  1. Well, first time out today at the muddy Sutton Falcons trial - my first four stroke since 1973. First impressions are very good - grip in the mud was excellent - hot starting was good once I had the knack. Second seemed a bit long (noticed since that it has a 42t rear sprocket and I'm used to a 41 on the rev3) but I'll give it a while see if I get used to it. Results not too shabby and better than I thought for a maiden voyage on a four stroke. Pics of the bike before I christened it in the Norwood mud.......
  2. I had a first aid kit in my bag. Seriously though, he was attacking some big steps - the shot of him airborne was a splatter up a 5 foot vertical step. I missed the first attempt as I was walking up to it. I had no idea he was going to attempt it - heard the engine revving and turned around to see him in mid air. Kin amazing.
  3. Fortunate enough to spend a couple of hours today watching James Dabill practicing and took a few photographs. If you want to see the rest - visit http://mansfieldmauntrials.smugmug.com/ Let me know what you think.
  4. Yep, noted Heath thought it could possibly be moved - with a longer cable - behind the number board. What solution have you seen with the 2T?
  5. My 300 arrives end of this week. Anyone got theirs yet? I see Steve Saunders just got one which was ridden and reviewed by Heath (R2W) on Sunday, and he rates it highly. Post your pics, reviews, tips and mods here.

  7. That's what I was trying to do but its playing hard to get which made me think it might be a sealed unit. Looks like I am being too gentle not wishing to make a bodge up.
  8. Another try with this one. Im just doing a full service on an 11 month old 08 Rev3 and need to grease the rear paioli shock bearings. Is there a secret to removing the bush to get to the needle bearing or are they a sealed complete unit??
  9. Five days to go on this months free 'name that rider' quiz. Someone must be able to identify this internationally popular rider. Winner gets a free ride at one of our events - bonus if you are local, if not - have a go just for fun. www.mansfieldmauntrials.com
  10. Try a search - there's been plenty of stuff written in the past.
  11. If you have really never put a leg over one before I'd get some practice in on the bike before you enter an event. Learn some basic skills of bike control and balance at slow speeds and go and watch a couple of trials first as well to see the format. This will give you the opportunity of picking up loads of tips. If you do this you will enjoy your first trial much more than going in at the deep end.

Coupla things Manuel recommends a resistor 7 plug which mine seems fine with. I always thought that there needed to be a resistor to stop interference with the electronics. So why go for a non resistor 5 plug??
  13. Ladies and girls training day at Bracken Rocks on 21 Feb by ACU coaches. Ring Lynda CRABTREE - 01623 628176 for more information or see club website at www.mansfieldmauntrials.com for an entry form. PS Still places available on the mens training day 21 March.

  15. Its refreshing to see regular competitors who can't ride that weekend for some reason turning up to observe and putting something back in - rather than staying at home watching footie on the tele.
  16. I heard today that 'second generation' evos will have a larger capacity tank. Wonder how true this is?
