's a liberty. It does make you wonder what you've got to do to protect your property though.
