These two don't look much better
-
But that method sure does find some grip, I don't know where he gets it from!?! Magic stuff.
-
Talking (for somereason) of mild summers, I do hope that doesn't mean another 42 days of persistant rain!
-
I was watching the better riders on Sunday do something similar, at the bottom, they simply lent back and pivot turned the front wheel as they put the power on, the front wheel seemed to hover around the turn and all the way back up the bank. I guess, the wheel can't wash out if it's in the air???
Note: I say simply, that's becasue they made it look simple. I couldn't do it. Addict will probably come on here in a minute and tell you exactly the right technique.
-
The observer said everyone made it, but not eveyone looked as stylish as number two and three!
-
I must say the drop off looked a lot worse than going up did last year... especially when you and Ralph did it on the first lap. Real butt clenchers
I always wanted to put a section in a trial where the only way to clean it was to do a jump. Don't often get chance in club trials but section three over the ditch seemed to be a bit of a favourite. Might have been a different story had it rained though
Thanks also the the owner of Sambourne Farm who allows us to use the venue just once a year.... this week during harvest!
-
Thanks to all the riders and observers who rode in todays Midland Centre Group trial at Sambourne Farm.
Perfect weather conditions and a very long circuit around the farm meant that drink and fuel we the only things on the riders minds as they returned from each of the three the 14 section laps.
I will post the results as soon as they are available.

I've had some good buys off ebay, however I would never bid on a high value item like a car or a bike without seeing it first.
-
It wasn't just trials in 2001; even the TT & MGP were cancelled.
-
It's always worth sitting on the bike with all your weight after you've adjusted the chain, and see if it's gone tight.... ie like a guitar string.
If it's too tight, this can be worse than slightly too slack.
-
Thes sections are cut out and ready to mark on Saturday. I've had to shorten the course a little as some of the fields still have their crops on them; the farmer is slightly behind because of the wet weather.
The trial will feature three laps of 14 sections with each lap being around two miles in length.

Thats less than 60mls of oil to 5 litres of fuel.
-
I agree that too much is better than not enough, however there's a massive difference between 75:1 and 100:1 (Never mind 50:1)!!!! Surely we can give better advice than that... can't we????
I was only remarking on what I've seen 'advised' elsewhere. As I've stated above I'm following the written documentation of the GG handbook and using 50-1. Whats your advice Scorpa3 ?????????
Sorry, I didn't mean to criticise, I've always used 80mls of fully synthetic to every five litres of fuel, however this appears to be way too lean according to the manual.
100mls of oil in 5 litres of oil is 50:1
90mls of oil in 5 litres of oil is 55.5:1
80mls of oil in 5 litres of oil is 62:1
75mls of oil in 5 litres of oil is 66.6:1
70mls of oil in 5 litres of oil is 71.4:1
60mls of oil in 5 litres of oil is 83:1
50mls of oil in 5 litres of oil is 100:1

I know it seems as if Steve has been around forever, but don't forget he was a youngster when he started. I have a feeling he is 43 this year.
Good luck to all the Brits
-
Sounds like a really good choice.
Keep on top of the maintenance. Especially the suspension linkeage.
-
Thanks for sharing your story with us.... get well soon.
Goes to show why you should never go practicing on your own.
-
Hey I just tried this link and it shows and arial photo of the farm, if you zoom in, those who have ridden at the venue before will recognise the car park field (the one with the single tree in it.)
-
You should find a map HERE
-
Good chance if the forecast weather materialises.
-
If my memory serves me right, one of Dougies most convincing WTC wins was in Ireland in the pouring rain a few years back. It could be just what he needs to pull off his 100th.

The Stratford Club are holding a round of the Midland Centre Group trials championship at Sambourne Farm near Studley on 5th August.
I am planning to set out 14 or 15 sections around a three mile lap of the farm to be ridden three times.
Each section will have two routes, with the A route being aimed at Centre Experts, Good Inters and Youth A.
The B route will be for Over 40's, Clubmen, Twin-shocks, Pre-65's and Youth B&C (and according to championship rules.. sidecars! )
The venue will be signposted from the A435 at Coughton Court near Studley and is open to any rider who is a member of a Midland Centre Club (Please feel free to join the Stratford Club on the day!)
As this is a Group trial (a competition between the best three A and the best three B route riders from each team) it will be strictly pre-enter with no entries accepted on the day. Click HERE for the regs.
Please note that the closing date for this event is Monday 30th July.

Sorry, I shouldn't have mentioned that but that subject gets right on my tits! and no, I'm not a plumber
Let me guess... you sell rubber dingys and rent out water pumps and dehumidifyers.

Here's another subject within the same topic. Should tax payers money be given to those people who chose not to have flood insurance?
