  1. If they get away with this, there will be a big market in virtual trials riding. Or events held in your own garden.... one rider, 40 laps of one section!
  2. Brilliant, I want one! You're lad looks very happy, you must be so proud.
  3. My own personal favorite was a MKIII Gas Gas Pampera which I bought in 2003 after seeing Mark Kemp from BVM ride one in a trail bike trial. Using the old TXT trials bike engine, the Pampera looked like a trail bike but rode like a trials bike. It wasn't actually much good for trail riding because the engine never felt comfortable doing long distances on the road, but off road it was the business. With trials tyres, bars, lower gearing and rear set footrests fitted, it was perfectly at home at a club trial on the easy route. People always used to say "you're going well on that thing" but in reality it was at least as competitive as something like a twinshock Bultaco/Montesa. And I had a good excuse for riding the easy route. For trail bike trials riding a Pampera was like cheating.... but legal! Mark Kemp won the National Trail bike class of the Sammy Miller Championship on his, two years running, I never managed to beat him but was second a number of times. I finally won a Miller round on mine in 2005..... the year the trail bike class championship was dropped. The only time I've had my picture in T&MX News. Fond memories of that Pampera.
  4. I've told my daughter she can have one of these if she washes the Scorpa every Sunday until she's five. Three years to save up now!
  5. First 20 seconds is funny. Forget the rest of the 3 minutes!
  6. At the moment (27th Jan) there are already 41 entries recieved for this years Colmore Cup. Not bad when you think last year (not a Novogar round) there were only 61 starters! We may even have to turn away entries if we hit the 100 mark. First come first served! For anyone who would like to enter the Colmore, which is the third round of this years Novogar CLUBMANS championship; the regs can be downloaded HERE.
  7. No seriously... this is really good news. It's brilliant that we are all pulling together for the good of trials.
  8. Perhaps thats a 'moto' cross dresser?
  9. Wow! The little lad in the video is going to be a star. What talent.... and all on an electric trials bike too!
  10. Good to see Hillary on board officially, this has to be good for the sport!
  11. That is the general idea for the Colmore. Don't forget the weather was terrible for the Vic Britain, I was observing a section in Bedlam which we made considerably easier on the day and it was still hard - due to the rain. I can't gurantee what the other section plotters will do, but the nine sections I will be setting out will NOT be stoppers this year. Remember; it's a clubmans championship round. If the top half a dozen riders want a challenge, they've got the British Championship. No disrespect, but the test for the top riders will be to stay clean all day. Sometimes, that is very hard to do, even in an easy trial!
  12. Here's the plan...... the winner on zero, second place on about three and no one over 100. Well, at least it's a plan!
  13. Which bit was too easy? It looked pretty tough in the videos. Be interesting to try it on a GS1200 By the way... Thanks very much to Ian for posting the video's, it makes a nice change to see something as different as this.
  14. If the system is over-presurising for some reason (head gasket, crushed hose etc), it should just flow out of the overflow pipe, I think your problem is likley to be something really simple: Is the overflow pipe blocked by any chance? Are you sure the caps you are using are the right pressure caps? Are the two lugs both locating properly and turning right to the locked position? Can you see any wear or dents either to the seat around the neck or under the edge where the cap locates?
  15. Not wanting to kock a good thing, but I really wish the Eurosport producerwouldn't zoom in on the riders foot/elbow/helmet just as they let the clutch out for a big step. If only they would pan back a little so that we could see what is happening it would be so much better. On a positive note: Bou looks so confident, you'd think he'd been on the Montesa for years. A real talent.
  16. Well said KCJ, I wish I could have put it like that.

    Oops!

In fairness to women drivers, it looks like the girl in the picture was actually the passenger.
  18. Yes. 50/50 will do. Remember the antifreeze also acts as a coolant in the summer and it helps to the prevent corrosion caused by the water. So you should use it all year around.
  19. I think its a pile of doo, next thing we'll hear is how much of an impact trials bikes are having on global warming. I get far more exposure walking down a busy street. You are missing the point. You certainly don't get more exposure to petrol/exhaust fumes when walking down the street, unleaded petrol and the introduction of catalytic converters has improved exhaust emmissions on the street. (Unless you often stand behind a queue of stationary two stroke motorcycles with their engines running that is!) It's the fumes given off by trials bikes that is the issue, together with the most unwise practice of washing parts in petrol which led to this discussion.
  20. Did the noise alter when you pulled the clutch in? Or was it definately engine noise?
  21. Click on this link and you will see what you need. Scorpa History Web site
  22. I remember stripping the rear linkage down on a brand new 2000 Bultaco Sherco before I'd even ridden it and there was no grease what-so-ever around the bushes. Always worth a look before it's too late!
