Jim
The RS250ta uses the TLR200 front brake. with alloy brake arm, maybe the usa one with steel arm is reflex, but I am not sure.
the TLR250 uses the bigger brakes used on RTL/TLM,with longer alloy brake arm.

Hi
Chassis looks to be seeley,
and the barrel looks standard 200 size, but it was quite common in Japan to take these out to 220cc,
but maybe someone will remember the actual bike ?
-
How much do you think it would cost to have it chromed (including the swingarm) ?
Hi
You will find to have it nickel plated far cheaper than chrome,
also due to the frame size more companys can nickel it and not so many can chrome that size.
Nickel needs to be kept polished to look good.
also if you are going to plate it do not use a shot blaster first, you will have to polish it all after, so paint stripper will leave less to polish,
preperation before is the secret to a good finish on chrome or nickel,
also remember the acid used to clean the metal will get inside a TLR frame,so make sure the drain holes are clear to let it come out.
Remember the welding on a Honda frame is not like a Beamish or Rickman,so it will leak, the plating company will wash it out in a big tank after.
You should be able to get it nickel plated for

Hi
If you can send me a picture of the frame ,I may be able to confirm if it is Whitlock or not.
In reality there where not many Bultaco Whitehawks made, most had two tubes under the motor,
but two/three where made with alloy sump plates, and longer rear loops than a Miller hi boy, (also made by Mick untill the Beamish Suzuki production made it impossible to carry on making miller products)
The last one made,a 325cc ,had an oil carrying top tube that was used as a chain oiler. so if you have this one it is quite easy to spot.

Hi TL200
I feel sure one of the seeley experts on this site will give you the full history,
but basicaly the seeley was an authorised by Honda ,UK built bike, frame being made by Colin Seeley,
using Honda motor, and wheels, but Italian Marazochi forks.
If you have a genuine TL200,it could well be discribed as the clubmans bike for riders in Japan at the time,
not imported to the UK at the time
and the basis of what a Seeley was built from.your engine no should be TL200E????
There is also an RS200 ,which is very similar but with an alloy s/arm,and RS200T engine no`s
But please note, you say red/white and blue
are you sure it is not a TLR200 ? this is a more common bike, that was imported here, but some what different
Final note it could be a TL200 that has been painted in the red/white /blue,this is something riders in japan did.

Yes 2/4 I thought the mono Ossa was a Mick Whitlock built frame.
And I remember the monocoque Ossa of Duncan Macdonald, Black in colour?
Big John
Hi John
No the only Ossa frames Mick Whitlock made where twinshock,I had the very first one,it was L registration so I guess 1972/73
I think the frames you are talking about where in those days called cantilever, and where made for Cliff Holden
then the Ossa importer ,by Eric Cheney, and yes there where only a handfull made.
Just another note,I remember the Duncan Macdonald bike in the SSDT,and I am sure it had a rear disc brake ,using the sprocket as the disc

but certainly not rs200 cylinder & fins
Looks like a Kondo conversion,could be 220/240
-
Hi The bike at the front in the opening scene, with the blue stripe is an RS200t ,
and they where certainly available in 1982.
Great clip

Got my hands on a pair of the BPS shocks this week,
Alloy eyes with steel body
they seem to be well made.
but have not tried them yet.
I do believe they are

I think if you knew the cost of producing frames in 2006 ,you would not think them exorbidant.
There has been several months work put in before any frame was produced,
all time that has to be paid for, plus sourcing materials etc.
At the end of the day, there is little or no profit.

Falcons have been the benchmark for some time now, even with there problem of leaking
after about a year .
The new alloy bodied rockshocks can be rebuilt, realy look the part ,seem to work well,
cost less.
I guess the test will be ,what they are like in 12 months time.

No good for you superhondaman,if you think

I AM IN THE PROCESS OF MAKING SOME ALLOY S/ARMS FOR MY TLRs
THERE WILL ALSO BE AN ALLOY PROP STAND TO FOLLOW
IF THERE IS INTEREST I CAN MAKE SOME EXTRA ONES,ANYONE INTERESTED ?

I seem to remember back in the mid 1970s Sammy Miller sold a mikuni conversion kit for
bultacos, I think he even run one himself on his 250, not sure if he did on his 325.
hope this helps.

Hi Miked
P M me I have one.
-
The RS on ebay is quite a rare early example, not the prettiest of models the next model was nicer looking,
see previous picture .
But as to its value, its worth the starting price + ? ,they have been known to go for much more
-
The bike in the picture is a RS 200, (or maybe aTL200 ) very similar fames
fitted with an RS 250 tank, it is not a one piece unit ,but a seperate seat base/side panel
-
If you need a gollner style tank, send me a PM and I can send you details
-
Yes the gollner style tank is available.
-
Its not that long ago when they only fetched about
