  1. Don't forget the fantastic Inch Perfect Trials at Whitewell in Lancashire(google them) and Rock n Hop at Brimham Rocks in North Yorkshire(they're on Facebook). I think it' s Horsforth Club that have their own woods for practice(if not, then its another Leeds based club) and Scarborough club have Low North Park, a large patch of land for members to play on. Bumpy is a good starting point, and not far from the M62 at J27.

    Beta rev 3 2001

Arrow pointing left is off. Arrow pointing up is on. Arrow pointing right is reserve.
  3. Could be a timing issue if the stator isn't sitting quite right. Is water getting in to the cylinder? I had a bike recently where water from the cooling system was getting in to the cylinder, quenching the spark. A new head gasket sorted that one. Kick starting with the plug out will send water all over you and your workshop if that's the case.
  4. Alexz Wigg's uncle, the late Simon Wigg was Long track World Champion and was one of a handfull of British long track riders in the 80s.
  5. Welcome aboard! No, you're not just lucky, we're all friendly!
  6. Awful news. I had the pleasure of meeting him a couple of times on the Dougie training days. He was a great teacher and so approachable. And he was my childhood hero in the 70s. Condolences to all the family.

    Fork Seals

I reckon you'll be okay with those. I've had loads of bits for other bikes that have fitted just fine.

    Rev 3 Value

Maybe 12-1500 darn sarf. Oop north 9-1200 would be nearer the mark, some Technos are still fetching 800.
  9. My pdf manual doesn't specify engine size, although it's a 250 in all the photos. I don't think my hard copy does either. They're both Owners Manuals rather than Workshop Manuals. Wouldn't it be great if Haynes did trials bike manuals??
  10. Paul is right. Stick with either Beta or Sherco. Decent bikes and spares readily available when you need them. GG and Ossa are risky in the longer term.
  11. And how will this affect Becky Cook and Ross Danby? Presumably their deals are with Steve Saunders, so I suppose they'll be on TRS ASAP.
  12. I feel your pain, never got either of mine back. Hope you do! I'll keep an eye out at Bumpy.
  13. Cheers Steve, I'm not sure if some people have confused the Rookie with the Cadet and/or Boy. A couple of shops told me that I need the dedicated pedal from Gas Gas (£60. yikes). My local shop, RAS Sport in Brighouse have today sold me the standard 09-15 replacement pedal on sale or return(£30) and it's fitted fine, using a bush from a Rev 3 that I had lying around, and a bog standard M8 bolt, not the shouldered one. Job done.
  14. Nice bit of frog porn there. If I was another frog I'd be doing something very inappropriate after watching that filth!
  15. Hi Everyone, We came home last week without a brake pedal on Mini-Me's TXT 70 Rookie, 2003. We can narrow it down to about 9 acres, but I'm not going to look for it! Does anyone know if the standard, plentyful-on-ebay, brake pedal for a 02-09 Gasser will fit on a 70? I can't find an exploded parts diagram anywhere for the GG(if it was a Beta I'd be laughing), does anyone know where I can download one? Thanks for any wisdom that's coming my way.
  16. Hi, You're not a million miles away from Bumpy(bumpy.og.uk), just off jct 27, M62. Excellent place to practice.
  17. No need to buy a trailer. That bike would easily fit in the back of that car. I have a picture in an old book of Don Smith's Cortina with 2 bikes with the back wheel in something similar and the front wheel on the roof, far preferable way of doing it.
  18. Sadly Richmond Motor Club haven't repeated their 2014 Scott Trial Calendar for 2015. So does anyone know of a decent trials related calendar for the new year?
  19. I was thinking about this today. I was watching. My son had my mobile and took 440 pictures, about 3 of which are worth looking at. Plenty from previous years on youtube but nothing from this year. Gobbysarah used be pretty swift at uploading. Come on people. If you have some decent videos, let's see 'em.
  20. c'mon, I've got to be up early tomorrow and I'm knackered. Just tell us that Dibsta won so I can go to bed!

    250 Or 125

I wasn't at all surprised to see that the seller of this is Tor in Brighouse. Numerous posts on here have cast doubt on their integrity as sellers! And Tor is Rot backwards!
  22. Did I spot God's own town(Huddersfield) in there?

    New Decals

http://www.gasgasuk.com/contact/ Give Shirty a ring or email. If he hasn't got 'em in stock, he should be able to.
  24. My eldest son has done a couple of the Dougie days a few of years ago. Great for us as we're fairly local to Silsden, a bit of a trek from Jersey though. They were both great days, you're learning from Dougie Lampkin! It's like Steve Davis teaching you to play snooker. Not to mention Martin Lampkin, James Dabill. Jack Challoner was one one of them too, and Woody Hole was there as a dad, and he knows a thing or two as well. You might get lucky and bump into Ross Noble too, or John Dickinson from TMX. In terms of what you'll learn, you'll be put in a group of similar ability riders and talked through sections at your level. On each pass they'll tell you what you did right and what to do on the next run to improve. Probably half a dozen or so sections in the day. Then Dougie will show you what he can do. Then they hand out awards for best rider, most improved rider etc. My lad got special awards on both days for being the chattiest, and he got his picture in TMX. he came away with much more confidence in his ability, and a load of autographs and some great memories. The only reason we don't do it every year is that his brother rides as well now and I can't afford for them both to go.I recommend every rider to do it at least once. I'm sure the Steve Saunders or Grimbo events are similar. Dan Thorpe used to do them fairly regularly at BUMPY(bumpy.org.uk),and they were always good too. Give it a go!
  25. For those who are still reading this thread... Busy day in the workshop today, managed to concoct a tool to hold the flywheel in place, and with the help of a car jack I could loosen the nut by whacking a socket wrench with a rubber hammer(our air gun wasn't strong enough) and then made another tool to pull the flywheel off . The wires behind were intact but it was filthy, I gave it all a good clean with brake cleaner and the same with the flywheel, put it all back together and got that elusive spark back. Rebuilt the bike, and had to fiddle with the carb, an unrelated issue there, and we now have a fully functional Gasser again, without resorting to either the first aid kit or our local shop. Thanks to everyone for your advice and help.
