  1. The rather significant difference there is that KTM own Husky and everyone knows it. So KTM builds a blue KTM and calls it a Husky... great. Yamaha sticking a yamaha badge on a sherco is quite a bit different. They had nothing to do with the manufacture of the bike they just put a yamaha sticker on, which isn't something I can imagine them ever doing to be honest.
  2. Yeah, that was my point...
  3. Find me a mag that's done an interview of a bike that was anything other than fantastic in the last five years... I'm willing to bet it doesn't exist. I don't really get why the Yam would be any better or worse relative to the Montesa than say, the Beta 4t, which everyone seems to love.

10w40 motor oil, which is what beta specs for that bike, has a gear oil rating of 80w.
  5. Do you mean oil on the electrode or oil on the threads? The latter is normal....
  6. How is a Sherco engine and frame a Yamaha? rofl
  7. Hey guys, Thanks for the info. I could probably make it up to Berwick now and again, maybe MMC as well. Dan, definitely let me know when you've got something in the works!
  8. Yikes. Back to sportsman I go.
  9. Anyone here ride NETA that's open/interested in a new practice partner on occasion? I'm in a bit of a rut, and I think most of it is just down to not having anyone at or above my level to ride with outside of events. I ride Senior B, previously Sportsman, and am about ~1hr from Exeter in Wrentham.
  10. I'm at sea level, weather in the 50-60F range when I ride currently. Bike runs great. Jetting is stock.
  11. FWIW, I just bought a GG as well (2014). I was told by the dealer to run it on a mix of race gas and pump gas, specifically because the GG will run very poorly on straight pump gas. Before you go crazy trying to jet it, you might want to give that a try and see if it runs better.
  12. Highly embarrassing, but I can only hop right. I feel like a fish with one flipper cut off. I can basically go in a circle to my right, but when it comes time to go left, I give a few feeble front hops then promptly lose balance. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the pressure I'm putting on the pegs as relates to keeping the rear brake on, but for the life of me I can't see to figure out how to counteract it. Help!

Yeah, if you're riding third gear in competition sections for anything other than very big hits, something is wrong. You'll find just about everyone in the clubman range rides 1st or 2nd gear depending on their particular preference, bikes transmission and gearing.

  15. I leave them in the ignition at trials. There's no safer place I can imagine. If I'm in the state forest practicing I just put them in my pocket.
  16. I ended up just soldering it in line. Job done. Thanks!
  17. It's a sad day for this poll... bought a used GasGas.

So I bought my first GG the other day and I'm not sure how tight to screw in the air filter retaining screw. I feel like I'm over tightening it, but obviously I don't want it to fall out.
  19. Could anyone fill me in on what I need to pull apart, cut, solder of otherwise mess with to fit a lanyard? The lanyard is of the normal Jitsie variety.

Are the valves on the Beta 4t's adjusted with shims?
  21. I'd imagine around $8k, which is what most new 250's go for (Beta, Sherco, etc)
  22. Your missing chocolate spread problem is easily fixed with Nutella
  23. Of all the trials bikes I've come across, the Beta is at least on par. And as you mentioned... che bella moto! PS: Parlerò con Luigi domattina sul il suo lavoro. Nel frattempo, continuiamo produrre le moto...
  24. How do you feel they're not made well?
  25. That's USD
