I am confused (normal for me). Is this the Ultimate Fighting in Vegas or Endercross? Either way I see a You Tube moment in the making. So is Ringo going to ride around the track and taunt Craig? Or is Ringo going to ride around the track and try to keep up to Craig? Or maybe Ringo wins the whole thing. Either way a lot of one sided SMACK talk. Got to love it. My problem back then was that I could only hop to the right. If I had to hop to the left I would have to do a full circle to the right to get lined up.

I had a 1986 Merlin. Awesome bike. A little heavy but an awesome motor. The motor would rev forever. Sorry I ever sold the bike. Cant believe Kip didnt make the wall. I will have Cody watch so he can yell at him.

I was there when the bet was made. My interpatation was next year in Vegas. I dont think he said exactly Vegas but did say here next year. I should have taped it. I guess I was just aw meeting the great Ringo. I had only seen pictures of him passed out.

Another e-mail from USA TDN Kip Webb Hello everybody Writing from Atlanta where Cody & I missed our flight because the plane was late out of Paris, Oh well. Anyway, could not get internet to hook up yesterday after the event. You may know by now that we got 7th place slipping one position. But with what took place, having to have 2 of our good riders have to drop out, I feel we held our ground. We were only a few points behind the Swedes, so I am pretty confidant we can at least regain 6th Next year in Italy. The event had one of the longest loops I have ever been on, almost 20km. Very scenic and one heck of a single track trail. Put that together with the level of sections and you had a challenging event for most of the competitors. We were given 7 hours to finish and we came in at 7 hrs with a 1minute penalty. Cody turned in some very impressive rides matching the scores per section with some of the best. Chris also had a couple good rides, in one section in particular, #9 where he was the only American to make it with 1 point non the less. Keith did ok, had some trouble with conditioning towards the end. Ronnie gained some valuable experience and tried 75% of the sections, but I had him punch out a few as I knew it would not be in his best interest to get beat up (even though he was willing). Everyone was upbeat after the event sharing their ideas and what a great experience this was. I have a good feeling for this team for next year as there are some other good up-comers in both the women and mens group. I really would like to give allot of credit to our support riders Steve Forsley, Dave Allen and AL Duke who all rode 3 days in a row, first helping the girls then the boys on a tough last day. To say they were tired would be an understatement. These guys were invaluable. What they lacked in experience they made up for in determination, great guys! I want to thank everyone else for all the support and help that was given to make this possible, Next years team effort will be even better. Thanks Kip

Another E-mail from our USA Team Manager Kip Webb Hey all, Hello from Andorra. The girls finished 7th today out of 13. Barely missing out to 6th by 3 points and 5th by 8. So we can do it, just going to take a little more effort and practice. Louise was feeling a little down and they slipped a bit. But next year will be better with Caroline Allen who I am sure will be getting much better, she tried everything and is a tough little gal. Sarah came thru when they needed. The girls looked real good in their matching outfits and I think we were the only ones who actually had matching gear. They were easy to distinguish from the other riders that was for sure. We were dressed to kill in our matching shirts & jackets at the opening ceremonies in a large auditorium. There are 22 teams represented in the mens category from all the continents for the first time ever. It was funny though, when Andrew Blaine and the South Africans went up on the podium the poor guys looked like they just got off work. But our whole team looked great and professional. I was real surprised to see Diego Ordonez here as well with the boys from Guatemala and his Dad Alex leading the charge for them. They barley put it together a week or so from the event. They got their bikes from Diego Bosis from Italy, all Shercos. I tried to get Alex to pay our entry for riding for me helping out Diego all those times and the beating I took (Ha) but could not convince him. (maybe the 224 euro fee scared him off??) Overall the cost for stuff here is pretty expensive $$$ The loop tomorrow is 10 miles and the boys said the sections were "sick" We are taking extra gas with us just in case as some ran out just riding the loop. It is real rocky an super steep. I did not go out today as too much to do and we did not have a bike at the time. We only grabbed the 4 strokes from Sherco, I did not see any reason to run an extra bike if not needed. GasGas took back one of our bikes today as they said it was for the first 2 days only, we were able to borrow one from the Canadians so Louise can carry some extra stuff for us. Other than that been going good. According to Cody we are in for a workout. Wish us luck. Steve Forsley bailed on the road yesterday and got his side pretty good, but he is in it for for the long run, when I asked him if was good for tomorrow he said "I wouldn't miss it for anything" I like this guy. One small detail though, I lost my passport yesterday, I remembered where I left it about 4 hours later and Steve Forsley made a beeline to the store and thank god the manager had it. Talk about stressed out!!! I had envisions of having to start a RYP products Spain division > now that's a nightmare. Hope everyone is good, I got to tell you though we miss home for sure. Dorthy & Toto had it right, There's no place like home. Will try to get an update to you tomorrow, will see how things go after the event. Thanks

Kip said he would send me updates from the TDN. I will post as they show up. Good to hear that Ronnie made it. It was short notice and then they had to find someone with an FIM liscence. They knew Ringo didnt have one so they called Ronnie. Kips e-mail: So far so good, really steep area but alot of cool stuff. Did practice today and the girls rode the world round. They start tomorrow at 10.15. Been hectic but now seems under controll.

Steve Darrow now lives in Colorado. When I was a kid he would let me ride his bikes. He had to get me started then I would yell for him and he would come out and stop me. No TY 80 back then. Probally was sick of me. The kawasaki Trials bikes are still one of my favorite bikes.

Peter Arnold and his awesome wife have arrived in the US from Australia. They arrived around the 4th of July in LA (southern CA), bought a motor home and are traveling the USA. They stopped by for dinner in the boon docks of Boulder Creek. They are then headed to San Francisco, Yosemite, Lake Tahoe and then North to Canada. Dont worry I already warned them about Ishy and Fracey. If in Texas told them to stay the hell away from Copey . From there I have no idea where they are heading. It was a real joy spending the evening with a Trials rider from Australia. Hearing how they run things and people in their club. I hope you get a chance to meet them. Hopefully they can make some events as they travel the US. Peter and Marilyn have a fun safe trip

I am in the same club as hopper and still dont know who he is. Maybe this weekend I will put on my thinking cap (corona) and figure it out.

Nice job TY. The part I am trying to figure out is the 3rd grade 4' 11 and 100 pounds. When I turned 16 my drivers liscense stated 5 foot and 100 pounds. That was only beacuse I lied. And now I fell like my belly weighs 100 pounds. Oh well off the subject. Nice riding Ty. I enjoy the pictures every year you put them up and enjoys seeing you and your family come up to our Nor Cal events. Keep up the good work.
