  1. Thanks Andy, but that isn't what I was after. They usually publish section by section analysis, and finish times of everyone that finished, not just those in time. I had a couple of mates that rode, and didnt feature as an official finisher Cheers
  2. Aftenoon all. Does anyone have any links to the full results from Saturday? Usually, they publish the finishing times of every finisher, and the section by section analysis? Sad eh, but interesting to a dork!
  3. Any news? Who looks like they'll set standard time this year?
  4. I've got a gg 300. Very simple.. Best bike I've ever ridden, worst bike I've ever owned. The bike rides great, though I do agree with an earlier post, unless your British championship grade or 17 stone a 250 is probably the best bet, I'm guilty of that too. However, build quality is very poor, be very pushed to buy another. Probably spoilt on that front, as my last bike was a mont
  5. I seem to have missed the per cursor to this conversation? Who would be your team to go then dabster? Dan Clark is a nice guy and still a great rider but surely not tdn material now?
  6. Evening everyone. Took my clutch out this a.m from my 240 and I would say its knackered. I was hopeing to carry out the beta clutch fix, but whilst there's meat on one side of the carbon pads, the opposite side is worn right down to the plate so I suppose they are finished. What is the best way to go now? What's the best way to achieve the best clutch? Modern mods? Straight to Bill pye? Or flea bay? Thank you in advance
  7. Sorry I'm being a bit tupp. Have looked but can't see the relevant topic. What is this beta clutch fix? Thanks
  8. Evening all. My fantic 240 has a over eager clutch in that it doesn't tend disengage always when I want it to. It tends to keep driving when you pull the clutch in, but only for a few seconds. Don't know whether its connected, but does tend to slip fairly easily in the top 2 gears, suppose that's just a typical old bike thing? Any suggestions for the clutch disengage thing? Cheers
  9. Bill pye is your man. Get it off to him in a Jiffy bag with a cheque, he'll have it back in a week and it will be spot on Regards
  10. Hi. I'm in west Wales and will give him a call Tom. Didn't realise he rebuilt them. Thought he just replaced them. If you don't mind me asking, how much did he charge?
  11. Afternoon all. Just got back from a trial where for the second outing on succession my 240 failed. It runs ok for about a lap then will just cut out usually on tickover. It will start after 10 or so kicks but will cut out more frequently and will be harder and harder to start until it eventually won't start at all. I'm sure it must be the stator. I've changed the coil and checked the earths etc so what do you think?
  12. Evening all. Did a club trial today for the first time on my recently acquired 240. Engine has always started and ran really well but half way round first lap the bike just cut out. Started after a couple of mins then off again. Did it now and again through the trial then back fired and stopped altogether at the end. Changed the plug, no difference. As a precaution, I recently fitted an up rated coil so that shouldn't be the issue. Any bright ideas?
  13. Depends I would say on 1, your size and 2, your intentions. If your 5ft 10 of less and fairly slight, I would say a rear kick 200 would be fine. It would be more than capable for 99 percent of what you'd do. If you are like me, 6ft and and good winter coat (fatty) then I think you'd find the 200 a bit small and the 240 would be the better bike for you. There's a lot more 200's about mind and a good one would be at least

    Po Go Pro

Evening all. Was in a trial today on my 09 txt300 and half way through the shock went and turned into a pogo stick. Do you know if it can be rebuilt and if so by who? Thanks

    240 Forks

Evening all. Looking to change the oil in the forks on my 240 Fantic. What weight oil should I use and what quantity. Any secret tips on improving the rebound? Ta.
  16. Morning ladies and gents. Looking to register my Fantic 240. Firstly what info do I need to age relate it, do i go to bill pye. Is it then on to the dvla and try and convince them?Is has recently been imported from Italy so will have no uk paperwork. Thanks in advance
  17. I think I'll give those magical springs a go then. If their
  18. I promise I leave you all be after this one (and you woody!) Looking at the suspension side of things now. With regards to the back the bike came with some betor shocks on that at the moment look to be working very well, damping lovely. They might pop tommorow and if they do i'll bin them and look for a new set. Suggestions? Rock shocks?, Falcons, Trickshocks? Front end. At the moment they are as you were but feel very dead feeling with very 'flat' feel to them. Question. Do I go for a modern set like gas gas or beta forks (38mm) as some suggest, do I plumb for 35mm forks off an orange bike or do I spend the dough trying to improve the action of the originals.. Was talking to someone the other day who said he knew a chap from ohlins who could get me a set of springs for the forks, they are £90 a set mind. Don't mind spending the money but is it worth it? Thankyou in advance gents
  19. Point taken. Just trying to better the bike where I can.. There must be something in it mind. Was looking at the airbox on my 300gg earlier. They are trying to squeeze every square inch of capacity out of the the box. Mind you, on the gg you need that to catch all the s..te that gets in there!
  20. Hi all Me again. What's your take on the large capacity airbox subject? Is it worth the investment and does it do much to enhance the performance? Cheers!
