  2. Not so much the economic climate - rather the pig ugly design.
  3. Yeah, he told me you had been 'running it in' for him
  4. Putoline GP10 Note Im sure DX4 is a four stroke oil
  5. Wouldn't worry - he'll only be on either one for five minutes before his back goes...........
  6. Noted. As someone who writes off whole weekends to present the likes of you with a days sport - I'll just say two words. Ungrateful b@$&!*d......
  7. Trials is a good way of maintaining / losing weight. My missus has some of them superfandango scales and I have noted that I can lose 3% bodyfat in one hard practice session / trial. Now if only I could stay off the pies / beer in between sessions.......
  8. The sport loses 16 plus age groups because thats when parents often stop buying thier bikes and they have too many other things to spend thier limited disposable income on- a theme that continues for some time. They don't generally come back until finantially sound - hence so many over 40 riders these days.
  9. as post above mate - caused by unburned fuel igniting on the overrun and will cause no permanent damage. It could be worse than 'normal' if there is air getting into the exhaust system. Seal the front to mid pipe with a heat resistant silicone.
  10. Been done before mate - its not a 'problem' just 4t character and is caused by unburned fuel igniting on the overrun and will cause no permanent damage. It could be worse than 'normal' if there is air getting into the exhaust system. Seal the front to mid pipe with a heat resistant silicone.
  11. of course these parts only come in large.......
  12. Sure to have a lot of EGO stuff - made 'specially' for the owner. EGOlastomer bushings, EGOcentric crankshaft, EGOpolymer cables etc..........
  13. please don't feed the troll. Well go on then, just a bit more.........
  14. I think even Lampkins say that 10/40 is ok despite the manual recommending 15/50. I think this is down to ease of availability. I personally use 15/50 and think my bike runs quieter perhaps because of the extra viscosity. I imagine the more viscous 15/50 is recommended because of the nature of competition bikes being revved hard (and hot) over prolonged periods and the extra protection this oil might afford. Either way just make sure its FULL SYNTHETIC.
  15. This is an awesome trial - well done and see you there.
  16. Ladies World champ within next three years is my prediction.
  17. This is so funny, I thought it was just me! Just returned from a walking holiday in the swiss alps and my missus kept saying "all this scenery and you're just commenting on awesome trials sections?"
  18. Like 99.99% of us need anything other than a 'normal' S L O W throttle?
  19. This thread is worthless without pics................
  20. Thats why our justice and political system is a shambles. If the mp's really did our bidding, he would be swinging from the bough of one of our finest oaks along with several other hundred murderers and other deviants.
  21. The older Gaernes were definately 'tougher' I imagine that 'progress' for any manufacturer means using different materials and construction techniques that will alter the end product - so you can't compare Gaernes made 10 years ago to those of today. There is always going to be some variance - eg maybe Novagar use a different sole provider for one batch / year which turns out to be not as tough as required - anyone having a pair of these complains and doesn't buy them ever again not appreciating the company changed back to a tougher sole after feedback. I'm just illustrating that design, production and materials is a 'dynamic' - so just because you had a bad product ten years ago doesn't mean they would have the same issue now. You have to compare current with current if that makes sense?
  22. My Gaerne boots were carpet slipper comfy from day one, but I think this can be a disadvantage as despite looking after them they only lasted me a year before breaking down. Having said that, considering the conditions these boots are continually exposed to, that really isn't too bad. My latest pair are Novogar - which took more breaking in and appeared stiffer from new, but now they are just as comfy and seem to be more resilient and harder wearing than the Gaernes.
  23. Ring the sport sec - Steve SHAW for the definative answer. http://www.suttonfalcons.com/page10/page10.html
  24. Bad luck on the crash and injuries mate, get well soon. Some of the worst trials crashes and injuries are sustained travelling fast between sections. I think we all enjoy 'giving it some welly' when we get some space off road - but you have to choose the spot wisely. Experience comes through mistakes and I have subsequently learned to ease off - anywhere near trees, over crests, in quarries and especially in long grass (my worse crash was into a fallen telegraph pole hidden by the grass growing just over it - VERY spectacular)
