    Beta Tr35

There's a level screw in the clutch case by the kickstart you will need 600-800ml i have always just used a reasonable quality 10w-30 engine oil and never had any problems
  2. your best bet is to use a dti gauge to find tdc then mark your flywheel and case the turn the engine back 1.6mm on the clock and mark the flywheel again then as you say line up the holes in the flywheel and stator using a 2.5mm drill bit the holes will end up somewhere near the 4-5 o clock position this should get you in the correct screw holes on the stator you can then use the marks you put on the flywheel and case to check the timing with a strobe light once the motors running if you need to
  3. good bike either way just ride it shock reservoir should be on a bracket off the reed block out the way and just make sure you don't seize it as pistons are unobtainable
  4. didn't think the tr35 had the alloy swingarm mine has'nt
  5. could be a tr35 or a supertrial its got a beta zero swingarm on it so it could even be a tr34 with zero forks wheels and swingarm what parts are you after pistons and rings are pretty much unobtainable but most other things you can get
  6. dont know about the 125 beta specifically but around .007"-.0010" is normal
  7. just checked and the proper timing figure is 2.2-2.3mm btdc its hard to say if your timing is advanced without seeing the bike as it could also be carb related with those symptoms (weak mixture) to get the timing spot on you really need a dial gauge with an adapter for the plughole
  8. there is a small 2mm hole in the flywheel and on in the stator you need to put a pin in these holes to line them up at around 2mm btdc but this is only from memory so best check for the exact figure the holes will end up around the 4-5 o clock position
  9. pretty sure they use motoplat if so there is no cdi as such its built into the coil the blue wire goes to the larger spade on the coil and the black wire goes to the smaller one and the kill switch earths out the blue wire the grey wire would be for lighting
  10. cheers mark i will give him a try not desperate yet but its getting shorter and shorter
  11. would be interested in a replica rear mudguard if you get some made cheers Paul
  12. A tr35 one whitch i think is the same measures 300mm bolt centre to bolt centre. I have used a shock from a gas gas txt pro i had to move the top mounting down 25mm and make a few small mods to the lower linkage to get clearance but now it works great and ebays full of them
  13. 4047 filler rod can be better than the usual 4043 no use now but maybe in the future
  14. agreed or lap it out laborious but worth it
  15. its a beta tr32 from around 1984/85 not to bad a bike if it runs ok as engine parts can be scarce try steve goode in welshpool for parts
  16. Finding parts will be difficult but a great bike once running i don't know about the 125 but a tr32/33 exhaust can be made to fit the 240/260 models with a little modification to the outlet pipe steve goode or richard allen may be able to help
  17. i run mine on the standard b8es with no problems the plug does get a bit oily though i dont think motoplats are to keen on resistor type plugs as for fuel two litres would run mine for about 3 hours at least and choke is only needed when the engine is stone cold i alos run standard jetting and 60/1 fuel mix
  18. Harley Davidson sx175 cagiva engine
  19. Hi Dave No I Havn't sorted the tank out yet been using the bike fairly regular thought giving my old montesa a break Your best emailing jarod tonight as he is in Arizona but if he has the parts the service has always been second to none good guy for advice as well Regards Paul
  20. try jarod bates at south west montesa always very helpful ps:your old tr35 is now up and running and has even done a few trials regards Paul
  21. L2624/402 is the correct carb for a 200 cota and if not worn and jetted correctly they run perfect regards Paul
  22. Hi ignition timing from memory is around 20-21 degrees btdc you will need a plug stop tool and a degree disc i however had exactly the same problem with mine and it turned out to be the replacement coil i had fitted pu the old genuine motoplat one and it fired straight up. you have to make sure the kickstart gear is set properly so it disengages at the top of its stroke if you get it wrong you will damage you clutch case regards Paul
  23. don't know where the cucumber thing came from google translate version of something? anyway if you do the maths a cota 200 barrel bored to accept a standard 247 piston 72.5mm would give you 222.9 cc this could be good fun as my cota 200 is getting a bit of piston slap watch this space It appears that the 247 and 200 share the same gudgeon pin height and diameter
