Matt P.s Have you been to see a trial yet ? its quite different from playing with mates.....well in honesty i should make sections and practice...but i dont yet haha. As telecat said, the barnsley club is dead near and is good to go along to
  2. hey firestarter, where abouts in sheff are you ? maybe you could meet up with acouple of people, practice with them, and get some tips ? Or ask for a go ITs a good sport, been in it less than a year, did my first event with a knackered tyre...didnt do too well, but i enjoyed it anyway, didnt give a monkeys what other people thought ! Matt

  5. Cheers AJ201280 ill take out the water pump and check it over! Cheers for that lewis im getting excited now ! Ive painted the head red and the other side blue... when together it looks like bloody lego bricks !! haha im putting it together abit more soon and ill post more pics. Started knocking out all the bearings from the dogs biscuits and wheels
  6. Hello !! im going to post the pics so far now, and the ones of the bore for you gasgas...(sorry for the wait) Ive painted the engine casings, with hamarite metal paint a **** load of coats and a long time to dry... and i dont think its as hard as i want it to be so im abit gutted about that Bore has been clear laqured with clear high temp paint !! I recon in a couple of years ill have to take the engine out and paint it again ( properly ?? ) Well here are acouple of pics, Ive fitted the bore and piston (drilled a hole in the side for the timing) and i also changed the mains bearings, front sproket bearing, crank seals, con rod kit, coil rewire, whole gasket set, Anway, ive got to put the head on now, and rebuild the otherside of the casing, and then laquer the frame. My dads advised that i just paint it on nice and thick...lol ??? ok im getting this error when trying to upload, The requested file upload failed because suitable permissions have not been enabled on the 'uploads' directory. Please contact the board administrator and inform them of this error. pic, think i sorted the upload pic of the barrel, this is the worst part of the pitting and in honestly looks worse than it is barrel
  7. Im doing up a 1992 GasGas GT25, I started it because i didnt have a trials bike and my dad gave it to me a year ago in abox and it was knackered Only thought it would cost
  8. what if you fall off ?? the revs just go straight up !! ?? The clutch casing on the 03 model and above have ribs to direct oil into the clutch and is supposed to be alot better. And the seals in the clutch slave apparenlty swell with synthetic oil, thats why your supposed to only put mineral in the clutch system. Good luck with the bike, fingers crossed !!
  9. cheers guys ill see if i can pull some more info out of that guy on sunday as theres another barnsley event cheers guys ill see if i can pull some more info out of that guy on sunday as theres another barnsley event
  10. Was told at the last barnsley event that there is a place to practice outside keithley,...well thats how i heard it. I was moaning that im not use to rocks and this guy was saying that there is a place outside keithley / keighley (i dont know how to spell it) and its
  11. waterpump seal sounds good, But id like to add that adding antifreeze to your water wont aid cooling, apparently it does the reverse. If you add 'wetter water' to your mix then yes its better but otherwise no. I got this from the bottle of the wetter water that my mate used in his tuned car. The more antifreeze you added the worse the cooling was. Take that as you will, just thought id add my two cents
  12. haha, this is getting out of hand ! Mine doesnt come up as quickly as the raga does, and i think i will play with the settings, thanks for the advice and jokes (ANDY!) And i can do a stoppie on my bike and i can get it high, i just have to work harder but dont worry im not work shy ps. cheers Ralph
  13. cheers GG and FF, + guys, ill play, Thanks, (btw the fluids are older in the raga as its an 04 and mines an 05) Cheers
  14. by doing the stoppie im trying to swing the back end round so that i can do the harder sections, no offense taken, yes i know its about technique and im trying to do it on my bike anyway and i WILL NOT be buying a raga for this reason, but if my suspension is not set up for my weight then id like to adjust as it will make the bike perform better. and aid my challenge of learning the technique First thing i checked were my pads, took off the caliper and there is alot of meat left, at a guess 50% left at least my technique is the same on both bikes, just wondered if adjusting suspension will help, or whether the raga has a noticeably better setup
  15. Ive been playing on my brothers 04 Raga rep (Nice 1st modern trials bike ) And its so easy to do stoppies on it, i have an 05 280 and its not as easy on mine, The front forks seem to dampen too much and the rear shocker seems to too (in my novice opinion), and i think the fluid needs changing in my front brake. -- now is it easier on the raga because of the ohlins shocker on the rear ? and some change in the front ??? -- can i make mine more like it by: - Bleeding the front brake to change the fluid - Change the fork oil ( using less oil?? suggestions?) -- OR ADJUST THE REBOUND OR COMPRESSION ?? - reducing the adsorbtion on the rear,.... .... or it aint gunna happen and i should just buy a raga ... Ok ive gone on now..... i just wanted to know really if i should put less oil in or try and play with the fork settings ?? as i think the guy who owned it before me could have been HEAVIER ! Matt
  16. cheers karl, appreciate the info, im sure it wont be as bad as the bloody grouse beating ive been doing !
  17. thanks for the heads up, I fancy letting my little brother (nearly 16) ride my 280 pro on this event, i dont really have a spare bike and i know he'd like to do an event and the dead easy ones are great. But i dont know this venue, is there a lot of walking between the sections i did a dead easy trial with the MACC club and the sections were really far apart I think im just being lazy !! ps. auto route finds the Peak Forest so im guessing the trial will be signed?? Cheers Matt
  18. Hey Ned Yeah im using the silverfire one. Doing it at 80:1 ..just looked at the back and its only rated to 50:1. I bought it from a dealer, but i dont know if it is alright for GG, ..hmm Thanks for the other advice guys Matt
  19. Hey, I was wondering about changing my 2stroke oil. At the moment i use 80:1 in my 05 pro, but the pj1 is rather smokey. and i wondered if there was a better quality out there? i know some people use Castrol supper TT ?? but i looked at the spec, and it said it was only good for 50:1 max and it was mineral, with my understanding that mineral mix wasnt as good as a synthetic mixer?? Any thoughts? Is the castrol anygood ? does it smoke less?...then again it aint broke so why try and fix it !! ??? Thoughts?
