  3. Hi Andy. My email is davidcarter76@hotmail.co.uk
  4. Hi Andy. I was going to text you my email but because it was voicemail it didn't show your number. Can you text me so I can return my email to you.
  5. Hi Andy. Nice to hear from you. Must say you did a superb job on that 245. Be great to talk to you about it. My number is 07968 163410. David
  6. Afternoon. Was talking to a nice chap the other day who said there's a man in north yorks, around scotch corner area, who restores fantic's as a passion. I missed an absolute mint 245 he restored the other day. Anyone know who he is?

    Fantic Spark

Hi. Got a 240. Rode a trial on the weekend. Bike was fine, then started missing and stopped. When I took the plug out there was a whisk of something across the electrode. Changed the plug and bike was fine. After the trial I noticed that I took out a medium reach NGK B6HS and replaced it with a NGK BPR5ES which is long reach. What is the correct plug for this bike and what reach should it be?

    Fantic Shock

Hi. Looking at a 309 that I'm hopefully buying in the near future. Bike is tidy but I've noticed from the pictures I've been sent that there is no marzocci gas bottle for the shock that usually sits under the tank infront of the fuel tap. Can anybody tell me why? Thank you all
  9. Afternoon all. Been offered a fantic 309, very clean, very straight, very original with all lights present and working. What would you good people value it at? Also, was this model a good bike? Ta
  10. Where are you in the world and how much do you think you'd want for it?
  11. Rock shocks for me every time. There a bit like triggers broom, fully rebuild able!
  12. Evening all. Caught the back brake lever on a tree stump the other day whilst at a bit of speed. Result is it's bent out at getting on for 90 degrees to the side of the bike. Fair play though, must be decent alloy, no cracks at all. What's the best way to straighten it?, and at what temperature? Thanks everyone
  13. Morning all I'm at the point where I've satisfied hmrc with the nova form, all clear there. I've now sent off the v55/5, the daytime mot, the photo card driving license copy, and the registration and road tax fee off to dvla. Do they check for road insurance on the bike before issuing the tax disc and if so what against? On the basis that I hope to ride some Sammy Miller rounds and you can buy RTA insurance on the day for £9 do I need to buy yearly insurance?
  14. Afternoon all. Trying to get my fantic 240 through MOT and the garage have just rang me to say the new set of IRC's on it aren't road legal and I'll have to change them to pass its test. I've just looked at a new Michelin x11 on my shelf and it says the letters MST on the wall of the tyre. My man tells me if that's on it it is road legal. Is this right? Are Michelin tyres road legal and IRC's not? Can I convince him otherwise? Cheers
  15. Totally agree. Thanks for your help
  16. Fair point. I don't mind dropping 30 or 40 on a trial but it is will be taking the p##s if some clever sole, maybe on a heavily modified early 80's yellow bike!! loses a quarter of that on something that shouldn't be there. When is the first normandale round and where is it? Thanks
  17. Thanks for that woody. I've got a fantic 240 that is pretty standard but fairly well fettled. I'm a rider of average centre expert level that's done a fair share of nationals over the years. What would you recommend I have a go at? I assume your riding the normandale harder route?
  18. Can someone explain to me if there's such a thing as a recognised British twin shock championship? I've heard of the normandale rounds and the Sammy miller series. What's the difference in the two series regards in severity, roadwork etc?
  19. Evening all. What grade of fork oil should i put back in my forks? Does anyone know the absolute quantity needed as I've got about 500ml of pj1 5 weight oil in the shed!!!
  20. Afternoon all. Looking at changing back to a 4rt again and have come across a Mitani 280 version with a flat tank and a few other bits.. Is the bike worth the £600-£700 premium to is standard equivalent? Or am i better just looking for a year or two standard repsol version.. Ive got a mate who bought a 09 4rt with a 280 cc kit (dont know if there's another type) and he ended up changing it back to 250 standard. Has anyone had any experience of these mitani 280 kits on bikes? Thanks in advance
  21. Merry xmas all. Can see that Rothmans 4rt for sale yr 2011. Looks tidy, with mitani exhaust and other fancy bits. Just wondering, can anyone tell me what is standard spec for this model of bike, and is it considered on a par with the repsol spec bike? Which is the more desirable? Thankyou
  22. Wouldn't we all like to own a bike with this pedigree. Even if this bike came up again on the market what do you think it's market value is?
  23. Looking forward to this to try the mont against the 2t's. But where is it????
  24. That's very useful. If I bought a real nice one 09/10 how much could I expect to pay?
  25. Hello all. I used to have an 06 standard 4 rt that I had for 18 months, never missed a beat. Only criticism was the clutch was very sharp. Changed it for a gg300. Great bike to ride but build quality is shocking. Thinking of going back to a 4rt for sheer build quality and joy of ownership, plus I'm going to give the Scott another crack next year and think it would be a good choice for it Is there a preferred year or model of 4rt up to about 2010 in terms of improvements? I know you can throw
