  1. yup, i got mine in a close out sale table at the local parts shop..wasnt sure they would work at the time, so the 20.00 i paid was worth the chance... they dropped right in, no mods. worked very nicely..they give the front end great action..not many twin shockers that you can hop the front end on...now i can kinda hop it...lol
  2. the white plastic screws i used were found at the local auto parts store...cost 1.29 for a pack of 10 i watched a younger rider buddy,. ground loop his 2013 with my fender mod. pealed the fender back..didnt break, he found the 2 screws in the dirt. put them back in...and it worked just fine.. before this mod, he had replaced the rear fender 2 times in 3 mos... told me, hes looped it, and tacod the thing daily...has yet to snap the fender.
  3. no, thats the rear shock spring...look up fork springs
  4. second that, i had my mid pipe hot tanked by a engine rebuild shop...worked wonders.
  5. kill button, light switch mao switch is on the left side of the tank, under the left bezel.
  6. i live at 5400FT, and ride at 9,000 and over. if i remember right, i left the pilot alone, and used a 105 main, stock needle in the middle notch. and adusted if needed.
  7. doubt youd notice that much differance in oil wt, until you start riding more advanced sections. try Bel ray 7wt..you can always change it.. i ride a bit more aggressive, and like action from my forks..if needed i like to be able to hop the front a bit if im in a tight place. i run 5wt on my TLR 250. and 7 wt on my KT 250. 5 wt in my modern bikes. KTM Sr fork springs work very well as a replacement, and are easy to find, they really worked great in my 348, Progressive made some springs as well for vintage trials a few years ago, they were my sponser, i had them do some springs for the KT250 that i used to have then.. im running KTM SR springs in the KT i have now..they work very well. with those spings and 5Wt oil, they work almost as well as the forks on my old Rev 3
  8. update. Mike Shay has agreed to host a trials school for an hour on Sat afternoon...Mikes the guy on the SWM in the picture. thankyou Mike...
  9. bike rodeo should be fun...wonder how these ol riders will look in a granny dress and a purse?

  11. no air...those are bleeders..you let air out... many vintage riders are old fat guys...lol., so youll fit right in with us grey beards.. im 6"2, 200...down from 235 do yourself a favor...spend more then 65.00 each on tires. Dunlop 803s work well on vintage bikes. light oil, 7wt, is what i use...a few vintage montesa places you can get parts for just coogle them up, or watch fleabay. dont leave fuel in the tank, when your not riding...todays wanna be gas will eat the tank inside out, it will start to seep and leak if you do.
  12. nice ride,..though its not AHRMA legal.. ITSA welcomes it... hook up with your local ITSA club..buy a helmet, and boots...and have fun
  13. might take one for a putt. before you lay the cash out..the 4T is pretty much the same 2011 and up..some power changes...but for the most part they are the same.
  14. i just picked up a 2013 4T...so far the best modern trials bike iv owned, i thought the Evo 290 was sweet...but this lady stole my heart for sure..spend the extra money on the T muffler..great power add. power band took a bit to get used to...but once i got it down...i was cleaning sections like a pro
  15. looks great. rather then a hinge.. trim the lip off that wraps around the air box. and use plastic screws at the rear mounting point.. when you loop the bike. the fender will flop up, pull the screws out...and hopefully no break, i started doing this years ago...have yet to buy a new fender.
  16. regulator, fan. sending unit.. if your bike has the headlight, and it burns out the bulb quickly...likely its the regulator. if the fan doesnt start,,likely the temp sending unit...or the fan itself. watch the fan...it it just moves a slite bit..its the fan...
  17. yes...the front changed a bit, but most around here change over to a Gasser front fender and brace after they snap.
  18. you can use the new 2013 2T fender and air box cover, the only mod to do is drill a hole at the very front for the screw, makes cleaning the air filter much easier.
  19. bad gas cap...happened to me...replaced the cap...back in business.
  20. chuckindenver

    Beta 4 Stroke

pay the extra money for the T pipe, and updated springs, if buying new. bit more ponies then the Honda TLR 200..turn the the grip and hang on.. once you get used to the power..youll be in love.
  21. only if you can start that foward kicker by hand...i could on my VOR..lol..
  22. only a mans bike kicks on the left....girls bikes kick on thr right,..so you can start them with a dress on lololol
  23. fix the issue.. then ride for a couple days with the fast action twist. then try a slow action twist. first time you roll your wrist from a slow twist..youll understand why a fast twist works. i spend every thurs, having my wrists worked on from years of trials riding. i still think a rider should learn on a fast twist, so as he progresses, he wont have to learn all over again. the throttle on my new Evo 4T is even faster then the 2Ts..i like it even better. quarter turn and hang on.
  24. yup, thats were Mike got his forks..and yes, Zero, Gara, Synt, Alp, use the same basic forks.. ALP and Gara didnt have the fork brace, at least my Alp doesnt.
