  1. I've said before I reckon Bou will achieve 4 outdoor titles. By his own admission he does not think he is riding any better than last season, he just doesn't make any mistakes. Within 4 years I think someone will have come through to challenge. However Bou comes across as I really sound guy and will no doubt make a very good and popular World Champion.
  2. I understand that next year the FIM are returning to the 2 day format. Unfortunately Cobos had to retire due to a serious knee injury.
  3. Grimbo did have a great ride and certainly proved he is still capable of riding at the very highest level. I previously stated I didn't think he should be in the TdN team but a performance like that is difficult to argue against.
  4. I think the residents of Scarborough deserve to know they have got a World Champion in their midst, as well as a first class minder. Scarborough Evening News
  5. Obviously dissappointed that Doug didn't do the 100, but it certainly wasn't due to lack of effort. He still remains one of the best riders and without doubt is a firm crowd favourite. The crowd were willing him on all the way. In reality the poor first lap put him out of contention, battled on though, in true Doug spirit but it wasn't to be.
  6. It was great to see Michael win the Junior WTC in true style, dominating from start to finish. Also Shaugan deserves a big pat on the back as he is one hell of a minder and has done a tremendous job all season. Hopefully Browny will ride the remaining rounds in Andorra and Belgium riding the full WTC class, ready for next year.
  7. I'll pass on your comments to my mates. You didn't seem to know much about punctures or petrol stops but we were impressed by your riding. You could certainly put that Gassers exactly where you wanted it to be!
  8. If anyone is still making their mind up whether or not to go to Hawkstone Park this weekend, let me give you a few reasons why you should go. Okay so it looks likely to rain on Sunday, Saturday looks good, but don't let a crap and wet British Summer spoil a great day. Unlike certain sports, trials is very rarely affected by the weather in fact trials and bad weather often go hand in hand, we ride in bad weather, we observe in bad weather, get the waterproofs out its not a problem. Here we go with the reasons. Do you want to tell the grandkids you saw the great Doug Lampkin win his 100th WTC. It could happen. It will be the only opportunity to see a GB WTC on the mainland for a few years. Do you want to miss the opportunity of seeing the incredible Bou? See Dibs really getting to grips with the Future Trial Racing 4RT. See Michael Brown win the Junior WTC on home ground. See the up and coming crop of young British talent, Wiggy, Danby, Sampson, Haslam etc. Jarvis in WTC action for the first time this year andpossibly his last event at this level. Last years winner Fujigas. Watch the riders practising. Laia Sanz. The mini masters trial. Was great fun last year and will no doubt be better this year. Test ride bikes. See the new Sherco. There's a beer tent. I'm sure there are still many other reasons to go to the WTC with undoubtedly the best atmosphere of all the rounds. Last but not least the Trials Central party. Alternatively you could be sat at home, watching the rain outside, waiting for the Eastenders Omnibus edition to start.
  9. A brave decision for Alexz to ride a 125 in the Junior WTC but one that will be of great benefit and experience to him. The important thing is his career is moving in the right direction, as is a lot of other British riders, but who really knows where it will end up. Riders develop at different stages in their careers, look at Bou 5th to 1st in a season on a new bike.
  10. A superb 3 days of trials. The only minus point was losing my Casio G Shock watch in one of the fast flowing streams on Saturday. So if anyone in the Richmond / Swaledale area is running a bath in the next week or flushing the loo and a watch pops out, let me know.
  11. 99th round win in France 2006 and it was persistently raining.
  12. I don't give money to Africa and I won't be giving money to the flood victims in the south of england. Simple as that! Africa I am not confident the money ever gets to the root causes. Flood victims, should have insurance. I won't even buy the Elton John record when it comes out either.
  13. Having had the pleasure of watching Doug ride at 3 WTC's this year firmly believe he can still top the podium. He will need to be on the top of his game and probably needs to have the rub of the green, but it is very much possible. There will be a huge number of fans out there routing for Doug, booing him may not be such a good idea.

    Mr Vain ?

It would look nicer with RTL rather than Repsol frame stickers. Not quite as tarty as I thought. Still needs the flat tank.
  15. Doug is still more than capable of winning a WTC and his 100th win at Hawkstone, in front of a home crowd, would be more than special. However there are plenty of riders ready to spoil Doug's day so it is important for the crowd to really get behind him and indeed to get fully behind all the British riders and especially Michael Brown who can clinch a world title at Hawkstone.
  16. Was fived when his handebar, alledgedly touched the ground. I say alledegdly, as both rider and minder insisted in didn't and the observers view was also obscured by a boulder. A bit of a tough one to lose a trial to though.
  17. Hopefully at Hawkstone they will have the British National anthem to play.
  18. In this looney, pc world that we live in I'm surprised he hasn't been charged with assault or sued by Mr Jihad. Top bloke, if there were more like him willing to have a go then the world would be a better place.
  19. Can't be any wetter than the UK can it? I'm sure you will have a good time.
  20. Eighties (Serious Dance Mix) by Killing Joke.
  21. Your Soft Cell and Bronski Beat collections are safe along with your pride and joy, the very rare 12" Newcastle Brown remix of Gazza doing Fog On The Tyne Gazza played for the Boro is my excuse.
  22. The one I got is much improved from the stock one, 6mm thick, longer at the back and wider, where it needs to be, following the contours of the engine. I got mine from Evil Bay and I've noticed you can be a real tart and get an anodised one. Me being a traditionalist stuck with a standard finish. Although black would have looked cool.
  23. Did it and it was a success. Cheers for that.
  24. Its not a new laptop I ended up re-formatting it. You cannot normally transfer from ipod to pc. This is probably due to copyright restrictions and the fear of being able to mass copy music.
  25. Had laptop (windows XP) problems and lost everything including itunes. However I still have my ipod full of tunes.
