  1. buy after markey YZ pegs off ebay... cut them off the hing...and move them down and back as far as you can go...not pretty...but they work.
  2. check the regulator...if the fans not working, are the lights working? does it blow the bulb as soon as you rev it? this is a common issue wih the model..
  3. the ALp is awesome...kinda light duty for any seriuos trail rides, and to much crap on it for any real trialing,, other then the novice or amature, i love my Alp. its a great loaner bike, for lady friends and my 70 year old dad.. keep in mind..Alp parts are tough sometimes... as is the Euro twin shock.. and avoid any twin shockers with fiberglass tanks...todays fuel eats em..unless you rrun race fuel or drain the tank after every use.
  4. weight is around 160 give or take,. fix the petcock...new ones are only 35.00...clutch is in and out, very little slip, you will get used to it, after market levers {asv} will help. brakes , same thing.. leaky rear tire will only get worse...hopefully not before you need a new rear tire...replace the rim seal when you get a new rear tire, and have someone thats done a trials rim seal help...or you will hate life that day. borrow a pickup...Rev 3 rear fenders cost over 150.00 you will break the fender trying to put it in a subaru wagon.. a good hitch and hitch carrier is a good idea.. sounds like a solid bike..some minor issues,,,but should give you lots of fun and frustration , hook up with your local Trials club..google them or look them up on TC...good people will help you keep the feet on the pegs... advise...dont start off in the hard classes...start in the novice or amature lines...get the basics...no room for an ego in this sport.. iv seen so many riders with the,...i ride MX, Enduro, Hair scrambles,,, and should be on the advance line... only to half way through the first event,,,loose interest...cuz its too damn hard....learn the basics...and forget all the other stuff you think you already know...it will do you more harm then good....knees out...shoulder square, inch between your foot and the motorcycle...move the bike...not you...
  5. love the Revs...they will help you learn to turn...hard to out turn a Rev3... easy bike to ride, and tough as nails..keep up on the maint. wish i would kept the 01 that i had...what a great bike.
  6. been watching Rachel on FB and insta gram..great kid...hope they do well, and ride safe,, what a great adventure.
  7. a 2 day event= 4 to 6 hours.. 30 hours is norm, after breakin.. i just rode a 2 day event with a 2 mile loop, 11 sections per loop,, 4.5 hours time on the bike...hour meters are cheap..
  8. copper slip and Anti seize...great ideas/
  9. find the longest hill of rocks you can find...and ghost ride it down the rocks..get that scratch over with...then and only then can you ride trials without having scratch fear.... seriously...nice bike...should give you lots of fun...frame and swingarm guards are a great thing...
  10. decals wont keep your feet on the pegs...ride it...and enjoy.
  11. Beta 4T is by far the best...Sherco?aint that just a walmart GasGas?? Montesa?? Honda?...Sherco? Yamaha? no new tech...just some new decals and paint. GasGas...hmmm get real good at fixing trannys.. Ossa?? has one actually finished an event without breaking?? how ya liking all that lololololol seriously... all are great bikes.. but none will make you a better rider... master the basics on a twin shocker...then you can ride any of em..
  12. never had a stator issue, but know of those who did..ask these questions.. what type of oil was used in the crank case? how often was it changed? how often did they clean the air filter.? avoid the Revs that were run with ATF,..lots of guys swear by it,..but it swells the clutch and makes it sticky.. Auto Trac was the oil to use...not ATF.. MTL or Elf is great stuff. ride the bike.,. and use the clutch..might be sticky at first, but should work good after warm up, if it sticks and snatches..it may need some clutch work. check the wheels...ask is the tires go flat over nite.. getting them to seal on the rim seal is a pain.. wheel bearings...fork seals/// ask about all those and when and how they were maintained... lack of maint, is the biggest killer of any used trials bike.. check the tail section , look at the bike from the rear, make sure the tail isnt bent to sunday...new plastics can make a crusty turd look like a sweet ride...
  13. hoestly. i dont thing it was running before the flood lol..but..if it was,...you bet it would still fire up...blow the fish out, and run down the road. these people have had a hard year. the week after the event last year.. they had a larg fire and about lost the whole ranch...this year do to the loss of vegetation, flash flooding about whiped em down river.. were holding a nite trial on sat nite as well...should be intertaining.
  14. just keep in mind...its not an ant freeze...its a super coolent...i used GM Dex cool mixed with this stuff...works well in alloy engines,

  16. X2 on Richard allen,..good guy,,should have what you need.
  17. its obvious that we all care enough about this crazy sport to want to improve...i truly think we are on the right path.. show case the support lines...pics, ect...and keep it friendly.. promotion of an event can be tricky..i think each club has one person that does a better job then most.. travel, premits. fuel cost..and other hobbies usually come into play.. i had planned on riding most of the national events this year..but other parts of life, money , job ect, got in the way.. in the next few years we will have a whole new group of Pro level riders dipping a foot in the big rocks... if we make them feel at home...it may go better then worse.. on FB,..the NATC posted a nice group of over 700 pics...some of the support riders loved it when they got tagged,..a little of that goes a long way....heck even some of the TS riders got some camera time....bout time..i say bout time..
  18. add some water wetter to your coolent..
  19. agree, Steve..its a can o worms for sure...i think some are headed in the right direction...some additudes are changing...more rules isnt the answer...promotion,. freindly...and having fun is...it will take time... some things we can all do at our club level,. is to head off the bad additudes..and when you see a new rider. go out of your way to say hello, and welcome into your family of Trials riders.. its hard being the new kid...easier when everyone wants to be your pal. hook them up with other riders at the same level... last spring we signed up 30 new riders at my event...i made sure they rode in groups and made friends... im sure most will ride again...some may not... lots of twin shock riders have a hard time adjusting to the mordern sections and rules.. facts are, people dont like change...and will fight it even if its better for the whole...try and do it with a handshake and a smile...avoid the clicks and drama that kill clubs... we can learn from AHRMA.. you can turn your nose up and rule yourself out of the game pretty fast...people dont stop riding...they just ride another venue..
  20. and when Pat and Cody stop doing nationals to do other venues that actually pay money...AE: enduro cross, stunt shows. TV ect..then whos gonna ride that crazy section you set?? how many Pros rode the Nationals this year? 6? and how many Pro riders are there in all the clubs combined? well over 20? think you answered your own question as to why the small turn out. the whole. if ya dont like it...dont ride it.. additude.. sounds like its time to step back, and review that just a bit.. im just a quilty of this..this spring...i set a line, and looked at it with wonder and pride...then my brother asked...what you trying to do, kill these guys?? hmmm,.. ok...your right...lets change a few things..
  21. setting a trial.. in any class. they should not be set for the top 2 riders..rather then the middle of the pack.. if you have 10 sections..7 or 8 should set so that most riders can ride them safely, and clean them if they ride them right, 2 should be just above that , and one should be the tie braker.. i set one section in each class..that i know...cant be cleaned by the average rider in that class. a foot down will be needed to make at least one part of that section.. this does a couple things...evens up the field, makes the event fun so that we can all show up to work on monday...and shows who needs to step up or step down a notch. however...that should be up to the rider...and not a club..or group...all that does, is chase riders away.. Jon drops 75 points riding the advance line everytime??maybe the guy needs to really ride the Intermediate line... Bob rides the advance line and never drops more then 5 points...this rider likely should be in the expert class.. however.. Bob is 55 years old. and rode Pro in the 1980s and has a full time job like the rest of us...can likely ride the big stuff, but cant see laying on the couch with a cast on his leg.. so...we make a Sr or Vet advance class..that guys like Bob.. can ride together..and have as much fun as everyone else.. NATC has Sr and Age groups as well, some great riders on those lines, and a great turn out from riders in those classes. all in all i think the Basics guidlines are ok with the NATC, and those who help out...but to get this sport to come back...some things will need to change.. i belive they will, make the events fun, and geared at that...push the support riders, and get some bling to give out to our pro riders...keep the ruling simple and easy to understand, and keep the event friendly.. keep in mind..safety is first and foremost.. respect as well.. there is a bigger picture that some cant see...and some just dont want to see.... the real reason we all ride a motorcycle...cuz its fun.
  22. You don't like punching out on most of the sections ? then move down a class. Sorry to be so direct but that's the way I see it. well, in time, nobody would ride the pro class, its that very additude that has drivin many away from National events.. facts are, even at the pro level...not all can ride can clean every section. some will punch a section...and some can clean every section. easy to set a pro line when in fact the person that is stretching the tape has no clue how it will be done...and has never had the skill to do so.. iv set a few Trials in my day..and have scored more then a few nationals. as well as compete as much as i can. though i dont have the skills or talent to ride at the pro level...and doubt i ever will. i do know the guidlines on setting a safe section that will push the limits and not hurt riders.. however..i have seen some stuff that even Cody and Pat wont do, that was set at a National event.. how many riders have been back boarded out of a section with broken bodies? more then a few. we all like to see these riders zap up a 10 foot rock face, or jump a big gap...but most of us have no idea how it was done.. we all get used to seeing the crazy stuff these riders do..and they make it look real easy....then we toss a leg over a bike, and have a hard time turning a corner with a few rollers around.. when they dont even think about that being an issue.. we have all watched the videos, and riders at our events do the crazy jumps, and spatters....they look easy...yea...no big deal...but is it? really? do this.. next time you take that Pro Line so lightly... ride it...put a helmet on..and ride the easiest pro line set at your local trial... dont chicken out at the big ol rock that someone set.. just put the bike in 3rd gear,. reve the guts out of your bike, and hit it...flat out...and stay on the bike..all the way til you crash your brains out... No??common...man up..dont punch through...just a rock..they do it...so can you... think about this long and hard the next time you say...dont wanna punch through...step down.. i have...i set a local event this spring...and some of the pro stuff was sketchy..iv seen our Pro guys ride stuff in the past with no issue... so once the tape was strung..i picked the easiest pro section...and rode it...and yea..i rolled around in the dirt and rattle snakes.. and ever pro rider at the event..cleaned that section with no problem...schooled? no...however..i manned up...and rode it...put yer big girl panties on...ride one...just once..before you judge em. yea, we all have ideas..as well as i...and our club has been using some of my ideas...and its working..our rider turn out has improved, and people are having fun.. Rules are rules..but how you enforce those rules is what keeps riders coming back. heres the section i attempted ...Bailey makes it look easy..it wasnt..and i didnt clean that section..matter fact..i had a hard time even getting up the first rock..
  23. lets go...you buyin the fuel??ill buy the food.... ill ride anything...
  24. 3 or more riders in a section..is a sally...our group sally sections all the time on fun club events..some wild things can happen...and usually does.
