  1. to help the extreem sports,..new rule #69,,sections will now be 2 riders in...first rider out...gets a clean..second rider gets a 5.. anything goes..Rider!!
  2. nice..iv seen pics of you on it on FB...looks fun..
  3. epic event..Mosteller Cup, on the BarX ranch...modern and vintage classes, AHRMA and ITSA vintage. for upper level riders..they have a Iron man class...you ride both modern and Vintage.3 days..150 sections... 20.00 fee on the Iron Man...no awards. you get a T shirt..and the top 3 riders split the pot.. you have to ride Int and up level on the modern bikes.. http://www.wmta.us/nat.html please let me know if you would like to ride in the Iron Man. so i can let them know how many T-shirts needed.
  4. loosten the nut. slide the shaft out...remove wheel...that simple
  5. Check the RMTA web site for details heck,,if nothin else you get to meet me...lol...cleans can be had for 5.00 ill also be your EMT for the event...so dont crash,,i dont give mouth to mouth.
  6. my favorite event,,,the youth nats,. love the kids..they show me what this sport is really about... Ty is looking great...likely he and Chase Abbot will be our next group of pro riders.. if you ever get to wrapped up in points, or mad for putting your foot down..just watch the kids..they will remind you how fun this is...
  7. thats a good point.. the bike rodeo... since our vintage club is new and growing..we dont have lots of money to buy year end awards and plates.. how many years did we ride AHRMA ? how many year end plates did we ever get for our efforts ? 0 so.last year, i had some class winner plates {number boards} made up. and gave them out at that event.. since i trials mastered Turkey Rock. and hosted the rodeo, and paid for the cook out.. a few weeks before the event.. i drove all over colorado..and hit up every motorcycle dealer thats been selling stuff to our riders, and shamefully asked for free stuff to give away as prizes at the rodeo.. everyone had something...T shirts, Grips, gift cards. even Billy Burgner dug up some nice fork guards.. to be in the rodeo..cost you a donation of 5.00 per event..you can win any of the neet prizes i humped up.. all that money goes towards this years year end awards, and plates.. Apex Sports and my company Warpath Vintage donated 2 brand new Dunlop 803s and we have a raffle through the year, at 10.00 per ticket..and at the mosteller cup, ill draw a winner... so far we have well over 500.00 in the awards account...so that the top 3 riders will get plates for 2013..it was a little work..but really not that bad..and it show cases the riders and not the bikes.. i got so tired of hearing from AHRMA that Trials is to show case a few motorcycle that nobody rides..when in fact its the riders that spend the money to make it happen..
  8. already have the bad music cued up...bow shakka bowwow.. bring your dollars baby
  9. yup...crazy is as crazy does.. to make it even worse.. i like to ride the Nationals on a twin shocker. i have a brand new Beta that has less then 20 hours ride time.. and as nice as it is..would rather beat up my TLR 250. or jump on my TR32 or 34... crazy aint it? at 50, i no longer have the interest in MX...as i dont know how to race slow..and my body protests a bit.... im single. self employed..i dont drink, dont ski. dont hunt as much as i used to, have made the choice to ride as much as i can, while im still healthy enough to do so, ill never ride at the Pro level, doubt ill ever ride a modern expert event, i love the kids, and would rather help out the younger riders then ride sometimes.. 50 grand is a cheap thrill, as compared to what alot of people toss away at other things..its only money...and ill make more.. when you die...the last 11.00 in your wallet, will be taken by someone that loves you...and spent on a cheeseburger..your bikes will get sold off, the trophies, ribbons, and wall plaqes will get tossed in the trash.. a little back ground...my sweet blonde haired wife died a few years ago,..and then i figured out how short our time is on this earth.. you dont get to do it over, and we only have so many minutes, why not enjoy every one as much as you can..share them with good people. and experiance great things.. Crazy???damn straight. i chose to live every day like ill live forever, but knowing that it could be my last day on earth.. Robin died June 27th 2011, that summer i rode every single weekend...i didnt care if it was WY, NM, CA, UT. KS, NE..if there was a trial, i was Trialin up..granted...i dont remember much of that Summer. but i met some great people, and put my foot down on rocks in alot of wonderful places.. it was the best way to help heal a broken heart for sure..my dog and me have done it and seen it for sure. time heals all wounds, but a new outlook on life, motorcycles, and money has healed the soul for sure.. make this game fun, and share that fun with good people...they will come back and chances are..they will bring friends with them...
  10. many riders do ride share, haul a buddies bike so to speak. it not really cost effective to pay a company to drag them accross the states. iv hauled a bike or 2 for other riders that are flying out..they usually kick in a few dollars for fuel, and or share a nice meal with me..
  11. i do have some ideas..on how to help this sport grow here.. first and foremost...i love our pro riders..the talent and skills are simply crazy.. but lets look at a few items. the mass entry is from what groups.? the support level riders.. iv seen in the past..a big deal made over the pro class,.rightfully so..but..maybe some highlights should be taken of the other classes..expert, HS. CM, TS womens, ect...give the pros some spot light...but take that same spot light and shine it on the top 3 club man riders..and all the other class winners...show case the TS line..maybe a spot in Trial and Enduro news...or the AMA mag. push those classes...and as these younger riders progress.. like Chase Abbot, Tye Cullins Alex Tucker and others..say something about them..these kids are the next pro riders.. iv watched all these kids..and they get good...real fast.. show case the women riders...Maddie. Ratchel Sarah , they all can out ride most of us.. wouldnt supprise me to see any of our lady riders at the X games kickin butt and taken names...the 3 lead riders right now..came from Trials...even though, my favorite has been beat up with injuries...broken foot, and now a broken color bone. the Top mens enduro X pro riders...are trials rides...and usually little if anything is said...that really needs to change. rather then change the rules to try and fix an issue. {card 5s} deal with the riders that abuse the rules..dont make all of us suffer. whatever club is hosting an event.. make sure they have plenty of posters to hand out to local shops. advertise a bit.. i think the sections are set just about right at this time.. yea. the pro level stuff looks pretty crazy...but they usually ride right up it..and if you keep safety in mind when you string that tape...and have someone at that level actually ride it.. example.. if your setting an expert line...and your not real sure its safe..have an expert rider thats not going to compete at that event...ride it.. they should be able to get through without too much trouble, even if they put a foot down, or struggle a bit.. here in teh U.S. Trials has been the best kept secret in motorcycle racing.. if you start telling people...and welcoming them into your group...it wont be a secret... handshakes, smiles, go much further then ass chewing and grumpy.. all BS asside..this is a family sport, most of our kids ride, wives and GFs ride or score, help at the table... National events are a little more tight with rules, and such...but...make it friendly..if people have fun...they will come back. and do it again.. if they would up the purse a bit for the Pro riders.. {not hard to do} more would show..and more would ride..all you have to do is have a local bus sponser the event, put that bus, name on the T shirts, posters, act...have them donate the money...chances are they can write it off as well. riders love free stuff...get some give away goodies, gloves, tires ect...its really not that tough...but you have to try..
  12. now if they just had mudd races, moon shine, and stripper poles at the events...id be in Redneck heven lol..
  13. its ok..iv been a Redneck all my life..and proud of it.. now what you think a Redneck is...and what a Redeck actually is..may not be the same thing..but thats ok.. but now that weve totally highjacked this post...i belive the big reason the USA Nationals dont get the riders..is money... one thig AZ didnt get riders was the fear of heat. but travel and money were and are the big factor. as for fuel costs in the U.S. the actuall cost of gasoline..is around .65cents a gallon small or large..the rest is tax taken by state or federal Gov, i could get into a big drawn out polotical post...but i have enough friends that do that. in the U.S, Trials is the best kept secret in motorcycle racing...until some things here change...it wont likely get any better..i have lots of ideas..but like our government...the NATC doesnt care what i think, after all im just a Redneck Colorado...but have been known to host a kick butt trials event. we have no shortage of rocks here..anytime you like..your welcome to come ride.
  14. talking smak {not smack}...is talking sh*^t.. i drive a suburban {full size 4x4 SUV}..cuz im single and still have my balls, i live were the weather is bad usually, and need something that will haul 2,000 LBS of guns around for my business, id like to see your mini van make a high mountain pass, loaded with bikes, and last more then a couple months, , .. and usually only soccer moms drive mini vans here.. i have a great since of humor...remember.. you started it..you trolled for it...not me... i only gave it back.. i dont give my opinions on what the UK trials clubs does..i only observe the comments...as it doesnt effect me, i cant relate and have no real say in the matter.. i live at 5400 Ft, most of our events are at 9,000Ft and above. so small vans like yours dont last long here, a mile high kills them pretty fast.
  15. lets put this in reality.. just to compete in my state...for one event.. i travel 400 miles round trip...200 up 200 back..{turkey Rock} since our club thinks they need to have most the events in the south end of the state..thats the norm. i ride with ITSA as well. they are having a National event..350 miles each way... fuel plus eats, ect..ill spend about 850.00 to ride. i ride in Wyoming and New Mexico as well. so.800.00 to 1000.00 is the normal cost to ride an event.. to ride the NATC national just in my end of the country.. AZ was 1300 mile round trip.. NM 750 miles round trip...MN 1500 mile round trip.. my truck and camper gets 12 to 15 miles a gallon.. and my suburban gets 18 to 20 if i use a hitch carrier. add food. and entry fees to this cost... this last spring i mastered a new location 50 miles from my house...even so..i made many trips throught the winter to work the property. if you drove the long way through the UK...i doubt you would put 750 miles on..driving end to end... heck id bet you can make every club trial you have without totalling 750 miles for the year.. as i posted...i spent around 50,000.00 last year to compete in Trials, both modern and vintage...not including the cost of a new 2013 Beta 4T you can talk smak all you like...but i work just as hard for my money as you do for yours...its spends just fine.. matter fact...the trials parts sellers in the UK seem to like it just fine..if it wernt for the U.S. youd be speaking German right now...if ya wanna talk some smak/
  16. i just did the rear bearings in an evo last spring..and how i posted it..is how it worked...hmmm. no foam...maybe somebody has changed something? that tube gets eaten pretty easy if a bearing fails
  17. the small tube in the center is only held in place by foam. push a long brass punch through the center, push the tube off to the side, and drive the bearing out.. take the old bearing to a bearing supply house, and buy hard use bearings.. you will spend 12.00 for each one...sealed on one side..and they will last forever, just keep them greased and clean.. most motorcycle companies use light duty bearings.. high speed hard use bearings can be got in the same dems as the the light duty you removed, they just cost a little more money, same thing for fork seals.. buy hard use, caustic material use seals..keep them clean..they last forever.. i use seals made for concrete pumps...they work awesome..
  18. Pro riders// they can do county fair stunt shows and make money doing bunny hopps, nose wheelies and check out the hot chicks..and have no drama.. or,, ride the nationals.. spend money to ride..and maybe get a couple hundred bucks back.. then deal with drama, and some hard asses... cant say i blame em. i love our pro riders...but i undertand the choice..
  19. for me...i had planned on it..but a couple reasons...first...July in Az? had me a little worried after i got over heated last year in Ca. cost....Fee to ride. fuel, motel, eats...id be out 1500.00 time frame with other stuff. and work... money really was the reason for me.. i would have delt with the heat had there been any. i spent well over 50 grand last year just for the pleasure of beating up a motorcycle.. cant do that this year...i ride modern and vintage venues..and this year i put a 350 mile cap on the distance.. at 3.79 a gallon for fuel..thats easier on my wallet. just some imput...maybe drop in the entry fee a few bucks..say 65.00 for both days..and no gate fees. they would make more in the long run. i know its alot of work...but the wallets are hurtin.
  20. if you search the history here, youll find many posts on fixing the heat and cooling on the Rev 3..fix it right, so that the fan works, ect..or you will be sorry .
  21. 250s are known to have broken cases were the swingarm bolt goes through... 250 pistons you can get,,,350 pistons...not so much
  22. been there already...lol... and learned. scared the crap out of me..it was the first break in oil change..on my 2013..
  23. when i did mine, i used a piston and rings from a Indian 175 the Chaparal made bikes...youll find lots of engine parts through that sorce then any trials sorces. they are however less then a good trials motorcycle.. unless you string tape in a parking lot...oh. thats AHRMA lol..
  24. dont mix your MX oils and trials oils.. iv been using motorex in my new 4T..very happy with it..on the 3 oil change,. my dealer was out of Elf..so i tried the motorex... pricey..but good stuff.
