  1. i wouldnt worry...if your over full a tad..youll find the extra in the bottom of your air box first time you run it down a trail. iv been using motorex..pricey. but worth it. Suzuki DRZ oil filters are the same as Betas. i switched to cleanable type..30.00 but worth it.
  2. ATF some how got mixed up with GM Tru Trac.. iv used Motul with great results.. i learned the ATF lesson the hard way... change it often, i have buddies the love Elf..and thats what Beta used for years.. iv switched all my 2Ts even my air cooled to motul. i use motorex in my 4T.
  3. sounds like a jetting or carb spring issue. depending on your Alt, the only time iv had to use the hot start knob, is after a hard caugh stall or if the bike as been upside down...{they run fine with the tires up} may need a larger pilot jet..or maybe dirty.. removing the carb on a 4T is no fun ordeal...take the muffler and air box off. or youll be sorry. i live at 6,000 Feet, and ride at 9,000 and up...so the lighter slide spring made a big differance for me.
  4. use Honda line 5wt/..flush with mineral spirts.
  5. yes, they are both Trials addicted..i see her on FB daily... dont think one can ever just give up Trials. check the ITSA web site. id say AHRMA, but Fantics arent welcome with that club..lol.
  6. for sure the OPs bike has a yamaha engine fitted.. i would think a 125 Beta air cooled would be tough to find. lots of parts on the girl i can use as spares.
  7. no i dont think it was, though a TR35 is uncommon in the U.S.
  8. heres an original Beta Engine, left kicker
  9. you need an Engine as well, someone dropped a Yamaha Engine in the frame... rear brake lever will be tough, with the kicker lever in the way,. id be a buyer for the bike for the parts, it would cost you more then the bike is worth to make it right again the rear wheel has been flipped to accept the left hand drive, so likely the rear caliper wont stay, same for the kick stand, looks like a DT 125 or 175 dropped in with muffler. might be missing the air box assembly as well.
  10. 520 non O ring chain. or you will have issues.
  11. heard of some hard working Elvs that made cookies in a tree once, but some fairy princess came and messed it all up. then some bears came along...oh wait..never mind
  12. i would think Hello Kitty rim stickers would protect them the best... great idea...until you install a new tire.. hmmm.
  13. i havnt lost mine, lol. have seen them glued in with flexable glue..
  14. this does take time away from other things...you can however, get your kids in the fun, our Modern club has a large JR group, from strider class, to 20 inch electrics. i love our JR riders... they are the future of Trials. i feel, that NATC is missing the big picture. i love our pro Riders, some are close friends. however. its the support classes, that are the bread and butter of this sport.. at this weekends Nat. they have 5 Pro riders. 21 clubman riders...and many more that ride that same line..just gander at the results sign up sheet. and do the math.. those are the future pro riders. but some other facts.. some may never be pro, or even expert, some are Pro or experts that have gotten older.. they will buy new bikes, travel for 2 days, spend money and ride. i think we get so taken back by the skill level of the Pro and expert riders, that we dont take the others seriously, when in fact.. without those riders....we are doomed as a club, and the sport will die out as time goes on. if NATC local clubs, and vintage clubs...show case those riders as well as the talents of the pro and experts..it will draw more riders, we all like to read about Pat. Cody, Karl ect...but i think that we should hear about Joe, Maddie. Chase. and others that did well at the podium as well... if we all really want to keep this sport alive that is how we can do it.
  15. yes, the fender has screens glued to it when new..they do fall off.
  16. would have cut my score in half in Cali. i rode the TS class, i try and take as much of the line as i can, on nasty corners... i went through a couple sections..1 on Sunday was tough for a twin shocker..cleaned it,,got the golf clap from spectators... and the dude gives me a 5...said i brushed a split marker with my peg...ok...next. and again 2 more times, and 2 other sections.. didnt get any in Co..heck.. dont think i dropped more then 9 points the whole event. this was how the old rule was set... if it aint broke,, fix it till it finally is?
  17. this would have cut my score in half in Cali last year.. darn ticket 5s ate me up.. NATC makes change to Marker rule for the 2013 Mototrials National Series The NATC has made a change to the rules for the 2013 season. In a unanimous decision the NATC board voted to adopt a change to the rule that governed contact by the rider or motorcycle with a marker. The rule that was unpopular last year and created much controversy has been updated to the following: All Classes: Page-8, SECTION – 6. Scoring – B – Failure Definitions – Paragrpah-2, Existing rule is shown with ‘strike-through’ and new rule wording is shown ‘underlined’ below. B. Failure Definitions: 1. The machine is moving backwards with or without the rider footing. 2. The rider or machine makes direct contact with any gate marker. has been changed to: Any displacement of markers with the machine or rider, requiring that they be reset, i.e. breaking or knocking down. Touching a boundary is not a failure. The rider or machine must make direct contact with the marker. 3. The rider dismounts from the machine and has both feet on the ground on the same side of or behind the machine. Visit the NATC MotoTrial website for a complete updated copy of the 2013 Rules
  18. use a GasGas bracket and Fender..Evo stock Fenders are Junk.
  19. i rode at Jenny Ranch yesterday, they let me push our small club, Since AHRMA is pretty much a done deal here, and my idea of a trial isnt the same as AHRMAs. the seling point i think. is we show case the riders, and Trials, rather then showcase the bikes that dont get any rock time. its easy to get caught up in rules and drama..i myself pulled back from that. i try and keep in focus whats important. having fun, making new friends, and welcoming new riders into the group. like any club, growing pains will happen. a new class that starting to take off..stepping up the sections. rather then some tape in the back lot of an MX track, most of the riders we have now are long time Trials ****s..who have a sick idea of fun,.. i always tell them...its ok to dab or to punch through a section that they think is too tough.. that being said, iv seen a rider punch through the first loop when his budy rides it,, only to see him, ride it like a boss the next 2 loops. its a fine line with safety and a challenge, i think i shocked some of the old AHRMA riders, but i noticed they all had a sweaty smile at the end of the day..and came back for more the next day. i think your best way at getting riders, is hook up with ITSA, Bob is a great guy, look into the rules, and guidlines, get with your local modern club, shy away from the old AHRMA additude, of showcasing a select few bikes, and focus on the riders, having fun, try your best to have an open mind and thick skin. before long youll be holding 10 events, and 30 to 50 riders will show up, wanting to ride the rocks and logs.
  20. i think everyone had a great time, admited, i think this trial was a shock to some of the old AHRMA riders used to tape in the parking lots. i set it harder them most vintage events, the rodeo was done to help with funding the year end awards, many dealers, Apex sports, Eurosport, Fey myers, vintage motoworks all donated stuff to give away, everyone pitched in some money for the pleasure of having fun, until our small club grows a bit more, we have to drum up money when we can. we still have a raffle for a new set of Dunlop 803s at 10.00 a ticket, funds go to our year end awards.
  21. check out the bike rodeo video on the Mountain west ITSA web site http://mtwestvintagetrials.org/
  22. stop using ATF on the beta clutch..the original was GM Auto trac used in the GM light duty Transfer cases., some how someone got standard ATF confused with it. once i drained flushed the ATF out of my Rev 3, and started using Motul 75wt gear oil, all my clutch issues went away. i use Motul in all my 2T trials bikes, from my TR34 to my KT250.. im hard on the cutches, and they work very well. notice non of your Beta owners or shop manuals recomend using ATF.. for the record, i have never had to do any special Beta clutch mods that are listed on this web sight.. and since i stopped using ATF, have yet to have to repair or replace a clutch.
  23. no batt, just find the light wire.
  24. if you like rebuilding trannys,,then go with a gasser. lol all the bikes have crappy plastic,...just dont ground loop it. 2013 Beta have great springs..the earlier models were soft, all the Betas iv owned..{since 85} have been ultra reliable, and have worked very well. they steer slower and feel heavier in the front then a gasser. if your going to trade in every 2 years and ride at upper level classes, i would jump on a gasser. if your going to ride at the support or clubman level. and ride the bike a few years..then the Beta would be my choice. every Gasser iv had and rode shifted like hell, everytime i shifted into 3rd gear i always wondered how many time would it go into gear before it finally went bang..
